I was so excited when this place opened up, finally a burger within walking distance! I was really excited to have a nice burger place in town that wasn’t McDonalds. But, alas, the disappointment set in as soon as I came in the door. The prices were OUTRAGEOUS. They claim to have this all organic local product thing going on… Well if that’s true you’re paying for it. Bottom line-I could have made a better burger myself at home. Cheaper and better seasoning. The Mac and Cheese bites were so boring I should have fed them to the birds. The fries were good. Just the fries. 3 stars for the cute atmosphere, the wonderful lady at the cash register, and the idea they tried to make come to life. Maybe if they were open more I would give them another shot

Fantastic food, great, friendly service and a lovely setting. A must stop place for lunch if you’re passing through HMB.

QUICKSUMMARY — VERYOVERPRICED — Thin menu — Great property — worse… odd irregular hours. — Nice folk MORE: — they hang a hat on Mac Attacks… unflavorful…twice for me undercooked, TEPID flavor — beautiful on the inside… but a Help Wanted sign from Home Depot… hung with masking tape… need I say more. W.T. — A BACONCHEESEBURGERIS $ 13. FRANKLY, IN, N, OUTISBETTER. ADDFRIES… now we are at $ 16 A burger and fries… a burger and fries. The rest of the menu reads as such for B– quality food. A thin menu, and odd unavailabilty. plenty of parking. It has become a «try it once place for locals… things change… we will see.

Pleased to have another option for burgers and fries here on the coast. I went for the first time this weekend. Was a bit shell-shocked when I saw the prices. $ 14 for a cheeseburger and fries with no drink was on the maximum edge of how much I would pay. Took it takeaway. It was served quickly and efficiently. All good there. Got home and was equally surprised to find that it was one of the better cheeseburgers I have had in the past few years. Perfect medium rare. Excellent local cheese. Tangy and freaking good burger. The string-type fries were very good too. Only not five stars as the prices are challengingly high. Offer a reasonable discount to we locals and it would be 5 stars for me!

Tasty and consistent food. The menu is not broad but does include enough choices to please a group. The indoor seating may be crowded on a cold day, so bring a warm coat and hat and enjoy the outdoor patio and relaxed barn vibe. Sometimes, we hit it really lucky, just in time for a fruit pie to come out of the oven. The menu is a bit pricey with a $ 12 chicken or pulled pork sandwich plus separate price for fries. The fries have a little bit of sugar sprinkled on them for a salty-sweet experience. We pay the price for quality local food. Oh! I should mention that The Barn also offers a nice selection of local beers.

Very impressed with the place. First off, the décor looked really nice. If the weather was warm, then this would have been a nice place to eat and sit outside. My wife and I both got the burger and also the chicken sandwich. We were both really impressed with both, especially the burger. You can tell that all the food was very fresh. Only thing was that the inside area for seating was a little small and a bit difficult to get around the tables. We will definitely have to come here again.

This place was nice and super low key. We stayed at one is the neighboring hotels and hotels and came to the barn for dinner. We ordered a barn burger, a hot dog, fries, a Caesar salad, a cookie, a horchata milk shake, a tea, and apple slaw. The apple slaw was very made up up of bold and delicious flavor a but it was too spicy and it was missing something, I expected this to be sweet and sour similar to red cabbage but it was rather plain if that makes sense. The tea was also one of my least favorite, as it tasted like a potpourri of flowers. The burger, the shake, the fries, the cookie and especially the Caesar salad, were perfect and exactly what I imagined. Everything is also locally harvested :) Loves it!

Fun down home ambiance with fun music that will keep your knee bouncin’ through your meal. Amazing food and excellent drink options. The owner and staff is every bit as good as the food! Can’t wait to come back. Five star rating all day!!!

The food is slightly better than what you would find at any of the surrounding restaurants. The service is terrible. It’s like going to your eccentric Aunts house for dinner. You can’t help but feel like you are somehow intruding on the owners private dining room. If I’m going to pay $ 40 for burgers and drinks for two people, I’d like to feel like my patronage is appreciated.

From what I gathered the Barn was opened approximately 5-months ago(as of December 2015). It’s safe to say in the next five-months they we’ll be receiving MANY more 5xstar reviews. The building has been recently renovated and no detail was over looked and that goes for the ingredients. They are locally sourcing their ingredients and delivering a superior product. In house made American cheese, fresh cut fries, hand pressed beef patties, served on a bun that holds up great from start to finish. If your looking for a .99 burger, then don’t go to the Barn. Now, if you do want one of the best burgers in Northern California, then you must go the Barn. Eat well my friends!

