Food was above par. I ordered the meatloaf and hubby had the beef stroganoff. Excellent atmosphere, and the owner was very gracious and friendly. Service a little slow, but food is worth the wait.

At first I was a little disappointed with the service. It seemed like they forgot about our Table. It took awhile to get our water. We also ordered a bottle of wine, it took awhile to get that as well. To their credit they were extremely busy and once the water, wine and garlic bread arrived any negative thoughts went right out the door. YUM best garlic bread ever! Then came the Asiago/Caesar Salad(Delicious) next up Polenta: Top notch and finally the main course: Beef Stroganoff, one word Exquisite!!! The beef was filet mignon and it literally melted in my mouth. At the end of the meal the owner came to our table and we prodded him a bit and he gave a brief story on how he and his wife met and how the restaurant came to be. It was very cool and I highly recommend Mark’s Northwest Table.

This was our second time coming here for dinner, and both times were fabulous. This time I got to try the chocolate rub filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection. The cheesy garlic bread was SO good I could have eaten the whole basket myself. What an excellent value this gem of a restaurant is and the ambiance is so quaint and homey. I highly recommend this to anyone.

We love this place! Family owned and operated, the food is fantastic and very reasonably priced. We’ve been several times now, and had something different each time. We have yet to be disappointed! Service is a little slow, but this isn’t a fast-food joint. All around a great experience and we’ll be back.

They have great food, and their menu changes each season so there’s always something new.

Tried Marks for the first time tonight. It’s a quiet, homey little place. There were lots of older couples when my husband and I walked in, so I felt a little out of place. Their beer selection isn’t very good(only had two beers, both local and no domestics). The waiter wasn’t old enough to serve so he didn’t know the selection and he had to have someone come over and help us; that took a while. We ordered the antipasto salad(good), minestrone soup(okay), bread(buttery garlic goodness) and shared the beef stroganoff(tastes homemade — reminded me of my mom. She made amazing stroganoff and it’s one of my only good memories with her. I’ll save that story for a counseling joint review :)). The service was pretty slow and they were out of lemon cake(one of two desert options). Overall, I’d go back to pick up to-go food but I probably wouldn’t dine in again based on service and lack of availability of things I wanted to try(the cake!). The waiter was super sweet though.

I went here with my husband. I had a salad with no dressing put on, pasta that was not cooked or drained, which made the sauce runny. My salmon was so over cooked it was chewy. My bloody Mary tasted like tomato juice. I won’t be back,

How can a restaurant be out of 5 different things on a Friday night. Normally we have a great time here. You would think they would be stocked up for the weekend.

I really wanted to like the place, but didn’t. Downtown Gresham has so much potential for places just like this that work. This was a rare date night with wife. Made reservations. Interior is great, well decorated and intimate. First greeting was«boy we are having a bad night, how can I help you?» Took elongated time to even be offered drinks and then asked at same time for entrée orders… why the rush? Wife’s drink arrived at least ten minutes before my martini. Entrée orders: There are maybe 10 items in menu plus one special. Wife ordered special and I ordered regular item. Was immediately told some entrees were no longer available. She was not even sure about the daily special. Turns out special was still available by my entrée was not. Break. I selected an alternative and found out that was also not available. Had to ask what was available and that took a trip to kitchen. Turns out just three items remained. Choose same as wife and enjoyed a wonderful fresh spring dinner salad and scrumptious garlic bread(the highlights). Entrees arrived and found them Ok but not memorable(scampi). Ordered a glass of chardonnay with dinner. Guess what? No chardonnay available. I felt sad for the place. It has more than a ton of potential on a street with even more. But execution matters and, for tonight, execution was non-existent. Kudos for the salad, the bread, the décor and the potential. Minus points for not coming close to potential or a satisfying dining experience.

I brought the lady tonight for third Thursday. She ordered the ribs. I had the filet. They were very accommodating on changing a few of the sides for us. The meats were cooked perfectly to a nice tender bite. The drinks were good, great included salad and garlic bread. And all of it very reasonably priced Thanks Marks… Great evening

I’m glad others have had good dining experiences here but we did not. The service was very slow and the food was uninteresting to say the least. The salad was drenched in dressing, though they use good greens. The prawns seemed just dethawed and cooked with little thought. My husband’s steak which should have been rare was well-done. There’s more, but you get the idea. Our impression is that they have a cook and not a chef. A friend recommended it to us– they love it– but we won’t be returning. Maybe breakfast would be better.

My husband and I visited Mark’s Northwest Table for a rare Sunday morning with just the two of us. We were originally in the area for breakfast at Blue Bird which we found was closed for renovations. Needless to say we were hankering for a GOOD breakfast boasting fresh flavors – enter Mark’s. We were the first to enter, in fact, our waitress was still setting out the sidewalk flowers when we approached the front door(perhaps I was a bit zealous and hungry). Our waitress was a sweet and accommodating gal, both her and her co-waitress, were attentive and responsive to requests. Both gals, despite minor hiccups in service, made our experience pleasant and relaxing. Our food was spot on. My vegetable skillet and over medium egg was perfectly done. Knowing that the vegetables were probably precut to order I was not going to request to have the mushrooms removed but my husband gently insisted I tell the waitress my preference – she was more than happy to send along the request and when my food arrived all the mushrooms were removed. The vegetables were perfectly seasoned(see no added salt or pepper required) and cooked(both tender with a slight crisp to the bite). The combination of vegetables, potatoes and egg was satisfying and filling. My husband’s pancakes were quite good; they were not too sweet and not too heavy. We easily finished both our dishes between the two of us(which at a typical breakfast joint isn’t always possible – see mass amounts of simple sugars and fat). Additional factors contributing to our pleasant experience were the charming-quaint-home-kitchen environment and complimentary champagne that is apparently offered at every Sunday brunch(per our waitress). Although I didn’t take them up on the champagne this time around(think baby on the way limits alcohol consumption), I’m sure a year from now we’ll continue to explore the menu of Mark’s Northwest Table and I will be able to partake in champagne Sundays. Here’s to next time!

