Absolutely love the food here! Of course Pita bread and garlic sauce is my favorite. But the Salads are to die for as well, it’s nice to have somewhere close to get authentic Lebanese!

The fresh bread with garlic dip is enough reason to visit. Thankfully, the rest of the music is awesome too. Prices are reasonable, service is good enough. I will be sure to visit this place every time I’m in GR!

Food was excellent, service was horrible. We had to ask twice for bread, get our own beverage refill and chase down the server to pay our bill. We will return because the food rocks, but will only sit in the male servers section from now on.

We stopped in with a friend for lunch after Frederick Meijer Gardens. Service was friendly. Tried the hummus, falafel sandwich, lentil soup, and smoothie. Food was tasty, but slightly pricier than I’m used to. The fresh bread and garlic sauce was super though. I would certainly come back to try some more menu items next time we are in town.

I came here again recently for a meet-up event with some internet friends. I ate light because I wanted to have some baklava and Turkish coffee after my meal(I’d been deeply craving the two together). I had a large fattoush salad with sides of babaganooj and taboulleh. The fattoush was quite delicious, but it’s basically just a Mediterranean cucumber salad with fried pita chunks in it(pretty simple dish/hard to mess up). The baba, taboulleh, and of course, the toum & homemade pita were fantastic. However, the baklava was decent but not great, and the Turkish coffee was pretty lame(no spices and not very thick or strong). I’m now absolutely certain that Sheshco deserves a 3 out of 5.

Lebanese style middle eastern restaurant in Grand rapids. The home made bread was amazing as was the home made garlic sauce. I got the eggplant in tomato sauce as an appetizer, it was good but the eggplant was a little undercooked and hard. I also got a shish kabob sandwich on the spinach wrap which was pretty good. My brother got a kefta sandwich and a shish tawook sandwich, also both on spinach. The kefta was a little over spiced(but kefta usually is) the tawook was good though. After we got the food the waitress told us to get the pita bread instead of the spinach wrap next time as it was better. The baklava was pretty good as well. The waitress verified that the meat was halal. I look forward to coming back and trying it again

This place is amazing. They make the pita bread fresh in an open brick oven(you can watch it pop up as it bakes). The lamb is out of this world, and they know what medium to medium rare means. The fattoush salad is delicious. The quantities are all huge, so you’ll probably have a second meal to take away. If we’re hitting a movie afterward, we sometimes split an order and leave full, without the«what-do-I-do-with-the-leftovers-that-will-sit-for-2-hours» dilemma. I always have too much warm pita bread and garlic sauce when I go here — it’s so good, it’s worth the garlic breath that follows. There’s live music, and the guy is very talented, though I wish he would play indigenous music rather than radio favorites. The restaurant is always packed, and there’s a reason for that.

Been here a couple times now and always love the food. The shiska Kafka is awesome. The fresh baked bread and garlic spread is amazing. Their hummus is very good as well. Can’t say enough good things about this place. About the only negative is sometimes their service is a bit slow but nothing that’s horrible. They are very nice and attentive.

Food was good, service was horrible. I don’t know if it was an off day, but we were the only people in the restaurant and they had staff running around the kitchen and cleaning, but our waitress was MIA the entire time. I saw her leave right after our order was taken get into a car and talk to someone for about 15 minutes then came back in to the kitchen. Food took much longer than expected being that we were the only ones there. Our water glasses were empty for awhile before I had to get up and ask someone for a refill. Had the platter and everything tasted great, just sucks that they had such a service problem.

Well, I can’t spell anything, but it’s yummy! Their table bread and garlic spread, so good. Definitely with real garlic! The food came hot and fresh! And fast. Nice atmosphere, too. If I lived in the area, I would certainly frequent Sheshco.

This is a decent Mideast restaurant. The food is decent. Only negative comment is that the service is often very slow.

Great place for Mediterranean food but expensive compared to other restaurants. Their bread and the garlic spread is quite delicious My husband and i did enjoy their valentine’s day special a few months back. It was multiple courses that overstuffed us lol

Sheshco is hands down my wife and I’s go to restaurant for a quick, filling, cheap and tasty meal in GR. If my life was an episode of Seinfeld this would be our Monk’s Café. We come here at least 3 – 4 times a month, and it is always good. I only give it a 4⁄5 because somehow its not as good when you order out. The fresh unlimited oven baked pita and garlic sauce really elevates it to a 5 when you dine in. My favorites are the falafel wrap, the lamb schwarma, and the tabouli salad. The hommous is good too, and provides something to dip your sandwich in :) If you stick to sandwiches and salad you can walk out spending $ 15 or so for a couple. The entrees are crazy good but of course are

