Honest, quick, reasonably priced — decades of experience, real expertise. This is the kind of old school, American shop that is rapidly disappearing thanks to the giant DIY stores. Main Lock Shop is highly, very highly recommended. If you prefer to go to some chain believing you will save a few cents on retail, you totally deserve the poor quality and service you get there. Stores like Main Lock Shop are a vanishing national treasure. If you need lock service, go here, and you will be glad you did.

Never a pleasant experience in Main Lock. Be prepared to be spoken down to and treated like a moron since you’re not a locksmith. Guys, if I was a locksmith I wouldn’t need to be in your store. Never again. You’re not doing me a favor selling me a lock at a much higher price than the big box stores.

I have had keys made for home and business at Main Lock for probably close to 20 years. But when I had a weird circumstance and needed to replace some small padlocks for a charity function that had been misplaced, Danny at Main Lock exhausted every avenue to help me. It ended up that I found the misplaced locks and didn’t need to buy the ones he found for me, but the professionalism and courtesy were above and beyond the standard! I needed to copy my car keys and when I went to ACE Hardware, they told me to go to Main Lock in Hackensack.
So I did, and they copied very nicely! I recommend this place!
