This is my new favorite restaurant! The food is fresh and delicious, the portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the service is excellent. I’ve tried the shoyu ramen and the tonkotsu ramen. My favorite so far was the tonkotsu– rich, creamy broth, tons of perfectly cooked noodles, and lots of tasty vegetables. I like extra nori with mine. The staff are very friendly and willing to answer any questions about the menu. Service was fast and the restaurant itself is spotless. I love the fact that they are open for Sunday dinner. It’s the perfect way to end the weekend!

This was the best Japanese ramen I ate in US. And really cheap!

If you’ve ever had ramen in a big city, this is not what you would call ‘ramen’. I was warned, but I wanted to try it. I had the Shoyu ramen and the broth was so bland I added salt and pepper. The noodles are thick and too dense. It came with three thin slices of pork and half of a previously cooked«soft boiled egg», the yolk was rubbery and the egg white tasted strongly of soy sauce. The pork was chewy and flavorless. I give two stars because it only cost $ 7.50.

I’m grateful this place opened. It is the closest I’ve seen here to a Yokohama ramen shop, which is something I’ve missed since my last trip to Japan. If you’re expecting a full range Japanese restaurant, you may be disappointed. However, the ramen here does not disappoint. They have the usual range of pork, chicken, beef, and vegetarian choices, as well as a nicely spicy pork(my favorite). Outside of ramen, they also have a good looking Japanese style beef curry rice, though I have not personally tried it(yet). It’s also worth mentioning that they have several soft drinks and green tea imported from Japan, including Ramune soda and the famous Calpis(as Calpico).

I love this place! The ramen is so tasty and I’m a big fan of their Japanese bread with the sweet red bean paste inside of it. Service is always quick too, which is awesome if you’re really«hangry». One of my new go-to places to eat.

Itadakimasu! From a bright cheerful greeting to delicious food, you have found your Ramen fix in Greenville! That’s right, stop reading and go get you some Ramen from Menkoi! Fine, I will elaborate more, but it is cutting into your Ramen enjoyment time! One dreary Sunday afternoon, my gf and I are looking for something good, something almost… delectable even. We had been binging on Naruto on Netflix and naturally the idea came up. We found Menkoi and gave it a try. Are we ever glad we did! The outside is warm and inviting while almost looking very traditional. Inside you will be genially greeted by one of the very attentive staff. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen my first time and the gf got the Shoryu Ramen. Both were delicious and the staff was very attentive on your needs. The second time(see? it’s always good if you go back!) I got the chicken Ramen and the gf for the Tonkotsu because it is so good! They also have fountain drinks and ramune drinks for those that enjoy them. If you are looking for Ramen, or don’t know what Ramen is and just want delicious soup with delicious ingredients in said soup, Menkoi is your place! I can’t wait to go back myself!

Love this place. Small shop, but with fantastic food and a cozy feel. If you’re a ninja, you’ll love their ramen — believe it! On a scale of 1 – 10, I’d rate the food over 9000.

I picked up some spicy ramen and tonkotsu for my family. Definitely a lot of noodles, flavorful broth, and super tender meat. I’m glad a place like this opened in Greenville! The staff was really nice. Definitely will be a regular here.

Came here for a late night bite to eat. Not familiar with ramen and the employee was very helpful! He recommended the spicy ramen and I don’t care for spicy so he recommended the #3 which was the same without the spice! I got it and the serving is very large! Big bowl of broth and noddles with meats and extra add ons at a reasonable price! It was very good and filling! The employee’s customer service was great! He checked on us numerous times to make sure we enjoyed everything. We will be back!

First time here… don’t have anything to compare it to, but I ordered the spicy ramen with chicken, broth was super flavorful with just enough spice, could have had more fresh veggies… and honestly could have done without the egg it didn’t look very appetizing! The girl behind the counter told me the broth is made fresh daily! YUM! Oh also had the gyoza(dumplings) they were delish! Will definitely be back!

So I’ll be honest, it’s not quite as good as Ramen houses in some of the bigger cities, but it’s pretty damn good for our area! I’ve come here several times and I’ve found the food to be quick& satisfactory, and the staff to be friendly. They have several apps and beef curry as well. The beef curry is spicy however, which I don’t like, but it was so tasty, I finished the whole thing! Oh! And they have Calpico here! And for those of you complaining about fatty pork, don’t go to Asian restaurants LOL.

