Sitting here eating my first slice of Vito’s pizza and it is perfect the crust is thin and crunchy, great sauce and the slices are big. I’m a native New Yorker so I know authentic Italian food and this is it. I will drive out of my way to come back so here’s a big thanks to Vito for a great lunch.

Let’s be clear and honest. The high reviews about their pizza are planted from friends and family, just to get business from people that read Unilocal. Go purchase a bi-lo cheap frozen pizza. Eat it and remember the smell, texture and flavor. Then go eat pizza here. Tell me that their pizza isn’t from bi-lo next door. Go ahead, challenge me. There are some really great home made places in Greer, like Della Ventura. Others we are going to try. This one made my friend and I sick to our stomach. We have no problem eating a large pie, even from a chain like Pizza Hut! This was terrible. If you still decide to eat here, grab a bottle of tums, pepto b., and alka-seltzer. Never going here again, no exaggeration, it is that bad.

This place is a gem. Very authentic and delicious. Although pizza is their specialty, the pasta dishes are TDF. Go for the Frutti de Mare or Linguine with Clams. Yum. Excellent salad and bread also.

We went specifically for the thick crust pizza but we’re told we have to call it in 2 days ahead of time. The ambience was typical back east Italian. Pictures of Italy crowded onto the walls, red and white checked table cloths, family and friends in and out. A very pleasant young man served us and we had the thin crust pizza with bacon, mushrooms, and onions. The crust was more medium thickness, the sauce was good — tiny chunks of tomato in it, sweet, and not slathered on too thick. The other toppings were a little skimpy, especially the bacon. But now that we’ve gone there once I’m pretty sure we’ll go back and order double toppings. A small pizza 9″ was plenty for an adult man and a light eating woman. Next time we might add a salad. It was the best pizza so far(and we’ve tried a lot) in the Greenville area.

Good pizza but unfortunatly they do not deliver, Higher ratings if they deliver. Good crust, but skimpy on the ingrediants. They have thick crust on the menu for advanced orders or parties.

I’ve lived near Greer for almost a year and I’ve been wanting to try this place out so I finally did. I ordered a cheese calzone with mushrooms and grilled chicken added. The calzone was made with homemade dough and served with homemade marinara sauce. Altogether it was absolutely fantastic! It’s a REAL calzone with ricotta cheese inside which is what I look for in Italian and Greek restaurants. The waitress was extremely nice and gives you plenty of time to look over the menu and makes sure your glass is always full. It was an overall great experience and I look forward to going back and trying something different!

This restaurant has been around for years and unfortunately I waited this long to try it out. The décor is casual but classy with a soccer and Mediterranean theme. You seat yourself at either a table or a cozy booth against the wall. The waitress was genuinely friendly, and gave us plenty of time to order from the large menu. The menu has a large selection of authentic pastas, pizzas, calzones, subs and even veal. I ordered the rigatoni primavera which came with a salad and some homemade bread. The house dressing was excellent. A simple vinaigrette that was zesty but not spicy or too oily. There was a decent wait, not an annoying or long one but one which assured me the entrée would be fresh. My pasta was cooked perfectly al-dente and the whole experience was just great. The prices are a little high but *absolutely* worth it. Will definitely be seeing Vito again soon!

This place is amazing. Great Authentic Italian Food and Pizza. Great location off Hwy 29 in Greer, SC. Restaurant has a feel of Italy and New York when you’re there. The staff is great. Last time I was there we got the Spicy Shrimp Scampi, Clams Luguini and Eggplant Parmesan

Casual and authentic. Great service. The pizza was great and not overdone with too many toppings. Homemade meatballs and sauces. The pasta with olio and anchovies was great. It’s very close to the dept of motor vehicles, and sits on the end of the strip plaza tucked behind another large building with Wade Hampton frontage. Seat yourself and pay at the back counter.

Good pizza. We have never ate in at this place so can’t comment on the service. We typically pick up a pizza on the way home and each time they have always been really good. If you haven’t tried it you must.

Well we have a new Italian restaurant favorite. This is one of those delightful places where you can get great food at a good price. If you are a connoisseur of excellent Italian food, try this place out. It is clean, culturally relevant, and full of food. I had the Stromboli and it was delicious with a good balance of sauce, meat, and cheese. One of the best part of our experience was that the owner came out to make sure the food is exactly how you want it. And he is very intent on our delight. And that’s first class concern.

I can’t believe it took us so long to notice Vito’s — we’ve lived in the Greer area for over a year and have tried several Italian/pizza places around. We just noticed it at the end of the plaza where the BiLo is. Once we have now, we can’t wait to go back to try more of their menu items. It appears to be run by a family from the ‘Old Country’ because as we were dining, another group came in and the owner came out to greet them and they conversed a bit in Italian. It was a good sign. We just tried several items from the appetizer portion of the menu — mussels(red), side order of meatballs and garlic bread. And a nice bottle of Montepulciano(the price was great compared to what other restaurants charge). The mussels were excellent and good-portioned for $ 7.95. The garlic bread had a good portion of buttery garlic on it — you could smell it when it was served(we’ve been to a few places where they couldn’t have done much more than wave a buttered brush over the bread — and charged an exorbitant price). Again, we can’t wait to go back.

Love Vitos! It is close to my work and we order from there all the time. He has wonderfully yummy dishes that are reasonably priced for luch and dinner. His waitstaff is super friendly, cute little resteraunt, and Vito is typically in the kitchen cooking but always greets us. I love this place! If you love authentic Italian food this on the $.

Avoiding having to cook, we came here because it smelled so delicious from outside. The place is cozy and we got a booth right away. Service was pleasant. We each ordered a pasta dish with salad. My friend had angel hair with meat sauce and added meatballs to it. I had a tomato and basil angel hair pasta which our server recommend. When salads arrived, mine had a hair in it… right on top. I should have said something, but I was starving and looking forward to what promised to be a delicious dinner. So I pulled it out and tried the salad. A typical pizza place salad with un evenly cut veggies and cheap Italian dressing. It was edible, but unremarkable. I sampled the bread while we waited for our pasta. Honestly, not something I was thrilled with. Bland. But I’ve noticed most food in the south is. At this point, I’m still excited for pasta. I didn’t come in here for the salad or the bread. Pasta arrives… ugh. I’ve got a giant bowl of angel hair pasta tossed with diced raw tomatoes and garlic and TWO tiny pieces of minced basil. My friend puts the first meatball into his mouth and immediately spits it out on his plate. It’s literally hard as a rock. He actually tapped it onto the plate. We wanted to tell the server, but she didn’t return to check on us until AFTER our meal. Now, I’ve never had their pizza. So maybe that’s where I went wrong.

Calamari was not good. The garlic bread was an overly salted sub roll. My Italian sub was decent, although heavy on the onions, even though I ordered light onions. The staff was not very welcoming when I walked in, and they just stared at me as I walked to the counter. I will try the pizza at some point based on the other reviews. If the pizza is awesome, all will be forgiven.

Tried Vitos based on Unilocal review with great results. Great pizza with just right crust on pie and actual small pieces of tomato in the sauce. Pizza was done exactly at the 20 minutes the owner quoted on the phone. Great salad as mentioned in the other review. Grabbed a menu for my folks and will order again when I am in town

Tried this place for the first time tonight because they are close to where we just moved. We were hoping for a semi-decent place and it turns out we found a gem! The inside is really charming. The food is great. I love their Raspberry Vinaigrette! What I loved is that we ordered a small pizza and when he brought it to us, he made sure to show it to us to ensure it looked presentable for us! This is going to become a favorite I’m sure!