This was my family and my first experience at sheshco. I would agree with the other reviewers that the pita bread with garlic paste is very delicious. The hummus with meat was also yummy. O ordered the cobra Juice which is a blend of apple, beet root, carrot and radish(I asked them not to add radish). I personally did not like the juice, the first one the waitress brought me had a strong taste of celery but I held my breath and finished it and boy was I proud when I saw that glass empty… A minute later to my horror the waitress brought me another glass of it because she accidentally added celery to the first one! So once again I had to finish the juice… My kids got the apple juice which was nice(they didn’t like it but if I had them choose between the cobra or the apple juice I know the apple juice would be the best). For the main dish I ordered the chicken shawarma(I asked them to add some hummus in it) and my husband ordered the lamb shawarma. The lamb shawarma was much better, the chicken dharma had an odd after taste. For the kids we got 2 cheeseburgers with fries but they were so stuffed after the hummus with meat that when they’re burgers came they looked at us like we were playing a horrible joke on them lol! Overall food was good and the service was good except our waitress made a couple of mistakes like forgetting one of the appetizers I ordered(lamb chilli) and adding celery to the juice but other then that she was really sweet and was making sure we had everything. So I guess I would go there again especially for the fresh pita bread, garlic paste and hummus with meat.

So far this was the most decent Mediterranean restaurant in Grand Rapids. I would definitely go again! Prices were a little high compared to other restaurants. I wish the waitress would’ve told us the maza plate could feed 4 people. We ended up over ordering and taking home 4 boxes. Service was kind of slow but the place was not packed… but… Garlic pasted was amazing so I’ll be back for more.

I had to do an update since I’ve eaten here about 30 times since my initial review. I would say the service, in general, has improved overall and the food quality has remained very good. The garlic spread is definitely the best in town and the fresh-baked bread that goes with it is excellent. Our kids ask to go to Sheshco regularly for this reason alone and we like to take them as it is a healthy alternative to most other places. I’ve now tried most things on the menu and my favorite apps/sides include: –Garlic spread, fattoush and tabbouli salads, lentil soup, hommous(and I usually get this with meat — either is great), the meat pie and the foule. Most of the entrees are great, and the David Basha(sauteed, ground meat with onions, tomatoes and mushrooms) has become one of my favorites — extremely tasty! The Shish Tawook w/Lemon Oregano is another favorite. The juices really are fresh and even my 6 year old loves getting the fresh apple, carrot and beet juice combo. Since we don’t drink soda, this is a real treat for them and, again, it’s healthy. This is a great place to go when you’re in the mood for really great Mediterranean food. The service has improved from before, and I applaud that, but it is not consistently great(on some busy nights, if you’re seated near the register, you can hear the staff grousing about this and that and they are sometimes clearly in no hurry to serve you.) From a dining standpoint, this is their only weak point but it has definitely improved from previous years. Overall, a great place for Mediterranean food and fairly priced.

Tasty food, inconvenient parking. The menu looks almost exactly the same as another Med food place in town on 28th St. We tried a hummus app with lamb and then did the lamb shawarma sandwich combo with salad. What will keep me from coming back is that get wouldn’t allow me to up charge to to my raw veggie drink, Cobra. The other place did it no problem. Kicker is, they didn’t even offer me my included soft drink once I ordered the Cobra. Food was good, would have rated higher except for the drink situation.

We have been here a handful of time and are never disappointed! The pita bread with garlic spread is sensational. We have ordered a wide variety of items, the lentil soup, chicken kebabs, lamb Schwartz, a little of everything. We will be back.

Okay, so my experience at sheshco was pretty bad, the only reason I’m giving it a three instead of a two is because there is a lot of potential. We went on a Sunday and just an hour before closing so it seemed like no effort was put into making our food. I do absolutely love it when I am given garlic dip, that stuff is the shit! The pita bread was good too. The hummus and the tabouli were super average. The baba ganoush was on the smokey side but not overly smokey. The falafel has pickles in it if you order a regular falafel which is something I hate, so pay the two extra dollars for the falafel with tabouli if you want a more authentic experience. The falafel is green though so that’s a bonus. The pita the falafel was in was not awesome, sorta crunchy. The big problem was the eggplant with tomato sauce and feta appetizer. It was so chewy I couldn’t take it. I basically cut off the top and tossed the rest. The tomato sauce was good though, it was pleasantly spicy. So overall I wonder if it was a problem with the time of day we went. I hope so because I am often in that area and it would be nice to have a rad place to eat.

I didn’t realize I hadn’t updated my review in a while. I’ve become a fan of Sheshco now. I usually go for lunch and their lunch special is pretty good. A nice sandwich, soup and break for like $ 7 or so. Not bad for what you get. The chicken shawarma is my favorite sandwich along with the lamb chili. Good to warm you bones in the cold. I still love their garlic butter with bread. If I didn’t look like a weird pig, I just might eat just the bread and garlic spread.
