My daughter was not feeling well so I asked them to pack my meal to go. I just got home to find they had put pubic hairs in my pasta. One I found in my teeth and the second was the photo that I’m going to try to attach. Everyone else that stayed to eat thought it was not great. Under par and overcharged. You’re better off finding a different place there are enough to choose from.

Headed to CT from Newark and needed some dinner. 8 pm on a Sunday night isn’t the easiest time. Found this little gem based on reviews. Had the lasagna, chicken parm and ravioli special. Food was amazing! Glad I read that there was a dining room behind the counter, because you have to know its there. We’d definitely go again.

I’ll keep this short. Pasta Vera has the best cheesecake… ever. Ricotta, Italian, light and exceptionally delicious. And the tortellini salsicce forti e funghi porcini will blow your mind. Not for the weak of heart. The end.

Dinner began with fresh, hot bread served with garnished olive oil. Then came crips salads with Gorgonzola cheese in a boat! Very generous… I had the cavatelli con escarole e fagioli. It was bursting with flavor. The restaurant in the back of the store is very Greenwich: decorated to the nines, and very tasteful. The service was very good. I believe the fact that one can eat dinner here is a bit of a hidden gem, and a five-star one, to boot!

You might think this is only a take out place, but for those who don’t know, it has a good sized dining room in the back. This is some of the best Italian food in the Greenwich, Port Chester, Stamford area. Always fresh pasta. Nice selection of wine, a great desert list… trust me if you like Italian food you must try it! Lunch and dinner and take out. Excellent service! I like the linguini con vongole(clams in either white wine or red sauce). Excellent ready to go take out selection if you don’t want to eat in.

Been going since 1995 and love their food. The Tortellini Al Pesto which is no longer on the menu is my absolute favorite! They still can make the dish. The service and wait staff are awesome. There is a reason they’ve been in business since 1987!!! Even after 21 years I am equally as excited if not more excited to indulge!

I’ve been coming here since they first opened. Great spot for italian food. My fav is the pollo a la pesto. The pesto cream sauce is just delicious. They have a big selection of pre made food available in the front case, so it gets pretty busy during the lunch rush. I should note though that the last few times I ordered my beloved pesto pasta there was WAYTOOMUCHSAUCE. It was drowning in sauce, more like pasta pesto soup! I will keep coming here bc I love the food but they really need to pay more attention to the details these days.

I kept passing this place thinking that it’s an Italian market for some reason. probably because of its storefront that looks like a grocery store with a few grocery items. Anyway. there’s a good size dining room in the back; clean and cozy. We both craved for pasta and didn’t feel like going to the usual ‘Terra’ on the avenue. This place is a bit more low key and casual. Pasta Vera offers plenty of pasta dishes and other Italian goodness. I went with cheese tortellini with hot sausage, porcini mushrooms in olive oil and garlic sauce. It was good, but didn’t quite blow me away. Cheese tortellini was too al dente for my liking, but my Italian companion said that’s how pasta should get cooked. Welp, that’s just my preference. not liking it too firm. The sauce was good and flavorful though. I will definitely return again.

A truly exceptional authentic Italian meal at a reasonable price. As someone who grew up with Italian cooking I was happy to see escarole and cannelloni beans in several dishes. My chicken dish was cooked to perfection and was delicious. Would absolutely recommend.

Everything was delicious! I tried the smoked mozzarella chicken special of the day served with homemade potato gnocchi that was to die for, and my friends ordered the ravioli di funghi(amazing as well) and the linguini with clams. We were quite satisfied with the service too! Extremely attentive to our needs and polite. Brought out the check not too soon(so we didn’t feel rushed), but we also didn’t have to ask. I would definitely go back. The homemade biscotti we shared with cappuccinos after our meal were also amazing. They were soft and the perfect amount of sweet. Highly recommend those for dessert, since you’ll most likely be stuffed from your dinner!