Came here for lunch on a Friday with the wifey. She had told me about it so I was curious since I had never really noticed what was here before The Barn arrived. It is a pleasant space. Cool décor and plenty of outside seating. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We ordered the Barn burger with their homemade cheese and a veggie burger. We threw in a side of fries and an HMBIPA and root beer as well. Verdict: First, everything was fresh and delicious. However, the veggie burger was simply AMAZING!(And this coming from a true carnivore.) I had their Barn Burger but when I tasted my wife’s veggie burger, I felt I made a mistake. The fries were also tasty(despite having to send them back and ask for another round when the first order were just a bunch of ‘runts’) All in all, it was an enjoyable lunch. But it was a bit pricey– something I noticed others called out in their reviews– $ 40 for everything I mentioned. However, this being the Silicon Valley(the folks we saw pulling in were all well-heeled, and an older crowd) not sure they’ll have a problem. I’d go back for their veggie burger and another IPA and fries.

Love this place. So cute and charming! I tried it for the first time this weekend with a friend during low hours so we didn’t have to wait long for our food. The aesthetics of the place was great. It was shabby chic meets rustic and it is very fitting for a place called«The Barn.» They even had a retro looking AMI juke box that was playing some of my favorite 90s hip hop while I was dining(points to the person playing that)! What we ordered to share: –Barn Burger: Yum! The American cheese they used was tasty and almost creamy, which is A+ in my book. We added bacon(smart). The Caramelized onions added personality to this burger. Next time though, I think I’ll double up on the patty. –What the Cluck?: Crispy deliciousness! The chicken was so crispy, but it didn’t seem too oily. It was served on ciabatta with arugula, goat cheese, tomatoes, and buttermilk dressing. Mmm. –Fries: I’m a sucker for shoe string fries. What more can I say? I dug ‘em. –Barn Lemonade: Very refreshing. They say ‘fresh squeezed’ and they’re not messing around. –Chocolate Cookie Caramel Malt Shake: Do yourself a favor and order this. Treat yo’self. My friend who doesn’t even like milkshakes was debating if she wanted to order one for the road. Now that’s saying something! To sum things up, it was a great experience. Friendly staff, good atmosphere, and tasty food made with quality ingredients. I will definitely come back when I need to escape the city to Half Moon Bay. Next time, I’m trying the Pulled Pork Sandwich and Fried Mac & Cheese. Just typing that made want to go back right now!

So, we’ve been here twice. I like the food. Unfortunately the 5 star experience is lacking in 2 spaces: 1– the pricing is insane. Unless you plan on splitting a meal, you’re going spend $ 40 minimum. 2– Family Friendly Music Selection. The second time I came here I took my 12 year old sister with me and they were playing unedited gangsta rap. Lots of smoking weed and the n word, always good for bonding with your middle school aged sibling. Like I mentioned at the top, the food is great, I particularly like the pork sandwich, they just need to tweak their presence and pricing before it would be five stars for me.

Good food, but skip the fries. Yes, it’s expensive, but you’re paying for the fresh, locally sourced ingredients and the location. They make their burgers fresh and in house. We had the crazy tender chicken, the substantial veggie burger, a salted caramel snake and the fries. Everything but the fries were fantastic. The fries were chewy, undersalted, and dry. The only other miss was the music. Blaring loud hip hop at noon on a Saturday isn’t really my thing. Given the look of the clientele I doubt it was theirs either. So much work was put into the décor and menu, I’m not sure how they can miss on the music. Save the hip hop for the evening crowd.

The food is great. I had the burger, my wife the chicken sandwich, and a hot dog for the kids. My only issue is it is very expensive. They charge $ 3.50 for ice tea and it comes in a small mason jar with no refills. They lost one star for the tea… other than that very good.

The food was decent, the service was NOT. Kind of pricey for just burgers and sandwiches. I went with 2 friends a few days ago they both got the pork sandwich with fries and I ordered the chicken with a salad. There food came out about half an hour before mine. The restaurant made no effort to serve us all together and they were pretty snobby when I inquired about whether my food was still coming 20 minutes after the first meals arrived. I noticed my salad sitting on the counter too… it would’ve been awesome to have at least been served that. The chicken has an option of fried/grilled. I forgot to specify and the cashier apparently decided to make a decision for me. It wasn’t the way I would’ve gone but I didn’t want to fuss since it was my mistake and I had already waited so long. By the time my food came I just got a to-go box and ate in the car. It was a particularly cold day and the restaurant space’s doors were all open so that room was cold and half the heat lamps outside didn’t work and those that did weren’t really keeping us warm.

