Stadium Storage

Probably one of the most unprofessional and careless Uhaul offices I have experienced. I rented a truck for a day to move my stuff within a radius of 10 miles from a Uhaul storage in Holyoke to Amherst. There was no way to come in contact with anything grassy or whatever. However, I was charged $ 25 cleaning fee because the attendant after initially apologizing for an inadvertent error came back with the story that there was grass lying in the truck. After I made it clear that there was no way it could have been possible, she backtracked to mention some grassy thingy and then to something «green» thingy. If you are thinking about renting a truck from this place, make sure to add $ 25 to the charge.

I’ll try to cut to the chase. I was in the process of a difficult move and decided to rent one of their storage units in addition to using the Uhaul service. I was able to move into my apartment quicker than I had thought however and canceled my storage unit after only having it two/​three days and not even seeing it. I thought after spending hundreds on the Uhaul they would cut me some slack and reimburse me for the storage unit. Instead, they did not even apologize. The service is horrendous, I spent plenty of money here and they couldn’t even do me the small favor of waiving the unit which I did not even use. They ended up calling me months later about a lock on the unit – again I never even went inside the facility, so it couldn’t be mine – and still no apology. What a joke.
By the way, they close at 3 and are bad about answering the phone. I needed to extend my uhaul, so I called promptly when they opened (it was due that night) and I did not receive a call back until the next day. Luckily, I realized I could just go through UHaul’s 1 – 800 number.
Okay one last thing… their policy is that you are billed for storage for a full month and they do not guarantee any reimbursement. I get that, but a good business would’ve helped me out knowing I would use them again. Too bad for Stadium Storage because I will never be back.

Never rent a storage unit from these assholes they sold all my stuff 4 weeks ago and I never received a notice of Auction.
I called today and many other times to pay they never returned my calls.
My father is sick with cancer has a year to live and all my family photos of my father and I have now been auctioned and thrown out. I’m heart broken.
I finally talked with the owner today, while he yelled at me he sent me a notice I never received, and all my stuff is gone.
These are horrible people. Never do business with them.
When I’ve rented a Uhaul many times it had been given away to some one else after a reservation.
They never answer their phones and swear at eachother about you on the phone, when they have to take a call during their busy hours.

Just moved to the area and got stuck with a couch too huge to fit in the apartment — I was able to get a unit right away and the guy was nice enough to give me a lock at no charge. (I had no idea I’d even need one, and I think he noticed how new this whole «storage» thing was to me immeadiately.)
We kept our couch in a unit for four days past one month (which was very reasonably priced, cheapest in the area I could find). I offered to pay at least a little bit for those four days — he told me no worries, I was taken off the books, just payment for that first month was enough.
Very friendly staff, very responsive, and the hours of availability for the unit is great. I had people coming to look at the couch on Sunday afternoon, Thursday evening — not a problem. The facility is gated past a certain time but an easy to use key pad code gets you in.
I’d definitely recommend Stadium Storage!

I’m reviewing their Uhaul functionality here (where apparently they rent the trucks and then feign ignorance of any of Uhaul’s mechanisms). After I booked a UHaul truck with Hadley as my preferred location and Uhaul sent me to Brattleboro (an hour away) I called this location and requested a date (talking with whoever works here) where I could pick up a truck IN HADLEY. They made my reservation (for a Tuesday, of all days) with this specific request. Now, they day before my move, I get a text message from Uhaul saying that my reservation is in Northampton, an extra 40 minutes of driving in total.
I called Stadium Storage and asked what’s up, and he tells me that he doesn’t know, they must not have a truck, but it’s totally out of his hands, so sorry. Great, I’m really glad that the people running this place have no idea where their trucks are or when they will be free. Why do I even bother making a reservation?
In summary, just book with the Uhaul in Northampton or Brattleboro because that’s where you’ll end up anyway, and then at least you’ll know what’s going on before the day of your rental.

I’ve used these guys twice for my move. Both times my van and truck were available for Saturday at 2PM and because they close at 3PM on Saturday and are closed on Sunday, I was allowed to take out my truck until Monday at 9AM at no extra charge!
Simple. Book online for a truck/​van, pick up 2 minutes away from the UMass Amherst campus. Don’t have a car? Take the 37 bus and get off at CVS or the 43 and get off at Newmarket Center and walk a minute down the street. Save money and time!
