The Banana Taro Bread is heavenly. Randomly grabbed a loaf when he was just trying to get rid of them. Best purchase of my last day in Oahu. We just randomly stopped by some tents to see what was going on. It was just a little farmers market on the side of the road in Haleiwa. We tried looking for him on our second trip because we were craving the bread so bad, but couldn’t find him. We also got a cookie and some muffins from him. TODIEFOR!

We first saw them at the Ala Moana farmer’s market but did not try anything since we already had our fill. The following day, we saw them again at the Haleiwa farmer’s market. Looking for something different, I bought the lilikoi bread. The taste was not evident until the second bite and it was very slight. Two days later, I tried another piece and if I did not know what flavor it was, I would still be guessing. One plus, it is very moist. Would I try it again, probably not. It needs more lilikoi flavor. Maybe there is a fine line between mild and overwhelming and that is how they settled on the amount of flavoring to add, don’t know, I’m not a baker dude. I won’t stay away though, I’ll try something else, they get choke huge selection.

Baker Dudes is awesome! Was so glad to find their Spelt bread… great texture, good body… makes awesome toast! I love the par-baked garlic baguettes, which allow me to feel like i am the genius behind the loaf, as i pull it piping hot from the oven and serve it up to ohhing and ahhing dinner guests. And when i am feeling a little naughty I allow myself a Chocolate Croissant. warm and melty, buttery, melt-in-yo-mouth goodness! I appreciate that they only use organic flours, and offer alternatives to wheat. I’ve seen them at the Haleiwa Farmers Market on Sundays and the Waialua Market on Saturdays. Oh and they have biscotti and cookies, too.
