For my main review about Comprehensive Woman’s Care, see my review for Chad White, MD. He’s one of the OB/gyns at this practice, and I cannot say enough for him. Comprehensive Woman’s Care is a great practice all around. I first learned about them after discovering I was expecting, but I fully intend to maintain a relationship for women’s care after my pregnancy. Given the number of ladies of all ages who come to the Detroit(Grosse Pointe) office, I imagine that pretty much speaks for itself for the quality and care received here. CWC is located in the professional building #2 at St. John’s Hospital and Medical Centre with easy access off I-94. Parking is free in a large, covered structure from the third floor up. Floors 1 and 2 are not for patients, though I have made the mistake of snagging a spot once or twice. The third floor connects to the hospital by way of a walkway, and the walkway over to the second building is smooth and easy. Wheelchairs and assistance are available as needed. The friendly, attentive staff at CWC set the practice apart from larger or impersonal offices where you’re just another bar code on a folder. They greet guests and take the time to resolve any issues with care and consideration. Babies and children earn plenty of time, and the mostly female nurses and staff members must be old hands at distracting and entertaining. I should note there’s always a full candy bowl with chocolate bars if pregnancy hormones leave patients peckish. Little things like that matter. Offices are clean and bright despite the rather dim waiting room, and the examination rooms are not needlessly cluttered or sterile. Though space is clearly at a premium in the building, there are comfortable couches and clean, well-maintained equipment throughout. No dingy beds in peeling rooms here. Preparations are smooth and efficient for most procedures, and the staff are happy to answer any questions or concerns. I give them kudos for being organized and on the ball for insurance issues to having the paperwork needed at hand. If only all practices ran this smoothly, even at rush hour. I expect to wait at CWC before my appointment. Physicians are certain to make sure to cover all concerns and issues with a patient; they do not rush or hurry in, flapping labcoat and bundle of paper, to give me five minutes of their precious time and then hurrying off. The advantage is that I get face time with Doctor White, a chance to raise any questions I’ve found and discuss progress in my pregnancy or expectations for the next month. The only snarl I’ve encountered thus far was the doctor being sick, requiring a later appointment in the day. The office tried contacting me but the call never reached me, which I don’t blame them for. We double-checked the records on file and they got me in for the first appointment they could later that afternoon, and the nurses did as much paperwork and prep information to save my time and the doctor’s. They go the extra mile here, and deliver with a smile.
