I’ve used Howard’s in the past to frame something that was priceless to me. They did a job that was worthy of being in a museum never mind my office. Pricey? Somewhat but it’s an independant store, stocking local frames etc. keep it local! Went in there to pic up some frames for a project I’m working on. Was greeted soon as I came through the door, they had the frames that I wanted. The check out girl noticed a scratch on the glass, thus she replaced it free of charge.(no more of those frames in stock) Most people wouldn’t have noticed. The cut to fit extra backing foam within minutes, But the best thing about Howard’s… STOREDOG! Ellie-May the sweetest Labrador you ever did meet! Got licks on my and & covered in hair. But any store that has a store dog is above the rest.

Howard’s Art and Frames is the place to go for fine arts supplies and custom framing. the selection you will find is tremendous and if there is something they don’t have they can usually order it for you, or tell you where to get it. Staff is very knowledgable, unlike big box stores. I wouldn’t trust any other store for my custom framing needs. there is a Master Certified, and Certified Picture Framer, on staff. The work done on my Grandfathers WWII medals turned out spectacular. I’ve never had a problem with any work done there but they always take the time to make sure I’m fully pleased with what I’m getting, and I’m certain they wouldn’t let me leave if I wasn’t happy. There is a reason they are about the only art supply and framing store left in the area. Highly Recomended!

It has taken me a while to get over what Howard’s CF did to me. Do not get ripped off! I went in to get some art framed only to be pushed into framing more pieces than I originally intended. I was waited on by 3 different people one being the woman owner of the store. After agreeing to get 5 pieces done and being very explicit as to where they were going and what sizes they needed to be. The sales guy convinced me that 3 would fit stacked up behind a sofa.(I had checked my measurements n told him it was impossible, there was not enough wall space! But, they framed them how they saw best. After all, they are the experts. Upon receiving them, they were at least 50% too big. And a 3rd piece which was supposed to be framed in a blue hand painted Italian frame was delivered to me in a black frame that had been artistically painted to resemble my choice by the owner lady. She said: «that the frame had come in from Italy in black. And that she was an archival restorer and therefore, I should be pleased with what she had done». She proceeded to charge me full price for the 3 oversize pieces although they had to be cut down and including all matting, framing and glass that was not necessary. And full price for my imitation Italian frame! Stupidly, I paid and walked out. I could not believe that the owner would try to pass off her work, I could not believe the lack of accountability and the horrible service. Don’t buy anything from this place! It was the owner who in the end made all the final decisions and added up my bill just to cover her ass and was nothing but, money hungry. What a horrible way to run a business. I’m outraged!