Tried about every place on this street except for this one and thought we’d give it a go. Atmosphere easy enough. We were greeted immediately and it was a sit where you like response. Hubby wanted a side of caesar salad and that just happened to be their salad of the day. So far so good. The outside has a menu that’s different from the inside. Keep that in mind. The menu does change which can be a good thing if you are using fresh ingredients. We were just glad that there were still some choices as we only eat vegetarian and fish/seafood. Had a glass of chardonnay while we waited. The price was only 6.00 and the portion was not wimpy. The wine was easy going down as well. Our salads arrived and the portions were decent. Usually you get caesars already mixed but this salad just had the dressing drizzled on it. We were not that fond of the dressing as it was very extra rich, creamy and salty. Not sure, but tasted like it was not made here. We did eat it all though. The greens were mixed and not romaine. We split the entrée which is a 3.00 plate fee as well as an extra 1.50 for the bread. The bread was a HUGE portion. just white toasted baguette with a garlic butter smeared. We STILL ate it all. They are extremely generous with their jumbo prawns. You get 3 skewers of 3 jumbo shrimp each. and they are not medium sized. they are a nice size. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and not overdone. Had a sweet taste to them. The«glaze» was not really a glaze but was drizzled over it. There were a little side of apricots as well as some banana chips. When all is said and done it’s another local American food restaurant on Main St. Local is nice but a little pizazz could go a long way here and maybe more focus on nouveau NW cuisine. Maybe just a little too«old school». This would include upping the background music to something more current as well. Paul Simon just only aggravated the atmosphere. Jazz or classical? Like I said though, we DID eat it all.

One of the few restaurants which has a beautiful rustic interior, instantly takes you back to the golden era of architecture. The coffee is brilliant, really enjoyed that. I really wish I could go on say the same for the food, but unfortunately the good things stop there. I got the omelet which was the no where near to my expectations. I got the same reply from my mates who tried the pork chops and some pan cakes. Fortunately the price was not expensive. This is a good place to have a glass of wine and enjoy the city and nothing more. For food I would try the next door.

Wonderful food and delightful atmosphere. If you are looking for a quiet, quaint, intimate restaurant. Chef made to order meal. Seasonal menu, fresh farm to table ingredients. Priced right. Homey feeling, delicious food plated beautifully. And they take reservations! I’ve had two dinners here this year and will be back again for brunch on Fathers Day,

We have only had the pleasure of two trips to Marks to date and both have been scrumptious. The home made cheese bread is amazing and the fresh salad that comes with dinner is very tasty. A little disappointed we came in too late for surf and turf or the coconut prawns, but understand that a small fresh food restaurant only has so many servings of each item. The filet was one of the best ever and no need for a steak knife. Give them a try and you will be hooked.

We wanted a hearty pot pie but didn’t find any reviews for Gresham, so we decided to try Mark’s. Score! The atmosphere is warm and unpretentious, the staff friendly and very competent, and the food, all fresh Northwest, far exceeded our expectations, We ordered the pork chops and the special, a buffalo loaf. The complimentary salad was perfect, with pears, pecans and sharp cheddar on fresh baby greens. The dinners came with a vegetable medley, nicely seasoned and not overlooked. Though the buffalo loaf was not my cup of tea, the pork chops were amazing! I had to share them after letting my husband taste them – hard to do, I confess. The menu has great offering, and we will return to try it again and to support a great family venture.

Based on the great reviews by other Unilocalers, a colleague and I ate here for a change of pace. What we found did not disappoint. The staff were friendly from the moment we arrived to the moment we departed. The ambiance felt like we were having a home cooked meal in your fun aunt’s dining room. What really earned the full five stars was the amazing food at great prices. Two entrees, an iced tea, and a glass of wine ran us $ 40. My colleague had the prawns, which had a nice Asian flare. I enjoyed the special, which was a gingerbread crusted pork. Both dishes were nothing short of amazing. I will go out of my way to eat here again.

A wonderful cozy restaurant with nice owners and amazing food. The owner introduced himself to us, explaining the menu and just giving us a small history about their restaurant. We received a bread basket and complimentary salad which was a nice start to the meal. I had the blackberry bbq ribs and my partner had the filet mignon. One bite and I knew the sauce and ribs were expertly cooked. The meat fell right off the bone, just like the owner said it would. My partner is still craving the filet mignon after. We had noticed in the décor that they really liked blackberries so when the server asked if we wanted to try their blackberry cheesecake, we had to. I am such a sucker for great cheesecake and they did not disappoint. Definitely coming back another time.
