I love this place for produce. It’s cheaper than the grocery store. It doesn’t look as nice as pictures though. They have an ugly table for bad fruit and veggies where you can get some good deals on slightly over ripe food. I don’t know if it’s the new workers or what, but they have been leaving a lot of old peppers and avacados out. You might have to go to grocery store after going to them since they don’t keep up with how fresh all the produce is. Be sure to check out boobzilla’s highly inappropriate tank tops!

I thought i would try this place out. Hearing about their veggies and fruits. I was ignored and had to search for bags for my beans, squash, tomatos. Then went to check out and stood in a line 15 minutes if not more. The place looks pretty busy and i just don’t know why they have one checkout. The Rasman says if you have time to kill and want to save a few bucks try it out yourself. I on the other hand will pay the extra few bucks just to get in and out in a timely fashion. So when we pass by here again that’s exactly what we’ll do, straight to Publix.

The Tomatoe Vine(this is how their sign spells it) is a great little open-air produce market! I checked it out one day based on the reviews here and was definitely not disappointed. Fruit and vegetables are often very expensive at the store, and I have been looking for a cheap place to find them. This place definitely has great prices on produce, with most of it being at least half the price of Ingles or Publix. They have a pretty wide selection of fruits and vegetables, carrying more of what is in-season at the time. The only thing I find a little lacking is their selection of salad greens, although they have a great prices on cooking greens. In addition to produce, they had a small selection of cured pork, cheese, butter, and jams. If you don’t mind«ugly» produce, they also have a table where you can pick up some of these things for very cheap. Finally, I think it’s important to point out that they do take credit cards. However, I will warn you that they do charge you the fee to use it, although it is pretty small(around 50 – 75 cents, depending on how much you purchase). This is now my go-to place for produce.

Great stand for local produce, eggs, and even meat. Not only is it cheaper than grocery stores, but they have a great selection of unusual stuff as well, like apple-pears, purple sweet potatoes, and others that grocery stores, other than Whole Foods, rarely have if ever. They also carry local made jams, jellies, butters, etc. My only complaint is on a weekend afternoon with a long long line, they had 1 register open for a good 20 mins before opening a second. They now accept debit and credit as well.

The Tomato Vine is a dandy roadside market on Old Buncombe Road in Greenville. They are licensed and carry a wide variety of fresh fruit and vegetables. The quality and prices are much better than the typical grocery store. E.g., a large bunch of beets(about 7) was $ 1.99 at The Tomato Vine, whereas a small bunch(about 3) was $ 2.98 at the grocery store. You must be prepared, however, to pay with either cash or check(no debit or credit cards). But this is understandable when you consider that businesses must pay extra fees for the cards, which would mean that we might not be able to benefit from the lower prices.
