Tan-N-Bed

The place is nice but… Their customer service could really use some help!!! I got my debit card charged for more than I had purchased. Tried to bring it up to manager but got no results!!! Also if you are not the apparent «college age» 25 or younger you’re basically just invisible or a problem. A college age person was in front of me to check in and the person at the register was just as sweet as can be until it was my turn… then it was just… Can I help you? Granted I had been coming in for at least a month but her attitude and affect was completely flat, dry and flat out rude!!! My hard earned money will never be spent there even if they were the last place on earth!!! My review is –99. Even though Unilocal is making me give this business a star when it is not worthy of 1 star!!!

From the outside, this tanning salon does not look like much of anything, but when you go inside, it is quite a remarkable setup. I used Tan-​N-​Bed for several months while I lived in Greenville, NC. My previous tanning experience was in California where I used the Saturn high-​pressure booth, a stand-​up tanning booth frequently called the best tanning equipment on the market. I was both surprised and excited when I learned this salon had a Saturn booth.
Using a Saturn for tanning is always more expensive than a regular tanning bed or booth. The Tan-​N-​Bed, however, helped offset this cost by including it in their Platinum monthly membership plan. Basically, I paid $ 65 a month for unlimited use of the Saturn (and any other machine I may wish to use). This was an excellent deal, and one I had never seen or heard of before or since (typically ONE session costs an average of $ 30). I tanned typically 2 – 3 times per week so I obviously was getting a very good deal.
I always found the staff friendly and helpful. The salon itself was always sparkling clean with fresh towels in every room as well as body spray/​deodorant. The only thing I did not like was some of the nickel-​and-​dime things the salon did. For example, if you forgot your membership card, you were charged a dollar. They didn’t replace it — the charge was to look it up. The lotions are way over-​priced, but this is not unique to this salon; all salons mark these up a ridiculous amount.
All in all, this is an excellent tanning salon — and probably the best offered in Greenville. Top-​notch equipment, well maintained and clean, and a friendly staff!