I saw that this burger joint was finally open, so checked it out with the wife when I got a chance. Entry is from the rear… although the front door is open, you’ll just use it to get to the back. Above the ordering area is a set of chalk boards with the choices. It IS a burger joint first and foremost, so HAD to have the burger, of course. Note — they clearly listed out what comes on the burger… like ketchup(Smashburger, are you taking notes?). What’s cool is that they use all local«stuff», and make their own… pretty much everything. I ordered a bacon burger with cheese, wife ordered just the burger with cheese(very un-American of her… but I digress). I also ordered a fry(only one size), an iced tea for the wife, and lemonade for myself. We got our drinks and paid… well, let me rephrase that… we PAID. HOLYCOW! NO. REALLY. A REALHOLYCOW! HOWELSEDOYOUJUSTIFY $ 40FOR A COUPLEOFBURGERS! This burger had better be the best damned burgers ever at these prices! We found a table(after recovering from shock), and waited for said better be the best damned burgers ever. The wife took a sip of her homemade iced tea, and proclaimed it very good. I took a sip of the homemade lemonade, and the wife got to watch my face go into serious pucker mode. Yes, it’s good. Just very very very very very tart. The burgers showed up, as ordered(always a good start). The fries showed up about 4 – 5 minutes later. We took a bite… and yeah, this is a good burger, and you get the warm/fuzzies that knowing it’s all local«stuff»(so you’re supporting the local economy, blah blah blah). A bit cheesy(who woulda thunk I’d ever say THAT?), but definitely good. And the fries were good. So the place is good. BUT… there are some GREAT burger joints nearby(i.e. Flavor, Jersey Joe’s) that are EASILY30% cheaper for the same quality. Look, I get the whole all local«stuff» thing. I do. And that may justify a slight increase in prices to give those warm/fuzzies. But this is not«slight». This is MASSIVE sticker shock material we’re talking here. So yeah, it’s good, and I hope they survive, but not sure I’d go there again when Flavor is JUST around the corner(and they have garlic fries!). I would have given this place a five star review if they weren’t so unbelievably high. I mean, I can see how Nepenthe can charge so much for a burger… you’re in the middle of nowhere. But… while some might say HMBIS the middle of nowhere, we DO, however, have choices. And this is not going to be one of them. [SETRANTMODEOFF]. Side note: If you’re heading North on Hwy 1, you can’t legally turn into their parking lot. BUT… if you made the next left, there’s another left immediately after you turn. Kinda looks like a driveway. take that, and you’ll end up in their parking lot.(or, alternatively, don’t make the left, and go straight on Hwy 1 to the next light, and go to Flavor instead).

This is a great place to hang out, have a bite and drink some really good beer or wine. It is very dog and kid friendly, the food is great, parking is easy, and the staff is super attentive. A few people have complained about the prices. But it really is on par with other high quality places. If you want cheap, mass produced food, go elsewhere. Ive had the bacon wrapped dog which was awesome. The burgers are great too. I especially like the acme buns that are griddle toasted. That is THE way to prep a bun. Fries are well executed. Shakes are awesome. Nice outdoor area is pet friendly. Parking is easy.

Ummm. called to order food for pick up, «we don’t take phone orders, you have to come in and order food to go». Yeah, the reason I am calling in advance is I don’t have time to wait!!! Never heard of a place that won’t take a phone orders!!!

Have to give these guys 5 Stars — the GF says there isn’t anything she would’ve changed! The atmosphere is spot on — if anyone has been to Lagunitas in Petaluma, it has that same kind of vibe. Take a look at the pics. The service is super friendly. We talked with one of the owners husband for awhile and you can tell from talking to him they put a lot of thought and care into the place. The foodstuffs! They have a bunch of beer on tap and about a ½ dozen wines by the glass. The GF had the Lagunitas and I had a local IPA from Hop Dogma. She had the(Mary’s) chicken sando and it was cooked to perfection — moist and as good as anything I could do at home. I asked her if she would have changed anything — nothing, enough said. I had the pulled pork and it was pretty damn good as well. Kind of like if a banh mi and a southern pulled pork sandwich had a baby — that’s how I would describe it, good stuff. Everything is top notch with Nieman Ranch and Mary’s products as well as local beer and wine. The Barn definitely makes it into the rotation…
