Marcari Salon

While on the hunt for a hair salon and stylist that can keep up with my ever changing hair color requests and current in home boxed color disaster, I stumbled upon Gabriella at Marcari salon. With an array of color options and such knowledge and talent she managed to take my look above and beyond my expectations. The salon has a wonderful staff and is also conveniently located near the LIRR plus all major highways!!! Gabriella not only made me feel at home, she managed to make herself available around my crazy work schedule and worked her magic fingers on my very stubborn mop. Couldn’t have asked for a better «hairxperience». There isn’t anything she can’t do, extensions, color, highlight, cuts, blowouts, you name it. Would recommend her hands down, just as long as she’s not overbooked for me.

Full disclosure: I didn’t actually have my hair done here. I was looking for a place that was open on Sunday mornings because I had an early Sunday wedding to attend and needed a blow out. I noticed a sign that said someone was there on Sunday mornings. They called her at home and I spoke to her. She said that while she did work Sunday mornings, she would only come in if I had 4 friends I could bring in at the time because just doing one person’s hair wasn’t «worth» her time. There are enough salons in great neck willing to accommodate paying customers that finding someone else on short notice wasn’t really a problem. I highly recommend Blow Me Away for blow outs. A stylist came in early to accommodate me on a Sunday morning. It only cost $ 25 and I tipped her 65% because I was very appreciative. I recommend patronizing businesses who value you as a customer. I happen to live in that neighborhood and know that rents are high enough that businesses can’t really afford to be turning paying customers away.
