They have some creative things on the restaurant menu, like various«mac» dishes, variations on mac ‘n cheese. I had the one with lobster and wine sauce, it was really good. My mom was very pleased with her salmon. We split a crème brûlée. It was to die for.

Very well done. Great steak sandwich and burger! Could not be happier with it. Plus a very good bourbon selection to boot!

We ate in the pub twice in the last three years. I think both times were on a Sunday night so it was fairly quiet. This last time we had burgers beer and french fries which were all excellent. Service was a bit slow but then it wasA Sunday night so that was to be expected. After our meal the desk clerk let us take a walk around upstairs. We weren’t staying there but it was fun looking at the rooms all named after famous people like Mark Twain and some presidents who have stayed there. We also learned that the hotel is supposed to have a ghost and… We actually ran into a very strange older woman who kind of flitted past us and disappear down the hall. Now I’m not saying she was a real ghost, but it was enough to curtail any further exploration!

Skip the restaurant and order from the bar menu, it’s delicious! Their burgers are great and the people who work there are very nice and accommodating, even on very busy nights.

One of the best burgers I’ve ever had! The fries were delicious and the homade chips were amazing! Bonus: the waiter performed a magic trick for my children.

I absolutely love the Holbrooke, and I hear the the hotel section of the business is okay. However, I will not be returning to the restaurant. We had reservations for Christmas Eve, and were excited to try the restaurant after many years of not going there. It is now under new management, but there was no sign of any managerial presence on our reservation night. We were seated at least 40 minutes after our reservation, and the hostess seemed to be juggling about 100 things at once, which compromised her efficiency and attention to simple details, such as reservation times. Also, on a side note, my dad had a hair in his drink from the bar, and when he pulled it out, it was stuck in the middle of an ice cube. Gross! We told the hostess, who apologized, set the ice cube on a serving tray, and walked away. She did not offer any compensation for the drink, and she did not convey the issue to the bar staff. When we were seated, we were not given menus, water, or bread for another 20 minutes. It looked like our waitress was 1 of 2 for the entire restaurant. They were running around trying to manage everything, but there was only so much they could do. Our table finally made our orders, which included the french onion soup. About 30MINUTES later, the waitress apologetically informs us that they are out of the soup. Ummm… maybe the kitchen could have sent out this announcement to the staff, so we wouldn’t have been sitting there for so long waiting? Our salads came soon after, and they were good and fresh. Our main courses came another 30MINUTES after our salads, and no one offered to refill our drinks or give us more bread. The food we received was very, very good, but our overall experience was not worth it. We were probably at the restaurant for almost 3 hours, so we got home after 10:00pm. We were not planning on having such a long dinner, just a good bite to eat and then go home to relax. The server did apologize for our long waits, and gave us 10% off of our bill. In my opinion, the staff were working really hard, but they didn’t have the supervisory support they needed to organize the increase in business on a holiday. They were short-staffed, there was no communication between the bar, hostess, servers, and kitchen. Also, there was no one apparent who was overseeing the«big picture.» Very unfortunate because this place has so much potential in the right hands.
