Loved this place. It’s in a crappy spot behind the gas station, but the interior space makes up for that. It’s clean, nice décor and smelled great. The food was insanely good. I ordered the ‘Dolsot Bibimbap’ after reading reviews and it was a great choice. It’s enough to feed two or three people for sure. All of the ingredients were so fresh, the taste was incredible. Before your main dish comes out they treat u to a variety of small appetizers. All of which were fantastic. The service was knowledgable and super friendly. They made our first time experience great and I will definitely be returning. Loved this place.

Thank you, Unilocal, for opening our eyes to another invisible place that has probably been in plain view for centuries. The server was super helpful when it came to tips and tricks for first timers, and the food was great. I ordered this huge flaming hot bowl of beef, starches, and the freshest of fresh produce, topped off with a fried egg. PLUS the surprise of a 5 dish appetizer, which was amazing. Definitely coming back for seconds.

Splendid food. Charming atmosphere, despite being in a gas station strip mall. True tastes of Korea. Great lunch boxes. A wonderful experience.

We read the reviews and stopped on our way through Greenville. Korean BBQ is in a strip center next to a gas station just off I-85 and I-385, but the dining room is spacious and decorated in traditional Korean. The food is as good as Korean we have had in any major city. The Galbi and Bulgogi have been tender with good flavor. The Mandoo was fresh and all meals are served with a full compliment of traditional Korean side dishes. Definitely worth a stop if you are in Greenville.

We had driven by 1000 times. It’s a whole in the wall, I had tried Korean a few times nothing memorable. But this place was great. I had the Bipbimbap that was delicious.

I questioned myself when I actually parked the car based on the location; but don’t let that stop you. Take a leap of faith and walk in. They close at 2:30 and open again at 5; we got there at 2:15, had our food by 2:30 and left around 2:50. The service was great, the food was really good.(Wasn’t expecting that here) Another thing worth mentioning is that we didn’t feel rushed to finish our food and leave. I highly recommend the beef bulgogi and the portion was perfect for lunch.

Let me start off by saying, I would give Korean BBQ4 or 5 stars for the quality of food that we ate, hands down. The only reason I’m giving it 3 starts(3.9 in my head) is that there wasn’t much variety to the menu. When I asked if they had Mul Naeng Myeon(cold noodles), they did not. When I asked if they had Ojinguh bokkeum(spicy squid), they did not. Their side dishes were great, except there were a few to me that were missing and replaced with standard American sides. We dined at dinner time, and we went a little early(6pm) and it wasn’t busy at all, only 1 other table was filled and it was with a group of Korean gentleman. But by 7:30 it was filling up fast, so just a heads up. Overall, this isn’t a bad place at all, and I hope my review doesn’t come off that way. I was just hoping for a little more of an expanded menu to dive into.

Travelling from Toronto, looking for Asian food, and found an oasis in Korean BBQ. They offer a great selection of side dishes, which is important to any Korean meal. The food tastes very authentic, and the service was superb!

Original owners cooked more authentic food when it was tasty bbq, thank god they opened kimchi down the road from here. Food was very watered down, maybe because I’m white and they thought I wanted the wide eye special.

Do Not be put off be outside of this great little restaurant. It seemed a little strange to eat Korean in Greenville but it was definitely worth it. A friendly welcome from the host gave way to a wonderful lunch of Bulgogi and ginger tea. the beef was tender and flavorful the rice was cooked perfectly. The kimchi was nice and spicy and the surrounding dishes all great. A big thank you to the host for letting me move to a bigger table so I could work during my lunch. Much appreciated! If you like Korean this place is for you!

I was surprised to see it tucked away behind a gas station. Simple and clean restaurant. It wasn’t bad. Spicy pork was good and kimchee chigae good. We went at 930pm and they didn’t have much left over. We got 4 sides out of 7 because we were late.

Seriously awesome Korean food. This is one of the places I first visited 8+ years ago that helped me develop my love of K-Food. I was not as experienced in the diverse flavours of Korean food and it helped fuel my growing love of the spices and flavours! I got to know the owner Mr. Lee(back then) and he was always so welcoming and genuine on my visits. Recently I visited after not eating here for four years and was shocked he still remembered me and is still as genuine. The food is also just as amazing but it appears the restaurant is more popular now. So popular that on my night visit he turned away some patrons as the place was full. They always bring you out an assortment of banchan after ordering to start the meal off. It comes as a fresh and healthy assortment of vegetables as usual. My evening dinner visit a I had ordered for main course the seafood pancake(haemol paejun) and also an order of gimbap(Korean sushi). The seafood pancake had a nice variety of squid, shrimp, mussels and crab. It’s been a while since I’ve ordered this and it was amazing! The gimbap was fresh and had a nice light taste of sesame oil with fresh crunchy ingredients. It’s great to come back to restaurants you have not visited in a while. It’s even more awesome when the food is as good as you remember. This is the true sign of an awesome restaurant! I predicted years ago Korean food would grow in popularity and I believe it will still continue to grow! It’s one of my favourites and I look forward to a return visit!

