Bad service and I really didn’t like my server’s attitude. It bothered me the whole time I was there. Food is over priced for what it is. My 31 dollar tiny medium rare filet mignon was burnt too much and hard as a rock on the outside but they still served it to me. I honestly would not pay a dollar for that tough meat. Seriously it was the worst meat in my life.

Fantastic food at good prices. Our group of six enjoyed wonderful food and great service. I was sad when LeCentral closed but Sansone’s is my new favorite place to dine.

I chose this place for my restaurant week dinner because it was the only one that came up when I searched the phrase gluten free. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. There were a few gf options, even on the limited restaurant week menu. When they brought the bread for my husband, they brought me some gf crackers. That’s never happened before! I ordered the Hangar steak. It was pretty tasty, but a little overdone for my taste. The edges were crispy. I loved the squash side! The drinks were reasonably priced, and I am always happy when I can have a Moscato. Dessert was delicious, but skimpy. With the drinks, tax and tip, our $ 60 meal came close to $ 100.00. Ow. Still, I’d like to go back and try their early bird menu. Service was impeccable.

Loved loved loved this place!!! My husband and I went for Restaurant Week, mainly because of the location closer to our house, the menu they had to offer for Restaurant Week, and the great reviews it has received on Unilocal! It beat every expectation we had. That being said, don’t let the outside of the restaurant deter you. It is located in a small little strip of shops/restaurants on University, but the inside is quaint and inviting. As for the food, we started with the gnocchi and greek meatball appetizers and we both licked the plates clean. The gnocchi was in a spicy sauce and paired with cantaloupe for sweetness, an amazing combination. For dinner I ordered the pork tenderloin, which was one of the best pork dishes I have ever had and my husband ordered the Osso buco and finished his entire plate. Instead of a dessert, we started with the beanless chili, which I could have eaten the entire pot of. Needless to say, we will be visiting Sansone’s again very soon. Thank you for the great experience and date night!

Fantastic service, wonderful food, and a quiet intimate atmosphere. Truly a great place for a lovely dinner. The duck and the lamb chops were AMAZING!

Everything was amazing. Had the escargot to start, garden salad, and roasted duck and weiner schnitzel for our main meals. Everything was incredibly tasty. Service and atmosphere can’t be beat. We will be back!

Yummy Extremely surprising this place ! The Calamari and Mussels Provençal were amazing ! I think all of us enjoyed our entrées also very much. It was amazing that the Chef Kevin came out to say hello and asked how he felt about his great food. It is rare these days that A restaurants chef comes out and asks anymore. I’m a little old-fashioned and I think it’s great. A great experience for my friends on my sisters birthday! Yeah !!

Went here with my boyfriend to celebrate 5 years and we are sure glad we chose Sansone’s Bistro! The calamari app that we ordered was probably the best we have ever eaten. Also, I ordered the Crispy Duck for my main course and it was absolutely amazing. We ordered the Grand Marnier soufflé to share to finish off our meal and it was the perfect end to the experience. We are glad we splurged and will definitely be back!

The bread that they brought out was good. I started with a garden salad with strawberry vinaigrette which was yummy. Everyone else’s salad had green olives, but mine which was disappointing. Share the olives! Then I had the salmon with the nilla wafers, which was excellent. Disappointing that the salmon was not wild caught given all the bad publicity of farm raised.

Very nice little place. The food is very good with generous portions. My only complaint is that it is a little slow, but I suppose that’s because everything is made fresh to order.

I. Love. Sansonnes. This little bistro beats the flashy over-priced chains that try to be upscale hands-down. The staff makes you feel like an honored guest. The chef is so gifted, and puts lovely hints of herbs into his creations that keep you guessing. The menu has new additions regularly. Its small and quiet, so you need not yell over your table to the folks you are with. There is no rush. We often are headed somewhere afterward, but for the times we are not, I always feel like we could sit there all evening, and they would not mind. Overall…a huge hit, and great place to add to your favorites, and then you can write your own glowing review!

It was a good dining experience –we had some wine before dinner and the waiter brought it over to us I had the lobster ravioli and my friend had the salmon bulla. The hey we’re both good! We topped it off with chocolate mousse. I just wished that their hours were open longer.

