Big Lots

Awesome deals, wonderfully friendly staff, cleanliness, selection and customer service second to none!

Never quite sure about this place… it’s just so strange. Such a strange assortment of items… couches, curtains, bird seed, coffee, outdoor seating???
On the upside… you can occasionally find good deals in here.
Couple hints when you go in:
1. Know your prices… some things aren’t as cheap as they seem.
2. Know your measurements… some things like curtains seem like a good deal and then when you measure them they are a bit odd.
I tend to buy some odd things regularly in here. Great deals on bird seed and the outdoor items when they go out of season.

Purchased a couch from this location. Great quality, great price. I LOVE IT! Dave (or David?) was who helped me. He was great! I highly recommend if you have any questions to seek him out. He knows the inventory off the top of his head & is full of suggestions & ideas. He is the #1 reason I will visit this location again!

There aren’t too many of these Big Lots in the metro area … 4 on this side of the Columbia River and a few others in «the Couv.» There’s one closer by on McLoughlin, but that’s a boulevard I try to avoid unless I’m looking at cars.
Big Lots is sort of like Dollar Tree except that they have things that could cost $ 100, or more. They also sell big ticket items at low prices. If you’re interested, they have good prices on useful things such as toaster ovens and a substantial selection of bedding given the size of the store.
I had a 20% off coupon that came in the mail and it was just laying around. I don’t like to get a tube of toothpaste as I’m about to run out, so I might stock up on toiletries and laundry supplies for a 4 or 6 month period. That’s kind of anal retentive, but it works for me.
I went in not knowing what to expect. The employees, whether on the floor or at the cashiering area, were very helpful. The store, together with the stores around it and the strip mall in general, were nicely maintained. I got the items I needed and, because of that coupon, the front door mat I bought was essentially free.
Also, I combined it with a trip to Del Taco, which is across the street and has good econo-​Mex grub.

I went in to check out a large patio umbrella I have kind of wanted to use for over our hot tub. Why not get it when it’s 20% off? Well they didn’t have it in stock. The sales clerk did check & let me know another one if there store had more of them in stock. He was very helpful. Just one more day to talk myself out of getting it because we’ve done without it so far. BUT I end up buying much more items, some I needed, a lot I just felt good about buying.
The variety of merchandise is crazy. They pretty much have a little bit of everything.
