It was a nice smelling place. The staff were nice and helpful. The breakfast was good. Our beds we slept in were a lot more comfortable than our own. 4 stars

This place has horrible staff. We were booked here for a wedding. They had wedding guests for 3 different weddings staying here. We were told our room would be guaranteed ready at 3PM so that we could make it for the wedding at 430PM. They had no rooms ready. The girl at the front told us that she would let us know when our room was ready. People were standing around the lobby with their wedding clothes. People were putting makeup on in the little breakfast nook /bar area. The pool bathroom and lobby bathrooms were full with people changing. My husband and friend were putting on their clothes in the lobby. The girl just kept turning people away from rooms, saying they weren’t ready, and watching people dress and pack the lobby. After an hour, I asked her if the room was ready. She said — with a big fat smile on her face — that it had been ready«for some time» and that she had forgotten to tell me because she had gotten«caught up checking people in». I was floored. I told her that my husband and friend had been standing in front of her changing clothes for the last hour, and she was smiling at me and telling me that she had forgotten. I demanded that she cancel the reservation. We ended up driving back to Detroit that night after the wedding. Don’t stay here.

Stayed there last night. Great room and super clean. The bed was nicer than mine at home. Worth the price. Wish I was staying there tonight instead of the place I’m staying.

My family of four stayed for two nights in this hotel while we were visiting the area. We used Hotwire and got a good deal. Overall, the hotel itself and rooms were cleaned. The beds were decent. The pool wasn’t crowded but the water seemed cloudy for some reason. It wasn’t «dirty» though. Our problems didn’t occur until the second day. We left to go to Grand Haven beach around 11am and took the Do Not Disturb sign down so that our room could be cleaned. When we returned around 5pm our room keys did not work. When I went to the front desk I got no explanation from the guy there(who seemed like he could care less about it)… Just two new keys. When we finally got back into our room we found that it had not been cleaned at all. I called the front desk and was told that we must’ve had the DND sign up during the times when they clean so it didn’t get done and wouldn’t be done. What?!? He asked what time we took the sign down and seemed to want to blame us for the room not getting cleaned. I told him basically I thought that was not right and then I sent my teenager down for more towels, etc so we could shower. The rest of our stay was without incident. The breakfast is ok, nothing outstanding. The lady at checkout was very nice and listened to my complaint abut lack of service with empathy. She informed me that we should’ve gotten something under the door if we didn’t get the room cleaned. I doubt we’d stay again, given we’ve stayed in other hotels in the Holland area that were superb.

I stayed here for a few nights while looking for a permanent residence in Grand Rapids. Apparently I chose the wrong weekend to stay here. The entire night it sounded like elephants were jumping on the ceiling. When I walked out into the hallway, there were 25 people cussing and screaming in the hallway at midnight. I went downstairs to ask the front desk to get control of the situation and they told me quote, «there is a big group staying here sir. I will be happy to give your name to my manager later though.» Meanwhile, I have 6 hours of flight time the next day after a long trip. They basically told me not to bet on getting any sleep while the«big group» was there. I went upstairs to ask them to keep it down and found 15 – 20 middle school kids in the room above mine with no adult supervision. Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Unbelievable

We had a wonderful stay here. Rooms and hallways were clean. Beds comfortable. Delicious and free cookies at front desk. We also got to meet Amber the general manager who was very engaging.

I just elevated from 1 star to 3 and I’m going say why. First is my honest, initial review… A Black & Decker refrigerator at Wal-Mart if you buy one(1) is $ 58. I just checked. Whereas a Hampton Inn in a podunk town for work last week had refrigerators this place does not. The 3rd floor ice machine is empty and 1st floor almost empty(was when I left), so these people are cheapskates. They can’t buy a 1.7 cubic foot refrigerator in bulk costing them probably $ 40 each but they have spent extra on special toilets that have special flushes for #1 and #2 to save money. Glad they spent the money on THAT. But Victor gave the place 3 stars. I’ll tell you why. Because he multi-tasked when the Internent wireless is bogged down he’s giving me an Ethernet cable while talking to a check-in. Then he did what 99% of the country won’t do. I went back to my room and the room card didn’t work. Victor said, that’s my mistake, I reset your room key by accident. MAJORPROPSTOVICTOR. Yes this was a hassle to get a new room key but he was HONEST and I can smell bullshit a mile away when I slam someone on Unilocal.Victor made this place 3 stars. I hope he gets a very good job managing a hotel someday. He has credibility, was fast, honest, admitted facts(faults), this is a good employee. He is above a good employee, he makes eye contact, he has a «command presence» as if he is in charge. The hotel should take note of his skills. I would hire Victor.

Humble but comfortable. After an array of halfway houses passed off as 2 star hotels, this 3 star oasis is a relaxing and pleasant surprise. Close enough to airport and only 20 minutes from downtown Grand Rapids. Free Parking. Free dependable wifi. Flat screen television Spacious rooms. Fantastic and helpful staff! Business center has a computer and it works, as does the printer. They have Microsoft Word!!! SCORE! A restaurant adjacent. Next to highway. In room coffee maker and hair dryer. Lots of in-room power outlets for recharging computers and phones conveniently located near the bed and tables so you don’t have to stretch out your chord, or work uncomfortably just to stay close to a plug. Humble decorations. Decent shampoo by «The San Francisco Company» Laundry on the second floor where i was able to wash all my bedbug infested clothes from last night’s nightmare! Fitness Center and pool. I would stay here again.
