This place is a gem, their paninis is are sick. I love the food here, I had tuna sandwiches and the veggie panini. The turkey and chicken panini are good too. Don’t get me started on the rice pudding honey, sooo soooo sooo good.

Maybe the morning crowd took everything :) I got here at 10am on a Friday — the baked goods didn’t look exceptionally fresh — there was one tres leches cake that I really wanted but who knows how long that one cake has been there– it was clean and the coffee was good so if you just need something basic and quick to eat I wouldn’t totally rule this out

Downtown Hackensack is not a hotbed for lunch places. Java’s Brewin has fresh food. The coffee is OK. Tea selections are excellent. Juices are made fresh as in the guy is pushing those carrots through the juicer as you watch. Healthy-licious ! Takes are good, bathrooms clean. They tape over the plugs. :-/Quiet place to take a meeting.

I love this place. To those who complained in their reviews, I say it’s all about your expectations. Starbucks it ain’t. I’m surprised they even have wifi. And my guess is if you asked the owner(gentleman who’s always been up front when I’ve been there — I assume), he might let you plug in if you really need. I too go to Starbucks often for that feature alone. I’ve been going for coffee once a week or so for years, and last week I went in and the guy asked how I was, commenting that he had not seen me for a while. The cappuccino is good. The muffins are tasty. The price is right. Service excellent. Works for me.

The food is always fresh and delicious, especially the wraps. The service is quick and friendly. Prices are reasonable. The only complaint is to find parking in the middle of the day.

I went here to grab some breakfast after a night out. Wasn’t looking for anything fancy, just a nice spot to chill. Although the location is prime(right next to Johnson Library on Main St.), I didn’t feel my order was very good. The sausage, egg, and cheese on a bagel I had was sub-par at best, mostly because of the chewy bagel and fake-tasting eggs. And the coffee tasted burnt and off brand. Other reviews say the muffins are great so perhaps next time I’ll stick to that. But if you’re looking for a decent breakfast sandwich, it would be a good idea to look elsewhere.

A nice little spot to grab a salad, sandwich or a muffin… I went on looking for their salad bar but was a tad disappointed. The selection was slim, I ended up getting a buffalo chicken salad but they didn’t have blue cheese so it was not I was hoping for, they also didn’t have blue cheese dressing either. The salad was good but definetly lacking something?(My guess is blue cheese). The seating area looked like it could be a little cleaner. I heard that they have good sandwiches there so maybe I will try one sometime. Also they only have one soup made daily. I would like if they had more soup choices on a daily basis.

The batteries in the eat detector above the coffee condiment station needs to be changed … Beep… beep…beep…not sure how the only other customer(who ordered to stay) can enjoy that. Too bad because it’s a decent size space — clean but not polished. The man cooking(who I believe is the owner) and the woman behind the counter are the same as my first visit. This second time I opted out of the subpar muffin and got a egg white and veggie sandwich — which unlocked a free coffee thru Unilocal. The coffee is good. I rarely drink coffee so it was a nice surprise. The sandwich was hearty(unusual for egg whites — places normally skimp) with spinach and olives — not into the olives at all. The wheat bread was barely toasted. Next time I would specify no olives, well toasted, and add ketchup or butter or salt and pepper or all of the above. Not a total let down and would go again in a pinch. Convenient and affordable.

One of the only places in the area to get a «make your own» salad which are very delicious. Also, everyone is very nice. A must for a work lunch.

I really had my high hopes up for this place. I wanted to see a vast amount of pastry options but this wasn’t the deal on a weekday morning, 830am. I only saw a handful of bagels, muffins and brownies. The refrigerator counter, located in front of the cashier was pretty much empty. Two yogurts(chobani brand) and a parfait. So I settled with breakfast sandwich and a free coffee(because I checked in Unilocal!). The coffee was a blend and I am ok with that however a «single origin«coffee is mostly preferred on my palette. The bacon, egg and cheese roll was ok. The roll did not taste fresh but the bacon was real, thank you! I hate to admit it; I had a meatier breakfast sandwich at a «whole in the wall» place. The staff was friendly and I waited about 8 minutes for my order. Perhaps I’ll try lunch next time around

The muffins are moist and flavorful and about the size of a fist(maybe larger). The paninis are the best: crunchy bread with grill marks, the interior gooey and warm. My favorite is the chicken panini. The tuna panini is great too. The food here is excellent.

I am a breakfast fan and this place works for me! Full breakfast menu with French toast, pancakes, omelets, bagels etc. great coffee of course. You do order at the counter but the tables, chairs lighting are comfy. Shelves of books and magazines give it the coffee shop vibe. I would prefer real dishes over the styrofoam they use. Owner is very sweet.

I have been searching for my go to coffee spot in this area and was optimistic upon seeing the great reviews of this place. Unfortunately it didn’t live up to what I was hoping for. Disclaimer: I didn’t try the muffins which clearly are part of the draw here. They had just taken them out of the oven and removing them from the muffin pans and looked amazing. Tons of flavor options which all looked great. My experience was more around 2 stars but I would give them another chance before giving them that rating. I ordered a iced coffee and«French toast with bacon». The iced coffee was not good. It tasted almost burnt, and had that flavor that coffee has when it is strong because it isn’t brewed properly as opposed to just having great intense flavor. My French toast with bacon ended up being bacon between French toast. It didn’t impress me at all; the French toast was kind of flavorless and the one small piece of bacon didn’t add anything. I would come back to maybe try the muffins but was not a fan of the stuff I ordered. They do have a lot of coffee and blended drink options if you like that stuff.

I have always loved this place, the muffins are always fresh. I believe they make new batches every 4hrs. The best way to get them is toasted with butter. The drinks are amazing as well and definitely worth the money. The staff is super and occasionally the owner is around and will ring you up always with a smile on his face, what a nice man. One thing I promise, you will never look at other muffins the same after these ones.

This place is pretty awesome came here for a brunch/lunch and had no complaints. I had used the Unilocal deal 10 $ for 15 $ and got a cappachino and a smoked turkey panini my friend got the eggs with spinach and toast with a tiramisu on the side. I tasted everything and it was all delicious and satisfying. I really would recommend the smoked turkey panini! The workers are very friendly and accommodating as well. The prices are reasonable and worth every penny. I will gladly come here again if I am in the area.