So this is my third time and last time here. I have always ordered soup and been pleased with the portion size. Tonight I ordered the beef curry rice for 7.50. I asked the young lady about portion size and her answer was it is just the perfect portion. So I decided to try it. There was literally 4 dime size pieces of a meat type substance. When I asked the cashier about this she stated, «This is how much the owner makes us put in. Well there is no way this is a good size portion. So this was my last time coming here!!!

Very happy to have a little taste of Japan nearby! I miss living in Japan and this place has a good ambience and carries the best bottled green tea! My only suggestion is that they create more vegetarian or vegan options moving forward.

Stopped in for lunch here, and was pleasantly surprised. I am a huge, huge fan of soup. Particularly all the wonderful flavors of Asian soups. There are a few places in town to get decent ramen, but this is the first here dedicated to ramen. We ordered both a soy based ramen and a pork based ramen soup. Next time I will probably stick with either the pork or the spicy broth, but there is something to be said for the simplicity of a soy based sauce, and the version here is a good one. Both soups were a little skimpy on meats, but the flavors are there. I also really like the place itself, with both table and high top bar seating. Great use of a relatively small space.

It’s about time that our little city of Greenville received a Japanese Ramen place. I order the Tonkotsu because it’s just freaking delicious. I judge Ramen by 2 things: the noodles and the broth. Those are the most important components in the soup and if those are good then it’s good. The service, food, and prices are great. They close at 11pm everyday which is awesome for people(like me) who get that late night craving. Just go and get yourself a bowl.

The cold summer noodles and salmon rice balls are the best items so far to me on the menu. Tonight i had the Shoyu Ramen. The soy based soup lacked flavor to me. And the pork came out fatty. In fact even my son remarked how fatty the pork was and didnt eat his. What a waste of $ 30!!! Very disappointed bc the reviews for the ramen are so good for here. But it really lacked any sort of flavor or pop. Not sure where all these good reviews are coming feom. Maybe its me. Please consider keeping the cold noodles dish as it has the most flavor and taste of anything.

Great experience all around. I don’t know enough about authentic ramen to speak knowledgeably about that aspect but everything tastes great. I got the vegetable ramen with the regular broth(chicken, pork and beef). Seems that the a/c is currently down but that’s the only negative thing I have to say about this place so far. Will definitely be back!

Went today 06÷29÷15 for lunch, heard it just opened last week. They have not changed the Divine Dessert sign outside(see photos). Ordered #5 Spicy Pork Ramen Noodles. Order takers were friendly .It came within 5 – 6 minutes . The broth was delicious and the yellow egg noodles were tasty. Don’t even compare the ramen noodles from those 11cent package you buy at the groceries. I could have used more green veggies but at $ 7.75 I can’t complain. Next time, I will get extra order of veggies. This place is one of three noodle houses, the other two are in Columbia and Charleston. I would give this place a 4.5 stars but I don’t know how to do that . Will definitely recommend this place and I will try other ramen and maybe try the gyoza. A good addition to the Woodruff Road shopping area, will be popular when the weather gets colder.

Better than eating ramen at a sushi restaurant – but wish it had some more authentic traits. It’s good, and authentic don’t get me wrong – but what makes a good ramen good in Japan, NYC, LA is still lacking(toppings are limited, cannot adjust spice(chili oil/vinegar missing from table), etc. but it just opened – I’m excited to come back again and see if they add more options to their ramen!

Solid ramen! The only other ramen I’m comparing this to is from Ippudo in NYC. That is by far the best I’ve ever had. Menkoi ramen is about 7/10ths to the best I’ve had. I ordered the tonkatsu and it delivered. The broth wasn’t as rich as I’d hope for but everything else hit the spot. I’ll go back to sample the other varieties they have. Staff are friendly and service is quick. They know what they’re doing. The menu is simple offering a variety of broths and styles. Bowl portions are huge so go hungry. There are side items but didn’t have time to try any. Now, I’m by no means a ramen junkie or snob but I know what good ramen is when I have it. This is the best in Greenville.
