Tico’s Mex Mex Grill

Since moving here from NYC, I’ve been disappointed with 95% of everything upstate NY has to offer. Tico’s was a saving grace for my gf and I. The owner was very friendly and the food was just as good if not better than what we are used to. We will most definitely be back and according to my gf, we need to move closer to where they are located.

I have been to Tico’s 2x, first time we ordered was Asada tacos and it was good but a little pricey. 2^nd try I tried mole enchiladas but the chicken was extremely blend and the mole wasn’t spicy, totally regretted ordering the mole. Beans seemed ehhh so was the rice.

Delicious authentic Mexican comfort food. Love their burritos and crispy chicken tacos! I’ll definitely be a regular. Staff is very friendly and service is great!

They are all hard workers and loyal to Ticos that ate here before they started working with us. Order from here today. Disappointed! My meal that is 20.99 is really worth 12 for the portion they gave me. As well as all the other things I ordered. Still waiting on a call back on why my total was an extra $ 10 dollars!

No food isn’t terrible. Except for the 6 dollar for 6 taquitos. It was actually 3 cut in half to make 6. Rip off…

I love it i am puertorrican but love me some mexican food my husband and i fell in love with the place service was really good the guy was so nice and he knew what to recommend.

I have been here three times and I have yet to taste something that I like. It’s unfortunate because I obviously want to be a regular! The people are so nice and yay for Mexican candy! I’m originally from Texas so… I’m homesick and don’t always want to cook Mexican food for myself. I’ll keep trying but, so far… Not so good. :(

I honestly can not believe someone gave this place 5 stars! They have to work there because this place is terrible. Store bought GUACOMOLE, ordered sour cream enchiladas and literally there was ½ a pint of sour cream just thrown on top! The salsa I kid you not tasted like they opened up a can of tomato sauce and put it in a bowl. Come on people! Ugh just ugh!

Delicious and authentic tasting with fresh ingredients. Not greasy like much of the other Mexican food I’ve tried. I can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu. This place was such a pleasant surprise!

Not impressed at all. Wish there were more options for Mexican food in the area. Salsa tasted like tomato sauce from a can with some veggies mixed in. The steak fajitas tasted like I was eating a whole lime it was completely drenched in lime juice. We also ordered a quesadilla that was just blah nothing special.

If your from the west cost you will quickly realize this is not true Mexican food. It’s a clean environment but overpriced and not amazing.

The food was pretty good. They only have one waitress so the wait was a little long, but the service was ok. I asked for a refill but the waitress was also the cashier so I was forgotten. The steak tacos Mexicanos were the best out of the Carnitas and Barbacoa. It is a really small place so probably take out would be a better bet.

What a GREAT spot with great service! I could write a book about how great it is but you just need to stop in and see for your self. buena comida…

Food is decent… if your from Southern Texas don’t expect the same satisfaction we would get from home… it just doesn’t have that taste I expect from real tex mex food… like all the food is missing something in its seasoning… it’s pricey and we all know how much tex mex cost back home… it was good to try it a couple times but I realized that the taste never got better so I’m over it… I’ll wait till block leave to get that good Olé Mexican food from home…

This place was amazing! Real authentic Mexican food! So many types of dishes. They even have Mexican drinks and candy! It was delicious cooked perfectly. I am not Mexican but I am Hispanic and I know Hispanic food. And this reminded me of home. Almost wanted to cry, please check this place out. You will not be disappointed. If you know Hispanic food, you will know this is real authentic food. Don’t expect it to be Taco Bell or chipotle! That is not authentic Mexican food. Tico’s Mex Mex Grill is the real deal. WHY did it take me over a year to discover this place?! It’s so good! The food is authentic and the owner is so friendly. The menu is huge. It took me forever to decide what I wanted because it all sounded amazing. My parents are from Mexico so reading the menu brought back memories and just made me crave it all! Plus they sells Jarritos (Mexican soda) and I can’t resist those.

Really good and fresh food. Right outside the Airfield so that was a bonus. Only down part is how long it takes for the food to come out. But I guess that’s the price for good fresh food.

My wife is Hispanic and we are both from Texas. Just PCSed here a few months and was looking for some Mexican food other than Taco Bell. Found this little gem and really enjoyed the food. I think it’s a bit pricey and a tad bit small but I think the food was pretty good. I’ve gone back a few times and will continue to go as long as we’re at Drum. I would recommend this place to anyone.
