Taco Del Mar

Very dirty! We like taco del mar & we where driving thru so we stopped for lunch. When we walked in there was people outside on their phones & they quickly came in. They were the employees! Looked like people off the street not professional at all. First thing I noticed it was dirty. Around the top of where the garbage goes was filthy dirty. Everything felt dirty. Totally lost my appetite & we left!

The staff always seems to be having a bad day, we are always polite and low-​maintenance but they are short, rude, and abrupt every time which is the reason we no longer go near this place, when you are made to feel as of you are inconveniencing someone who’s job is to make your food it becomes a very unpleasant dining experience, too bad because the food is good.

let me just say I do love Taco Del Mar’s food. It is pretty much the only Mexican food place that I eat at. But I really miss the one by Walmart on Sandy Blvd. So much better service and portions of food for the same price. And always clean.
I had a bad experience on the 4^th of July. I got to the Taco Del Mar in Gresham, at approx. 6:50 and there was a sign that they were closing at 7 that night. Fine. I was going to have the order to go anyway. I stand around for 5 minutes and the one employee had been in the bathroom. When she got back to fill my order she did not wash her hands. Thankfully she put on gloves otherwise I probably would have walked out the door.
She rushed me thru the order. Which I do understand. 2 more people came in after me. When she was ringing up my order she told the other 2 customers that when it was 7 they would have to leave because she could not take their order. One of the ladies said well I am taking it to go. She then told them that it should be a very small order of one item because it was almost 7 and they would have to leave even if the order was not done.
I thought this was very rude. I personally felt she should finish those customers orders because they were there before 7. If anyone came in after, then she could refuse or put a closed sign out.
but as a whole the place was very dirty. No napkins. There prices are the same, but your portions are a whole lot smaller.
So it is unfortunate. Because I do like their food, just not their service or cleanliness.

EVERY LITTLE THING IS AN EXTRA CHARGE! Apparently you cannot customize your order because they will nickel and dime every little change. None of these extra charges are posted by the way. Such a rip off!

I give props to the guy worker who was there by himself making everyone’s food due to his assistant having the flu! He sent her home and took care of everything! Delicious food too!!!

So this is your typical Taco Del Mar. This particular one is in the Fred Meyer shopping center building complex. A very crowded parking lot, by the way.
Choose your tortilla style, quac and sour cream are extra. Your choice of beans, add rice if you like, choose your meat. Beef, steak, shrimp, chicken, carnitas… I think that’s it. They may have more.
Then your toppings. Pick a sauce. Pick a side if you like. I go with chips and queso, but there are others.
Granted, it’s not all just Mission Style Burritos. You can get quesadillas, tacos, taco salads, other things like that. I just usually stick with the mondo burrito though, myself.
Pretty reasonably priced, always made in front of you and fresh. I like it a lot.

I have worked and lived all across the US and this is by far one of my favorite burrito fast food joints. Food is great, prices are awsome and staff treat you like friends. I eat lunch here about 2 times a month.

Been here 3 times… NOT A FAN! portions are small, prices are not good and the flavors sub par. Looking around the place, it was very dirty, the staff was rushed and they were not busy.
Would I go back? NO… some of the guys at the firehouse love it here but I am not a fan!

Gresham is a little limited on nutritious fast food options. So, that being said I do like this place for a light lunch. The burrito bar style is quick and easy and if you don’t load up on cheese, sour cream and guacamole you end up with a pretty low calorie decent meal. I do prefer Chipotle due to quality but you can’t go wrong here. Huge burritos, nachos, and great tasting tacos. Do love that they have fish tacos as well.
This location has great staff. They remember me and are super friendly.
Oh…and they do have good daily specials.

Pretty decent, customizable burrito. I’ve been 2 or 3 times. I love not being dissapointed by a flavorless burrito. And they have whole, black, OR refried beans. They’re huge, amazing, and they have daily specials like 2 for 1 fish tacos on Fridays. They have calorie information on the website.
I know it’s a chain, but their stuff is pretty fresh, and with all the choices, there is a way to make a DAMN tasty burrito. There is a lot of customization without being complicated, the staff is beyond amazing. Once there was a problem with the computer and it wasn’t ringing us up right, so we ended up in a fairly long video game discussion with the staff.
Anyway, I know it’s a chain, but I’ve decided I don’t care, it’s a freaking A-​OK burrito!

Amazing food, friendly staff, and available Gluten-​Free options (Their Baja Bowl is gluten free). Nice to be able to get something that is fairly safe for those of us who are gluten-​free, and also very tasty. Their Chipotle sauce is to die for!
