Marquis at Silver Oaks

We moved to TX in January and moved into the Marquis @ Silver Oaks while we looked for a house to purchase. The walking trail, dog park, and customer service have convinced us to extend our lease. After 27 years of home ownership we are enjoying the freedom allowed us being apartment dwellers, who knew.

This is a great apartment complex! The management team’s very helpful and friendly, maintenance service is fast and it’s very dog friendly. The location is perfect if you’re travelling a lot — close to two lakes, shopping, restaurants and with a beautiful trail right outside the door. I definitely recommend it!

I am a resident here and have lived here almost a year. In regards to the other review, I know that the place has recently had a management change and is now run by a different company. I am not sure when that change happened so it very well could be the same one they experienced, but I highly doubt it. I have been told horror stories about the old management co.
Now to my review, this place is awesome. I moved in the weekend before my birthday in June. We decided to have a few friends over and spend the day having some drinks at the pool. Next thing you now there is around 15 or 20 people all hanging out together, passing the shots around, and coming over to our new apartment to grill out. The community and the people that live here are great. Everyone is very friendly and all hangs out together. Everyone is welcome and we all love living here!
We have a second floor 1 bedroom corner unit with a garage. I love my apartment. The layout is perfect and the patio is huge. We use it everyday and the dog and cat just love laying out there. The bathroom is large with two sinks and counters which is great for people that have to get ready at the same time! The only downfall is for two people the master closet is really small! Also — there is a built in desk that I wish wasn’t there. We would have used that space really differently.
The complex is secure. Some issues that I have been told about but never experienced myself. The management co. has been great and really worked hard to get us in here. Our agent was Brooke and she was awesome. A young lady also drove her car into the side of our garage (no joke… check
) and the management and maintenance guys worked hard to get it all fixed quickly without inconveniencing us at all. The maintenance guys are always fast when it comes to any request as well.
It’s the little things that count. They are now bringing in food trucks occasionally that the residents can go grab dinner from. It’s a great idea and I love going to them. There is a free car wash and many other things I really enjoy.
Some pros — the walking trail, two pools, and very very pet friendly
Some cons — the dog park sucks and needs to be leveled and sodded, a lot of the neighbors don’t pick up their dog poopies, the grassy areas tend to flood and get muddy
