I ordered two croissants, chocolate and.almond. The croissant were not buttery, flaky, airy. The chocolate croissant had a lump of hard chocolate and the almond had a lump. of dry almond paste. I was disappointed.

Great, fresh-baked bread! Lots of sweets including full and by-the-slice cake.

The egg, cheese and avocado croissant is fluffy and hot. The space is open and airy. A pleasant stop for a light breakfast that delivers more taste than other Grosse Pointe standards such as Panera, Brueggers and Einstein. There were several toddlers there and I found it to be kid friendly.

I’m not from the area, but when I stopped in today for the first time I assumed this bakery had been in business for decades. I enjoyed a delicious cup of soup, a sandwich on their bread, some tea, and something sweet(an almond pastry topped with fresh fruit and a dollop of whipped cream). I was quite pleased with everything they had to offer. The staff was very courteous, the food was served quickly, and I really enjoyed my relaxing time there. There was a decent amount of traffic from the neighborhood. Some people lingered, others were in and out. I noticed that there is a refrigerated case for«carry and go» items as well, which is a great idea. They have a very awesome-looking Rancillio espresso machine. If I wasn’t under the weather, I definitely would have asked for an espresso drink. Later in the day, I was talking to two different friends of mine who have lived in the Pointes their entire lives. To my surprise, neither of them had heard of this bakery and they both said«is it new»? Cornwall Bakery, keep up the good work! Sincerely, your newest convert.

I have been here three times and I just don’t understand. Average everything– no art or presentation in anything they do. Service is just a guy behind the counter. Display is poor to average, and as expected the desserts are way too sweet and offer little finesse. Recipes are not unique in any way and otherwise uninteresting. Granted, they are not committing any crimes and I want to see them succeed, so I’m happy for their success. So great for them and great for the neighborhood. Unfortunately it’s not a place I look forward to going to.

Worth the Bike Ride! To be truthful, Cornwall Bakery is only 3 blocks from my house. I ride to Cornwall for bread and haven’t been disappointed yet. I purchase mostly baguettes and sourdough, the loaves are fresh, perfectly textured and reasonably priced. Much better quality than the Trader Joe’s bagged bread and not as dense as Zingerman’s. Service is friendly and courteous. They even spotted me an IOU when I was light by $ 2 one morning. If I lose a few pounds, we’ll report back on the goodies.

Nice atmosphere and people but I wish they do at least one free refill on the coffee as it’s about $ 3 for a mug and $ 1 for refill. Very nice presentation and clean place and great to have in the neighborhood.

Pastries, muffins, cakes, whatever you want… they have it here. It isn’t heavy, messy, or leave you in a sugar coma. The bakery is simple inside and displays everything in nice glass windows. I had a cinnamon croissant muffin(hey, I worked out today) and it was heaven! Light, buttery and flakey with just the right amount of glaze on top. I also had a fresh ice coffee to go with it. Certainly a nice treat when you want to talk the streets of gross pointe.

While we miss the local grocer that previously occupied this spot, Cornwall is a great addition to the neighborhood! A true artisan bakery, everything we’ve tasted has been fantastic. They have a great selection of breads, breakfast treats(croissants, muffins, scones, more), and desserts.

We had a friend of a friend that was going to make custom cookies for our wedding fall through at the last moment. I called the bakery, and Freeman and his team assured me that they could get order completed in 2 days. We had our cookies in time for our reception, and not only did they look fabulous, they were delicious. Not one cookie left! I would highly recommend the Cornwall Bakery any day of the week.

Iced Mocha is way better than Starbucks! Not too sweet. I had the cranberry orange muffin and it was also delicious

Stopped by today while I was out running errands. Friendly staff, good food. So far I’ve only tried the foccaccia. We liked it. A lot. I’ll stop in again to try other items. If you want a bread that they are out of(I wanted plain challah, braided), they’ll make it for you to pick up later. When a couple came in while I was being helped, another staff member came out immediately to help them so they are attentive.

Time for an update: I ordered a special birthday cake for a coworker’s birthday — and Cornwall knocked it out of the park. The cake was absolutely gorgeous; my colleagues raved about how wonderfully it was decorated in autumnal colors. And once they tasted it, even more rave reviews. Moist, deliciously fresh cake with an amazing buttercream frosting. Everyone LOVED it. Thank you, Cornwall!

What a darling little spot in the park! Wifi, coffee, cold drinks, etc. Beautifully displayed retail, and of course the baked goods in the display cases… I was looking for more lunch ideas, and was recommended the butternut squash soup which did not disappoint! Not to mention instead of crackers in a bag from Cisco, I was treated to homemade French bread crips with Parmesan! So happy to have a spot for lunch or early morning on the go! Did I mention the sharp gal who assisted me with my order? She was very informative, and a delightful person! Thanks Chef Gunnell! Welcome to the park!

I had to check this bakery out since I heard the chef/owner is a Schoolcraft native, as I am too. I got a Turkey and Cheese croissant, which was pretty good but cold In the middle when I ordered it hot. But the croissant itself tasted buttery and flakey. And the brownie was uh-mazing. It was super fudgey and the ganache on top was perfect. I feel like they could take it up a notch with the presentation in the case but overall it was clean and employees were very friendly. Seemed to be running well for a place that just opened. I’ll come back when I’m on that side of Grosse Pointe again.
