Derek’s Salon

Very upset with my experience at derek’s. Called for an appoinment for mens hair cut and was told its 19 $. After the haircut i was charged 45 dollars for a simple men’s haircut (no shampoo, no styling, no coloring) when asked derek about it he said 19 dollar fee is if a new guy cuts your hair and not the owner. Never felt this cheated before. Average haircut and way overpriced. Also the place looks rundown and old. Will never go back there again or recommend it to anyone.

I called Derek at 2pm Friday to see if he could fit me in for a haircut, and he scheduled me for 6:45 that day… perfect! I was so happy that he get me in. I drove past the salon almost everyday for a year and never noticed it, but I promise I will be back! I was loyal to To Dye For Salon for some time, but I get tired of the staff being so short or rude to me. I was in town for the day and decided it was time for a change.
Derek did such an amazing job on my hair, I was so impressed with his work. I went from shoulder length to an extremely short Halley berry’ish cut. He jumped right in and transformed me! He did my cut in about 30 mins.
I HIGHLY recommend him for the following reasons:
He is an expert and gave me one of the best haircuts I have had in a long time.
He’s very friendly, and not your typical rude salon staff at all.
He stayed open late just for me:) and I never felt like I was keeping him from anything.
I love his accent.

My husband and I were passing through Greenville on a road trip and I desperately needed a haircut. I checked Unilocal and thought I’d take a chance on Derek’s. My trust was rewarded. I got as good a cut as I’ve ever received in Boston, my hometown. I also found the owner informed, articulate and funny. A well spent hour!

Derek was great. I am an out-​of-​towner (from Minnesota), and a «don’t pay more than ten bucks for a haircut» kind of guy. I wanted to try something a bit more adventurous, and figured I should pony up and get it done right. I’m glad I did.
Derek was very friendly, professional, and most importantly — did a great job with the haircut. Conversation was relaxed and not forced, which is one of my greatest annoyances at most hair salons.
Sent me off with some hair gel too (at my request; he was not pushy or salesy whatsoever). Would recommend to anyone.

Derek’s Salon is great! My friend and I came in from out of town and spontaneously decided to get haircuts. Derek was able to fit both of us in immediately.
Not only was Derek’s very accommodating, I also got a fun and stylish haircut! I have short hair and am pretty picky. Derek listened and gave me the exact haircut I was looking for.
The building is modest from the outside, but inside it is very nice and comfortable. Derek and all the staff were very friendly and easy to talk to. Overall, it was a lovely experience. I will have to schedule my trips to Greenville to coincide with my haircut appointments from now on!

I have been coming to Derek for years now. He’s always made me look like a rockstar and he’s easy to work with on scheduling/​appointments. He’s also got a great personality and is easy to get along with.

Since seeing Laura Haan at Derek’s salon, I’ve received so many compliments and I love my hair! Recently, a friend in Nashville considered driving 5.5 hours to Greenville for an appointment because she loved my cut that much. If I ever move away, I WILL make the drive. Laura is the best.

Laura Haan is THE BEST! She was recommended to me by a patient of mine when I first moved to Greenville and I am so happy that I took the recommendation. Laura is a wonderful colorist. Although I color my hair, it looks very natural! She uses the best products and has many lines for sale. My hair has never felt so healthy! Her new booth at Derek’s is great — very private and very quiet :) If you are in the market for a colorist, TRUST ME — Laura is your girl!

Love my cut and color! Laura Hahn is the best stylist ever, and I’m so glad she is close to home. She always does a fabulous job, and her prices are very reasonable!
