great friendly service, open later than most donut shops, and delicious, inexpensive, unique donuts! my favorite is the toasted coconut.

Moe’s fresh donuts are the best I’ve ever had. His flavors are adventurous and delicious. His pistachio crumb donut is my favorite. I’ve tried both local shops and he isn’t beat by far. Make sure to try the sour cream donut and anything that has red velvet. Moe and his family are incredibly nice and run a great shop.

The service was excellent and the location is excellent. There’s such a wide variety of donuts and before you even take a bite of these amazingly delicious donuts, the rest if your senses are entrenched in nirvana by the mere sight smell and texture of these donuts. Highly recommended I would give this place a 6 star rating if that was possible

This is the best Doughnut shop in any of the surrounding neighborhoods. I know the backstory regarding Peter Pan’s and let me tell you this place is SOOO much better. The inside of the doughnuts are fluffier, the outside of the cake doughnuts are crunchier, everything is more flavorful, THISPLACEROCKS. Great service. Try the Maple cake!

Not a huge crowd, good customer service, and good donuts. What else can I ask for. Oh the donuts here are only 1.10. That is 1.10 for all their donuts I believe. I tried their toasted coconut donut with chocolate on it and it was great. They didn’t even charge you extra for that unlike some places. They also offer more dinner food items but I wasn’t there to try that. I been trying to go back but it is a bit out of my way.

I’ve been to Moe’s and Peter Pan now and it is very hard to pick a favorite. Moe’s has more unique donut options(pistachio, maple bacon, red velvet, key lime pie, etc.) and they take credit cards. Also, I feel like they have a larger menu, offering things like wings, burgers, and other food. The style of the place is nice but a bit bland, while Peter Pan’s is very retro. Overall if you like cake style donuts I would say Moe’s is definitely worth a visit.

Great little neighborhood donut shop. The donuts were fantastic and as good as other more well known shops. I had the sugar raised, a test of the basics, and it was extremely tasty. Coffee is the same regular coffee that all these places serve. They have grilled cheeses and bagel sandwiches that look really good. Next time!

I know of the rivalry between these guys and Peter Pan Doughnuts, and that’s why today I made it a point to try both and see how I felt about the whole situation. Indubitably, Moe’s has a more unique and balanced combination of flavors in their doughnuts. I had a cinammon roll, and my friend got a cheesecake doughnut. Both were an explosion of flavor in my mouth, with delicate, almost inconspicuous hint of citrus in the cinammon roll; and the airy, yet rich fullness from the cheesecake doughnut. The best doughnuts I’ve had here so far.

Walked in around 3pm on a Saturday and was surprised to find plenty of donuts still on the shelves. I decided on two donuts to take home: The Maple Bacon is exactly what it sounds like… maple frosting and crispy chopped bacon. Be warned — the donut is really rich and was heavier than the others I’ve tried. I recommend cutting it in half or thirds and splitting it up over a couple days. The Raspberry Sugar is filled with jelly and covered in granulated sugar(not powdered, although I’m pretty sure that’s an option too). Unfortunately I didn’t love that filling… the texture was just off. A smooth jam would have been better than jelly. I probably won’t order one of these again. Next time I’ll try their cake donuts.

Went back again this past weekend and I will admit I am joining the Moe’s Dough Donut cult now!!! Had different donuts this time(see pix) and yet one to fail. They are just simply amazing. They are all culinary orgasmic explosions in your mouth. Met more family members that were present on Saturday,(after all, it is a family owned business) and everyone is just so lovely and sweet! I can’t wait to go back. Will try their non donut food next time. A guy beside was having a burger and fries which looked so delicious and after checking the menu, I couldn’t believe my eyes! Burger and fries for only $ 5.00?!! Woooot! Bless Moe’s for decades and centuries to come! Officially counting down the days until I can make it back to Moe’s!

This place rocks! The whole Peter Pan vs Moe’s argument is one of the most fascinating food rivalries in Brooklyn of late — you can Google it for more info, but in short Moe used to be the baker at Peter Pan and left to start his own doughnut shop. I’ve been back and forth multiple times but I think I have to give the slight edge to Moe… but really it often just depends on the day because they are so similar. I find myself going to Moe’s more because Moe’s son who often works the counter is just so nice and friendly. The doughnuts are top notch — my favorites are the apple crumb and the red velvet. The samosa doughnut is awesome too… actually, everything is good! You really can’t go wrong, and the prices are very reasonable($ 1.10 for a standard doughnut). It’s a good thing that I live on the other side of Brooklyn, else I think I’d be here every day and probably be 50lb heavier!

The donuts here are amazing! My family always buy donuts here but I never came for breakfast until today. I had the bacon, egg& cheese on s croissant. It’s really good. The bagels are freshly made & also very delicious as well. Best part of course is the donuts! They have is many varieties but my favorite is the red velvet or dosonut which is their take of a cronut filled with crème. Good service, good prices, Plus they don’t cook with pork so it’s a great option for anyone with a halal/kosher option. Worth traveling across town for these donuts.

