Ahead of the Pack

I took my dog there right after Christmas. I give my dog baths in the summer so winter is the time I get her washed. I used to go to «Jakes House», but they went out of business. That was a 10 star groomer!
My Dog has short fur and weights about 75lb. She does not like baths, but she tolerates them with a little encouraging words.
Well I took her to, «Head of the Pack» with all the good reviews on Unilocal I thought they would be a great groomer. I got her back after her bath and it was just a bath. She didn’t smell that great and it didn’t even seem as though she was Bathed. The groomer said she used hyper allogenic shampoo so it really has no smell. The groomer explained she had to really brush my dog because she was shedding so badly. Brushing a dog even a lot I think is part of the job description as a groomer. Don’t complain to the customer of all people and then think you should get a good tip. I just wanted her bathed and brushed and just wanted her to smell good. So when my dog came down she looked fine. The same as I dropped her off. She is semi white and was not any whiter. My dog is not a bitter, she is a Rescue and she’s a very very docile.
When I got her into the car I noticed her Eye kind of drooping I did not think anything of it. Then when I got home she started getting all of these bumps just on her right side along with her Eye that was drooping on the right side. I waited a couple days to see if it was just a reaction. Well, it wasn’t she had a scratch on her eyeball, she has hives all over her right side. Now I have a vet bill of $ 137.37. She is on antibiotics and I have to go see an ophthalmologist for dogs to see about her scratch on her eye. She could lose her eye. So think twice about going to this place I think a lot of the good reviews came from the owners friends. By the way one dog walked out with a nice little handkerchief around it’s neck my dog got nothing. The groomer was rude and not grateful that I even gave her a tip. The front desk girl was nice that’s about it. If you have a large dog that needs a bath don’t go there.

Chris and her team put their hearts into this store and it shows. The basics are always in stock; their seasonal gifts range from the practical to the whimsical; and, the grooming staff is kind, professional and accommodating.

I took my 7 month old puppy for his first grooming here and it couldn’t have been a better experience! Gretchen started playing with him right away and took time to talk to me about his cut. The woman behind the counter was also helpful and friendly, which added to my comfort level. The biggest pro of grooming here is that dogs come in one at a time so the grooming process isn’t taking 3 – 5 hours like other places I’ve been with my last dog. So your baby isn’t being caged or ignored waiting to be groomed!
I believe my puppy Sam would also give Doggie and Kitty Style 5 paws. When we were ready to leave he ran back to Gretchen to give her good bye kisses! Plus, the shop has a nice selection of healthy treat options for him to enjoy.

I have been shopping at Doggy and Kitty Style since I got my 1 year old Frenchie. Chris, the owner is extremely nice and knowledgable about training, food, and care for all types of dogs. She helped me pick out the best food that fits my puppies needs. She even reserves his food and treats so they will never be sold out. John and all the other staff members and groomers are also knowledgable and always remembers my dogs name! In my opinion, Doggy and Kitty is the best business in haddonfield!

Willie was wonderful with my golden retriever! After having moved to NJ from Colorado, I was searching for a groomer similar to the one I used in CO and until recently, had not been able to find a really great groomer who was so detail-​oriented and worked with me on exactly what cut I wanted for my dog. I can now say I have found one in NJ who did an amazing job with my dog! From the moment I walked in the store, I was completely comfortable leaving my dog there and loved how warm and welcoming the staff were. Excellent customer service! Will definitely be going back next time my golden needs a haircut and I would highly recommend Willie to anyone looking for a dog groomer:)

I recently came into this location to buy my pup a Christmas bow tie. I have been here a few times before and always noticed the exceptional service. The man I met was very friendly and helpful. I also bought my dog a winter sweater for the cold months ahead. You do not need to spend $ 40 – 50 to get a quality sweater for your dog. I’ll definitely shop here again whenever I want to splurge for my little guy. They actually value your business unlike many snooty dog boutiques.

Had a wonderful experience with the groomer Gretchen today. I have an X-​Large Greater Swiss Mountain Dog who hates being bathed. When I got him back from being groomed he was so clean, shinny, and smelled the best he has ever smelled. He was in good spirits which is normally not the case after being bathed. I will be taking him back and I bet he is even looking forward to it. Everyone there is so helpful and friendly. It is a pleasure, not only to shop there but to have your dog groomed there.

Gretchun is amazing!!! I have shopped at the store many times before and decided to try the groomer there for my Mini Schnauzer rescue. Gretchun was not afraid to tell me that my dog was not in a proper Schanuzer cut and I just told her to do what needed to be done. OMG! My dog was breathtaking when she was finished with him! I would highly recommend!

Friendly pet boutique and groomers in downtown Haddonfield. They have everything I need for my dog, as well as great gifts. Chris is very helpful, especially when I needed to return an item to the manufacturer. She listens to your needs and recommends the right product. Gretchen does a good job clipping my dog’s nails in only a few minutes.

We’ve been taking our dogs here for grooming for several months now, and I can’t praise them highly enough. Gretchen is an excellent groomer — so nice, great with the dogs, and fast — especially given how thorough and professional she is. The dogs look fantastic and while the price is higher than our previous groomer, Gretchen is well worth it!

I think the Philadelphia stores have a larger selection but the man who waited on me was very knowledgeable and didn’t try to sell me something that wouldn’t work for my dog. An honest and knowledgeable salesperson? How refreshing!

Doggy & Kitty Style is a cute little boutique that carries a variety of treats, toys and fashion for pets. Although they didn’t have the waterproof collars I was seeking, the woman working in the store (not sure if she was an owner?) sounded quite interested and said she would look into them as we enter the swimming months. She also had several unique product suggestions for durable bone-​type items for my unbelievably powerful chewer of a cairn terrier. I went with the deer antler, and judging by the fact that my little furry friend has been guarding it with her life since I brought it home, she was on the right track.
If a happy wife makes a happy life, then surely a happy pet makes a happy… well, that makes a happy life, too.

As a Philly transplant, I missed my local Passyunk Avenue Doggie Style store but was relieved to find that the Haddonfield store offers the same great products and service. The owner is very nice and special-​ordered both dog and cat food for me. There are healthier options available here than in most pet shops. I also purchased a life jacket for my dachshund, who is very hard to fit.