This was easily the best meal I’ve had while in town. There wasn’t a single part of the food I didn’t enjoy. It’s a small intimate setting that is very comfortable. I have the highest of praises for the metal chopsticks.

We had a great experience at Korean BBQ! My family and I fell into this place looking for something new. We were there for lunch. At first, very skeptical and wondering if we should even go inside. Its located in a tiny strip mall right behind a gas station. Literally right behind the gas pumps! But as soon as we walked in, we were met with the smell of wonderful Korean barbecue. Also, there were a good number of Korean people seated in the restaurant… a good sign. The waiter was very attentive and, to our surprise, we were served 6 different complimentary small appetizers just after sitting down. They were fun to try and very tasty. Our food was excellent. Both my wife and my hard-to-please kids who are 11 and 7 yrs old enjoyed the food, as did I. The bbq Korean beef was super flavorful and very tender. The chicken dishes were also excellent. In the end, we all gave Korean BBQ a big«thumbs up» and we are excited to return for the dinner menu. We highly recommend it!

Let’s get a couple things out the way first: Yes, it’s in a gas station strip mall. Yes, it’s fairly small inside. The fact remains that this is the best Korean BBQ you’ll find between Blue Cactus in Columbia and the restaurants in Atlanta’s Asian Square in Atlanta. And I’d still put it up against those guys any day. I’ve been a regular customer of Korean BBQ for 7 years now. The quality has always been and remains high. I’ve even introduced several several people to their first experience eating Korean food. They always go in skeptical and come out converts. The food is fresh, delicious, and presented well. The interior is surprisingly clean and well appointed. And even the restrooms are quite nice and clean. If you’re dining here for the first time, try the Kalbi(thinly sliced grilled beef short ribs on the bone), Bulgogi(grilled marinated beef), or dolsot bibimbap(be careful, it’s served in a hot stone bowl). I also recommend the ginger tea. If it’s not your first time, try everything! Note to families with young ones: our 4 year old son also loves the seafood pancake(yes, and it’s seriously tasty). And I can’t say enough about the owner. He is usually a one person show(sometimes two person if his wife is working there), but he’s always kind and welcoming. Once he gets to know your tastes, he’ll also recommend entrees or drinks that you will like. Korean BBQ is one of the best kept secrets Greenville.

Up front: 1. Does this restaurant rate a repeat visit? Absolutely! 2. Does this restaurant rate a friends and family recommendation? Yes, every day of the week and twice on Saturday. This is by far the best authentic Korean restaurant I have eaten at locally. Now, please understand that I am comparing this to the others I have eaten at in the greater GVL& surrounding area as well as drawing from my personal experiences while being stationed in The Republic of South Korea for two years! Not only is the food outstanding, but it is authentic. They have not fallen into the trap of so many other restaurants that«Americanize» the menu, spice, flavor or ingredients. It is KOREAN& it is dam good to boot. I had the Duk Mandu Guk which is a rice cake and dumpling soup that was perfect on this cold rainy day. One taste and I was transported back to Korea. While my wife had a spicy cabbage and rice cake dish that had a bite but was not overpowering. Both dishes were very fulfilling. This is my favorite Korean Restaurant in the greater Greenville area.

Being a non-Korean Asian, I can’t say how authentic the foods are, but I have to say that this is the ONLY Asian restaurant I LOVE in the upstate area. First, they use steel chopsticks. I hate disposable wood chopsticks not only because they are not sustainable, but all sorts of chemicals and aflatoxin in them. It’s just hard to ignore the smell when eating with them. I’ve literally been to every Asian restaurant in Greenville, and this is the only place uses steel chopsticks. Second, they serve VERY high-quality leafy tea. I know few people here in the states would like hot beverage long with a meal, and maybe even fewer drink tea at all, but as a Chinese person, I like tea and know what’s good tea by just smelling the aroma. I first came to the restaurant on a cold winter day and i was having a very bad stomachache. So I requested hot beverage and surprisingly, Steve, the owner of the restaurant, gave me a list of more than 10 kinds of tea to choose. Not tea bags, not fruity flavors. Real tea. I order jasmine, and even more surprisingly, Steve served it with a very unique tea set. I’ve ordered tea in countless restaurants in the US, and that was the first time I saw something other than tea bags in a cup. Last but not least, foods are great. Not too greasy, not too much soy sauce. Just the right amount of calories and flavors I need for a treat once a while. Well, I really can’t ask for more when they have a whole amazing pot of jasmine pearls for only $ 2.50. All in all, this restaurant is just like a family-owned small restaurant in Korea. Warm and sweet. It will always be my go-to place when I’m in Greenville. Besides, I really like the small & healthy details of Asian traditions that this restaurant is keeping. The side dishes are very good too, btw. Potato salad is my favorite.
