I rarely review places unless I’m totally underwhelmed and treated poorly to boot. As both of these things were true I decided to write this review… Let’s start with the incredibly RUDE woman who couldn’t be bothered to acknowledge me for several minutes as she yammered on her cell phone. When she managed to take a moment to finally take our order of ceviche/paella she acted very put out that we interrupted her social life. Fast forward to the ceviches(we got 2) both mild(we ordered one mild one spicy) they were fishy and under seasoned. Yes I said fishy in Hawaii of all places!!! The paella was just ok but since my two friends(both of Peruvian descent I might add) thought it was pretty weak and we drove all the way from Kailua just to try this garbage I’m pretty annoyed to say the least. And the final kicker? As we were leaving we walked by the truck to witness the dude who works there sneeze, not wash his hands, and continue to handle food. Do not eat here! I repeat. DONOTEATHERE!

We got lost on our way to Turtle Beach and we’re pleasantly surprised to find a mobile Peruvian food truck. The Peruvian couple were down to earth and the food was delicious. I was just going to order something to snack on, but after trying their jalea mixta and ceviche we had to try more. Being Peruvian it was a good meal. I wish them both a very prosperous future.

Happened to see this truck as we were driving around the North Shore and decided to give it a try. We were so glad we did. The Ceviche was amazing and extremely fresh. The fish tacos were some of the best we’ve ever had. Fresh, flavorful, and slightly spicy. Even the side salad was surprisingly good. He is here on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We are definitely going to try to make it back here during our stay. A few days after our stop. We had the idea and wondered if Rodrigo would cater our last meal on our vacation. So we gave him a call and he was more than happy to oblige! So Thursday, Rodrigo and Claudia brought fresh fish tacos, seafood Paella and Ceviche to our condo. It was the best fish tacos we have ever had. The ceviche was amazing and the paella was delicious! So happy they made our last vacation dinner probably the best of our stay. Definitely check them out! You won’t be disappointed.

Great Peruvian ceviche, ono or mixed(fish, shrimp, lobster, and octopus). You can order it mild or spicy and is very fresh – Peruvian poke!

I was staying in Waikiki beach on vacation and decided to look for a Peruvian restaurant since I and a huge fan.(Wife is Peruvian). Found this place(on Unilocal) which is about roughly 1hour 30 minute drive from the southern part of Oahu on the north shore. Best thing I could’ve done! It’s not much to look at being that it’s in the back of a econoline truck but the taste and beautiful ocean view makes it all worth it. The owners are very humble and attentive they were happy to see someone trek from southern Cali all the way to the north shore for some of their delicious food. Next time on vacation in Hawaii I will definitely stop here again.

Saw this truck by the beach after I finished mountain biking and made the right choice to stop. Ordered the standard ceviche and was told to wait about 8 minutes while they prepared it. I sat at a plastic table overlooking the ocean. Doesn’t get better than this. Large pieces of fresh fish, shrimp and calamari with the toasted corn kernels and a slice of sweet potato. I asked for spicy and it was perfect. Owners are from Peru. Some of the best I ever had. Very friendly. Wish they sold Cusquena beer or any beer. Well worth it!
