The Fleet Reserve Association(FRA) is the leading voice of enlisted and former enlisted sea service personnel on Capitol Hill and has been since 1924. The FRA presents a strong, unified voice to ensure that enlisted issues are heard by Congress and urges support for legislation to increase pay and benefits. The Association is named after the Navy’s program for personnel transferring to the Fleet Reserve or Fleet Marine Corps Reserve after 20 or more years of active duty, but less than 30 years for retirement purposes. FRA membership is open to current and former enlisted members, active and reserve, of the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard. Branch 162 — The NOLA Branch of the Fleet Reserve Association,(Branch 162), is located on the Westbank of Greater New Orleans, at 703 Kepler St, Gretna, LA70053. Branch meetings are held on the third Friday of each month at 7PM. Unit 162 also meets on the third Friday of the month at 7PM. Membership in the Auxiliary of the Fleet Reserve Association is limited to spouses, parents, grandparents, sisters, brothers, children, stepchildren and grandchildren not less than 16 years of age of members of the Fleet Reserve Association and widows, widowers, parents, grandparents, sisters, brothers, children, stepchildren and grandchildren not less than 16 years of age of persons who were members at the time of death or eligible to be members of the Fleet Reserve Association at the time of death.