One of standout and long-term restaurants on the Ave. Go there frequently, especially for lunch, and the food is consistently fresh and innovative, and has to be the fastest table service in Greenwich, so no problem getting in and out quickly. Friendly and efficient service.

We were on our way to UCONN and decided to stop in Greenwich to break up the ride from South Jersey and boy were we glad we stopped. This place was excellent and could hold its own in S.Philly. I had the pasta with beans and escarole and it was terrific, we couldn’t stop dipping out bread in the sauce, old world Italian. My wife had the ravioli and it was just as good. Plus you get salads with your entrée and that to was excellent. Guess what, this won’t be the last time we stop here on our way to UCONN!

Worst customer service experience! We went to this place for the fist time on Monday around 2pm or 3pm there were no customers other that us. There were 3 or 4 employees by the door and none of them said anything to us, not even a «hello». We had to sat down on our own waiting for someone to approach us. It took 10 min for the server to come to the table, and not even greet us or made eye contact. When we asked a question about the menu he replied with attitude and rudeness. We decided to walk out. Being acknowledged as a customer is generally a nice thing. It makes you feel that you are valued, and that’s the experience a customer should feel this way.

Delicious!!! I went with a group of 4 for a late dinner on Friday night. The staff was attentive and took our orders promptly. The place came highly recommended and I could see why. Upon walking in it almost looks like a deli but as you walk towards the back you see tables for dining. This place truly is a gem. I was told the pasta is homemade. I ordered the cheese tortellini with hot sausage and porcini mushrooms in a cream sauce. I fell in love instantly. The sauce was perfect and they were very generous with the sausage. I filled up quickly but made sure to take the rest home. My friend ordered the bistecca with ghnocchi which was also delicious(i tried a bite) Im fortunate to have good friends to make great recommendations. If you’re considering dinner there, GO! I will be sure to go again the next time I’m in Ct.

Amazing– everything tastes home made and delicious. I get the Lasagna Bolognese and one of their fabulous veggies every week– no joke. So far(in my humble opinion)– they have the best prepared/take out food in town.

I believe this is one of the best restaurants in Greenwich. Family owned for over 25 years their pasta is made fresh and there is no beating it. I’m a die hard fan. Try the escarole and bean or one of their freshly made salads… Amazing. Whenever my family is around we always stop in. It’s our second home.

I have had good meals here. The atmosphere is nice and romantic but on the occasions I’ve been there the service was snobby and rude. There’s a touch of arrogance that I guess is attributed to the area. If I lived in Greenwich I don’t know that I could get used to that type of attitude. The food; however, was really good. The ravioli was everyone’s favorite. Ive tried both the cheese and mushroom. The texture of the pasta was perfect and the sauces were addictive. A veal dish with sundried tomatoes and pancetta was also excellent-again the wine sauce was great. I have also had the fish of the day and it was good. The broth that they serve with it is nice. Overall a good place. Prices are what you’d expect for the area.

The brussel sprouts are incredible. Great chicken parm(and I’m Italian). The service is REALLY slow but it’s just so good.

The food here is solidly good, cooked very competently overall. On the regular, back of the restaurant menu, I would particularly recommend the pesto tortellini. One exception that I would never order again was the watery and relatively flavorless Penne Alla Vodka. Where the place definitely falls short is the service, which comes with a major highfalutin attitude very indicative of its location, smack in the heart of one of the most blowhard-dense towns on the East Coast. I’m sure I am a mark for obviously not being a Greenwich-resident as soon as you lay eyes on me, and the folks behind the counter made that quite evident on every occasion I dealt with them. Do I need the pink cardigan to get even a trace of friendliness? Also it was a lil dopey in my opinion that you are not allowed to sit and eat any of the offerings from the front deli counter, all of which were quite good and completely different each day, in the back restaurant area, even when the place was near empty. If you want to stay you are tethered to the restaurant menu which seemed to change little from day to day, and when I asked about this, I was looked at with an aghast expression as if I had just asked if I could smoke crack in the restaurant. Sorry for the crazy question ladies… What ever happened to the old mantra of the customer is always right?