Popped in here on a weekday early evening(which preceded a long weekend), and I was struck by a mixture of disappointment and unpleasant surprise to find that the shelves were pretty much emptied out. There were maybe like… 5 donuts left, no joke. There were still some cupcakes and eclairs but I came for the donuts gdi! I shouldn’t have been surprised giving the timing but still. If only I had the foresight. /sighs heavily As I stared at the largely empty shelves, for a very brief moment it felt like apocalyse for foodies(«How could they be out of EVERYTHINGALREADY!!!»). It was a bit disorienting. Anyway, I eventually talked myself into gratitude for snatching the last blueberry donut which was mmMMMmmm-so-good. Friend joined me later and got the last apple crumb donut, which was surprisingly not as sweet as I typically thought of apple-filled pastries. I liked how the donuts were not overly sweet and had just the right amount of crunch. I’m usually meh about donuts but I’d never been so satisfied. Will definitely come back if/when I’m in the area again.

Moe is my hero. I want to do everything the way Moe’s Doughs it. Unfortunately, his fave position is the«piledriver», and I haven’t mastered it yet. I’ve tried, and tried again, but it always ends badly(as in, giving up and returning to mish or doggy). So that’s one thing that Moe Doughs that I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to do. What to get: Chocolate Donut, Sour Cream Donut What else: How much Dough Does a Moe Doughs Do if a Moe Doughs Does Do Dough? I’ve tried to be a joker, a winner, a sinner and all that — but I’m not as good as Mr. Cocker. I’ve made the effort, but I can’t do it the way«Joe Doughs.» Some of the best donuts I’ve ever had in my life — anywhere. This place may not get the same attention as Dough, Doughnut Plant and the wonderful and surprisingly Vegan Dun-Well, but it’s on the same level as those three. These four places are the ultimate donut shops. They are the best donuts in the entire world. The fact that they are all in NYC, in fact all in Brooklyn(although Doughnut Plant’s original locations are in Womanhattan, and Dough now has locations in Womanhattan too), just shows you how damn spoiled NYC-ers and Brooklynites are when it comes to donuts(and many other things, too). And I’ve tried sleeping with friends(inspired by the song Sleeping With A Friend which is a bad song in my opinion), but a friend just can’t get me there the way a bunch of «Foes Doughs.» What’s more, they’re a little cheaper than the donuts at the other«big three», and that may change once they become more popular as they inevitably should. But for now, these are the only donuts of the 4 big beautiful best-ever donut shops in Brooklyn that won’t leave you Brokelyn in Brooklyn. I like good girls and pristine girls and virginal girls just fine, but nothing gets me going like a bunch of «Hoes Doughs.» I apologize for that crude reference. I never refer to women in such terms. It was simply for the sake of the pun. I like big puns and I cannot lie. I’m not funny but damn I try. When a place has food with taste none goes to waste I write reviews and get *stung* by all my critics. My Unilocal followers don’t read none unless they’re full of puns, hun. I can review highways or cities. But please don’t lose those puns. Also, you should know that the baker here is the guy that used to work at Peter Pan. I’ve never been a Peter Pan fan(not the kids’ story nor the donut shop), but now that he’s here and he’s making yeast-style Dough/Doughnut Plant/Dun-Well-esque masterpieces, it’s absolute heaven. I wish I could write as well as Edgar Allen«Poe Doughs.» The ones you need to get, from what I’ve tried so far, are the ridiculously huge, messy, amazing Chocolate Donut, and the absolutely delightful, delectable, greasy, tasty, crunch and perfect Sour Cream Donut. Get both, get whatever else you fancy, and thank me later for sending you to this — one of NYC’s best and most underrated donut shops. And by the way, I tried choosing which donut to get using«Insy Winsy Wansy Wonton», but it didn’t work nearly as well as Eeny Meany Miny«Moe Doughs.»

Read reviews here that Moe was the head baker at Peter Pan, so of course we had to stop by and get donuts from here as well. I love their pain twisted, sugary donuts! However, if comparing the Red Velvet Donut, I prefer Peter Pan! I compared both and I definitely felt that Peter Pan’s red velvet was just more moist and perfect. I’d still recommend checking out Moe’s if your in the neighborhood!

Moe’s is supposedly one of the best donut shops in Greenpoint. or all of Brooklyn. Some of my other friends say Peter Pan, only a few blocks away is the best. I’ve yet to go to Peter Pan, so I can’t say. But my most recent visit to Moe’s confirms that they do make pretty damn good donuts. The day my friend and I went, it was St. Patrick’s Day, so most of their donuts were green or had green frosting. I had a Bavarian Cream donut with green powdered sugar on top and one of Moe’s signature glazed red velvet. The Bavarian Cream was delicious, plenty of filling inside. I really liked the red velvet. It had a nice sugary glaze coating, and the donut wasn’t dry. Very tasty! I really want to go try Peter Pan soon! :D

Solid old school donut shop/diner with the nicest employees and friendly regulars. Very casual neighborhood atmosphere. Tried the following: Apple crumb I don’t even like fruit filled donuts but was convinced to try it via other great reviews. It almost converted me to try more fruit filled donuts. The apples are perfectly diced and still have a slight crisp to ‘em so it’s not all mush inside. The crumble on top made the donut more reminiscent of a pie, which is more my language. Bavarian cream filled donut The Bavarian cream is light and not overtly sweet. It was so good and filled to the nines. I honestly just ate the cream inside, because I was getting full. Red Velvet Volcano I don’t like cake donuts, because I rather just eat. a cake. However, it was pretty damn good. Moist, savory yet sweet and paired perfectly with their coffee(which is great). Mmmmm. The cream filling was a little too sweet for me– reminescent of frosting. If you’re a frosting lover though, it’s a win. Would definitely come back if I happen to be in the area, but wouldn’t go out of my way to come to Greenpoint. It’s $ 1.10 per doughnut. I mean… who isn’t a fan of that?
