I’m new to Greenwood so i used Unilocal to help me find a good bakery in the area for our birthday cupcakes. After all the outstanding reviews, I decided to give The Flying Cupcake a try. After all the rave reviews and how much I spent(almost $ 50!!!) for a dozen large cupcakes, We were all very disappointed. The cupcakes were very dry(not moist at all as stated in most reviews) and the icing was also stale. The top edge of the cupcake that wasn’t covered with icing was hard– almost like I was given day-old cupcakes. I’ve had cake from many bakeries(I’m a wedding photographer) and I can say these ranked less than average. Needless to say, I won’t be back and neither will my family. Time to find another place. Signed, –Dry and disappointed

The gluten free cupcakes are amazing. Having tried all sorts of gluten free products these definitely are at the tops of the list.

I LOVE that there is a now a southside location. I mean, my stomach is glad, but my hips(and my doctor) are not. They operate like the other locations-only have what they have until they are gone. You can check online for the dailies, but they always seem to have the birthday cake flavored(choc/choc or white/white, and I swear I’ve seen a white/choc??). The coconut one is always a good bet, too. I love their shops, so kitschy. They have such cute stuff available to buy, like retro looking plates and glasses, candy, or just random trinkets to go along with the cupcake you bought for a friend’s birthday! I also love them because a local business. :)

I’ve done a review a couple of years back about their old location. And we’ve tried this location the last year. At first it was really nice, the cakes and cupcakes were very moist. But we went back there yesterday with a bunch of our kids for a birthday party and the cupcakes were very dry, their bathrooms were really filthy! Unfortunately this will be our last visit! A bathroom tells you a lot about a place that serves food! I don’t mind old, but I think dirty is disgusting! And spending $ 15 on three cupcakes you would expect better!

My wife ordered 42 cupcakes in seven varieties for my 50th birthday party. They were a huge hit. They weren’t cheap, but damn they were good… :) The worst part was picking them up Thursday evening and not being able to eat one until the party on Saturday… My carrot cake cupcake was absolutely delicious! :)

I ordered cupcakes for my son’s 2nd birthday party and they were all fantastic! Our guests really enjoyed trying all of the flavors and all of them were a hit! Everything about The Flying Cupcake was superb, from the quality of the product to the friendliness of the staff. I intend to be a regular customer and will recommend them every chance I get.

Yay! The Flying Cupcake is exquisite. I like their Greenwood location because it has accessible parking and is nearby many eateries. Their variety is decent but it depends on Heng day — check the Facebook page because the favors change daily and then call to double check they haven’t run out of your favorites because that is always a sad thing!

I have to say, I’m a little less impressed than I thought I would be. I went ahead & got a cupcake, even though they were sold out of gluten free. I had a «Here Comes the Bride». It was a little dry & crumbly. Not worth $ 3.75!

Dude. The cupcakes are always delicious and they have a pretty good variety even close to when they close. The atmosphere is incredibly cute and I love the setup of the entire shop. The unique flavors of cupcakes paired with the quality are worth the price.

Cupcakes are very good but the girls who work at this location are pretty awful. It’s very obvious that they would rather be anywhere else than helping you. So while the cupcakes are good, I don’t stop in as often as I might.

YES! The Flying Cupcake on the southside! The pretty in pink will always be my favorite cupcake. Cute store and nice location right off of 31 south.

SO happy to have The Flying Cupcake on the south side of Indianapolis. These cupcakes are the perfect consistency with just the right amount of icing — you really can’t go wrong with anything in here, and there really is something for everyone. They announce flavors daily on their Facebook page so you know what to expect, and it’s a little something different every day. A great addition to the southside and an absolute must for visitors in the area.

This fat kid loves cake and The Flying Cupcake does it right! I am currently geeking out over their Harry Potter Butterbeer cupcake. I am hoping it will become a regular. I also love the Fat Elvis honestly how can you go wrong with peanut butter and bananas. The décor is absolutely adorable and they even have a small selection of novelty gift items like cupcake flavor breath mints.

I normally am not a fan of places like this, but I have to say that these were really good cupcakes! We purchased a Carmel Apple Spice, Here Comes the Bride, Koo Koo for Coconuts & Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, all very good, moist cupcakes with lots of tasty icing. Really cute place too! Will definitely visit again!

The other day I finally made it to one of these stores for a delicious cupcake creation. It was so difficult to choose what to eat that I just ordered the first thing that caught my extended stare or interest and it was very tasty(pumpkin cupcake). However I have to say everyone behind the counter was quite friendly, but my actual server was not the most desirable. I do not find it the least bit appetizing when the person serving me is studded with both a lip and mouth piercing and maybe even a nose piercing. It has somewhat of a shock value and appetite loss for me when I order.

Cute shop, great location. The flavors of the cupcakes were good, but the texture of the Happy Birthday to Me was on the dry side. The chocolate frosting was incredibly rich but really yummy. I’ll definitely eat the other half. Pricing is pretty reasonable.

My family and I decided to give this place a try after dinner tonight, glad we did! They have a good selection of cupcakes and all with creative names to go along with the cupcake. I got the Burt Reynolds, it was very tasty! My wife tried the Here Comes the Bride, she loved it! Our kids got this ginormous cookie which we made them share and they still couldn’t finish it! They staff are very friendly and the place is well kept up. If you’ve never tried them out I recommend them, you won’t be disappointed!

The best treats on the southside! I highly recommend the«Fat Elvis» which is a moist banana cupcake with a portion of Nutella filling. I love the combination of those two flavors! You’ll love this place even more as you keep trying the wide variety that they have to offer. They keep a fresh, new batch in stock and keep creating new, exciting cupcakes. Check back on the Facebook page and website to see which flavors are at the store that day. Taste and quality = top notch! Sometimes I don’t feel like eating icing, so I can scrape off some without feeling guilty. I’m still eating good cake. It’s not like Ritters where employees will bathe your small portion of ice cream with multiple sweet sauces — way too sugary sweet and nearly ruined! What about appearance of location and price? I believe that the prices are reasonable. For a treat, it’s about average(maybe a little cheaper) in comparing to places like Baskin Robbins, Orange Leaf, and Dairy Queen. The location is good… it’s in the heart of a fast-paced City of Greenwood. Keep it up!

I always wanted to try this place out when it was in a truck in the Greenwood Park Mall parking lot. Now that they have their own store my wife and I decided to give them a try. We’re glad we did! Their cupcakes are very good! They’re moist and have tasty icing. I tried the Red Velvet Elvis and my wife tried the Happy Birthday to Me. Both were very delicious. Very glad we tried this place out!

What what!!! Forget the food truck at the mall. Welcome to the south side! We need local businesses. These cupcakes are fab! Huge selection of flavors. Moist cake. Perfectly sweet but not to sweet icing. Plenty of options flavor wise. From your basic white or chocolate to mint chocolate. There are vegan cupcakes and gluten free ones as well! Lord this is to close to home! Yay cupcakes!