Rude waitress and dry and blend food. Salmon was over cooked; lamb was dry; ravioli was blend; filet mignon was chewy. Deserts were blend and dry too. Waitress started with«high folks» as if in a tucker cafeteria… One got a starter and finished before the other got their starters. Just when it was time to get a soup, it was not there anymore(it was a special and we were the 4th table in the restaurant…). Other people in restaurant left their meat on the plate as well… Very expensive for average food and bad service.

Great place for a romantic dinner for two at a surprising price. We had drinks at the bar until our reservation time our bartender let the hostess know to seat us. The escargot was very nice and the crowd was older but I was too busy enjoying our meal and my wonderful wife. I would recommend the Veal Piccata and pre-order a soufflé. Even though the Salmon Nilla was a creation it was too sweet for my taste. Overall a wonderful time. The chef came by to make sure we enjoyed our experience.

Went with a friend during restaurant week. Absolutely charming little«find». Easy to locate, easy parking situation. Felt comfortable as soon as we walked in. Greeted by the owner, really nice! Pairings and flavors were fantastic. We both had the filet mignon and it melted in our mouths. For dessert we shared the brownie, which was dense and decadent as well as the grand mariner soufflé. Both were wonderful! I love that it has the cozy ambiance you would expect to find in a small, family run business, but leaves you feeling treated.

Two words — Lobster Ravioli! Rockstar. I basically licked the plate clean. This is a great place to go and support a local owned restaurant. This are small, so make a reservation if you can, but they are worth the wait! They have a wide variety of items to choose from, but did I mention that the Lobster Ravioli is excellent. Yum!

As in the past, the food and service was impeccable. The owner is on the floor constantly making sure that everything is perfect for his guests. I was also very impressed with the pride exhibited by the employees. I highly recommend Sansone!

We came here for Restaurant Week. We were looking for something outside of downtown, and the reviews here were rather good. I am very glad we went here. We had a chance to chat with chef/owner Robert Sansone and his gracious wife, Erica. It was very nice meeting them, and I can see they take a lot of pride in their restaurant. Our server for the meal, Jessica, was excellent. We were a party of four, and I was able to sample several dishes. For your three choices here, you get an appetizer, an entrée, and somewhat uniquely, for your third choice you get to choose between a salad, soup, dessert, or a glass of wine. This allows you to decide if you are more hungry, thirsty, or wanting to indulge your sweet tooth. They also had wine specials for $ 7 – 8 per glass or $ 25 for the bottle. We killed two bottles of a nice Malbec(the Alta Vista) from Argentina. It was a well-rounded and soft red wine. For my starter, I went with the Italian Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms(Three Crimini mushrooms stuffed with spicy Italian sausage and drizzled with our homemade Bleu cheese dressing). The sausage is made locally, was nicely spicy and flavorful, and went well with the shrooms. I was able to taste the B’stillas(Moroccan Chicken and Almond pie). I have had this dish before at Morrocan restaurants and this tasted as I remembered. I also helped my friend with his Pâté de Foie de Canard(Smooth, rich, and decadent duck liver mousse served with Lingonberry jam, Dijon mustard, chopped egg, red onion and rice crackers). I wish that I had been adventurous enough to order this dish. I was afraid it would be «too livery». However, it was amazing. Rich, flavorful, well-spiced, complex. .. very impressive. For my main course, I opted for the Pork Cassoulet(A rich, slow-cooked casserole originating in the south of France). It was a rich and creamy dish with nice notes of salty pork and reduced beans and veggies. I liked it, but would probably not order it again. I had some of the Varenga(Roasted shredded Beef in the classic style of Madagascar) my friend ordered. This was like an exotic pot roast, and was a lot of meat. What I almost ordered, and wish I had, was the Sansone’s Chicken(Artichoke Sautéed Chicken and Artichokes in Lemon Sherry Butter). This was reminiscent of a Chicken Piccata. The chicken was fork tender, über moist, and the artichokes and lemon sherry butter brought a wonderful sourness to the dish. Both the chicken and the beef came with a side of African Broccoli. This was marinated in mayo and sour cream(I believe that was what they said) and had aggressive coriander flavors. I really enjoyed this side. They also had four desserts to choose from(two of them were bread puddings). I went with the chocolate cream pie, and it was a nice way to end the meal. I will definitely be back again.
