they did body and paint work on my 914, the rear trunk came back with the paint checking all over, after a few weeks. I watched as my paint cracked. Had them come back and re-do it, they told me the problem was the old paint under their paint was the problem(A good painter would have stripped the old paint off if it was questionable) . So it comes back all re-painted again,(on my dime, I had to buy the paint for the re-paint twice). They told me it would be all right the second time, as they told me they took all the old paint off to bare metal. A few weeks latter, the same thing happened, cracks and check marks appeared in the new paint. Total waste, they gave me a bullshit excuse the first time, then it happened again, and I had to foot the bill for the paint twice. Finally after they towed my car back home, I get a notice from the local toll bridge authority. Seems the toll was not paid going across the bridge, but they have a photo of the plate number of the car that didn’t pay. Sure enough it is my car, they got a photo of the rear plate as it was towed without paying, over the toll bridge. lies and a crappy paint job.

I have been taking my 914 to Mark for years. Always a straight forward price and goes above and beyond what is required. He makes sure things are done the right way, the first time. It was very refreshing to drop my car off at his shop before I left the country on vacation and come home to perfectly working brakes and e-brake, not to mention he did some routine maintenance items he saw it needed. I am a DIY kind of guy but if anything is out of my skill set, Original Customs is the only place I trust with my 914.

Mark is a great guy. When I needed seals for my Porsche 911 transmission he even mailed me the tools to do the job. Tell me that’s not going way beyond the call of duty. No reservations recommending this guy.

After dealing with mechanics who charged a fortune just to get my car to barely pass its smog tests every two years, I found Original Customs in Sonoma last year. The owner, Mark, was extremely patient with my millions of questions, and he took the time to do the job right — not just patch up my car for the next two years. He dove in and really tried to FIX the problems instead of cover them up or adjust the ignition timing to mask the problems. As a result, my car passed with flying colors and for much less than I was used to paying. Mark is more than a mechanic; he’s an absolute genius with cars, from bodywork to engines to interiors. He’s an inventor — whether it’s something practical like adapting fuel injection to a classic and bringing it into the modern era, or something crazy like turning a Porsche 914 into a limo — and he always has creative solutions to problems. Best of all, Mark is easy to talk to, and he takes the time to explain the customization options to you in plain English, so you know exactly what you’re getting into. In fact, I was so satisfied with the service at Original Customs that I’ve elected to have Mark rebuild my engine this year. And I know it’s going to be fantastic!

To please an auto enthusiast is one of the hardest tasks for a mechanic. Mark went above and beyond what I had ever expected when taking care of my 2002.

Mark stands behind his work 110% and has gone out of his way to ensure my satisfaction. Original Customs is the only shop in the Bay Area I would trust to work on my Porsche 914. Top notch service.

Mark does fantastic metal work, design, and provides exceptional service. He worked on several areas of my SEMA bound Porsche 914 and completed within a tight schedule. I highly recommend his work.
