I had her banana and strawberry cake pops at a party a few months ago and they were delicious, so I drove a country mile to try her cupcakes, Lawd knows i love cupcakes, so after reading all the wonderful reviews about her cupcakes i didn’t mind driving over 30 minutes to this place. I wanted to serve a few of her cupcakes at my Superbowl party, so I decided to drive over to G. P to try her cupcakes for the first time. I bought a variety of cupcakes, she didn’t have the flavor of cake pops I wanted so I missed out on that. Unfortunately her cupcakes gets thumbs down. I was very disappointed because she seems to put a lot of love into her cake pops but her cupcakes need some special attention too. I have frequent a lot of cupcake places in the metroplex and this is on the bottom of my list. I don’t understand the other Unilocalers giving such rave reviews but that goes to show our taste buds are truly different. Her cupcakes are the run of the mill average to me, nothing to brag about.

So excited to have a cupcakery close by! The flavors were amazing. Cake was moist, frosting was the right amount and the filling on the inside of some of the cakes was divine. It certainly cured my hankering for something sweet! We will definitely go back and try the other flavors.

Cake portion is smaller than when they first opened. Most cupcakes had a yummy filling when they first opened. So, less quality for same price. Good cupcakes overall.

I must say, this was a nice little surprise of having a cupcake place so close to my house. The inside décor reminds you of a high class baskin Robbins. You’re immediately in view of the variety of flavors and you’re even encouraged to free cake balls. Each cupcake we had was good(not the best), but very good. Customer service was patient and very friendly. Can’t wait to return :)

Awesome, awesome grown folk cupcakes. I was given a variety of cupcakes as a birthday present and my friends described it as having«cake-gasms»! They were so good. Will definitely get more!

I just received an email from the owner apologizing for the lost order. She said they found out that my order form had fallen off the clipboard where the order forms are kept. She also said they have changed the way they are stored to keep it from happening again. She also made good on the list order. So I really appreciate the follow up. Happy customer.

Wow, I thought I’d never again bestow a 5 star rating on a bakery. I think only Trailercakes, my all time favorite, shares this honor? Apparently I have unrealistically high bakery standards because the last like A MILLION bakeries I’ve visited were either flat 1 or generous 2 stars. Anyway, on to the sugary details! Huuuge honkin cupcakes. I actually reeeeeally wish they’d offer mini cupcakes, because bringing home 4 of these bad boys today was basically a threat to my fiancé’s life, hint hint owner. I bet the profit margin is higher for mini versus full… Right? Or something like that, I dunno. Please, just offer them instead of cake balls. Cake balls are weird and gross and nobody, namely me, likes them! They have all these crazy yummy flavors, like 12+ choices in the case both times I went, almost overwhelming but I love it. But they don’t have any schedule — the counter clerk told me that they just randomly decide what to bake each day. So I would *like* to come frequently and get 4 — 6 types each time, but I also need to not die!!! I love a big huge cupcake sometimes, don’t get me wrong. But minis!!! Consider it! PROPERFROSTING-TO-CAKERATIO!!! They dollop it on real healthy here, and let me tell you: I really appreciate that. It’s of a very airy whipped consistency though, so you still get that buttercream decadence, but it’s not overly rich. I love dense icings best, but this style is a close second best! Not too sweet at all, perfect amount of counter-balance salt. Cake consistency: you know those cake recipes that tell you to add a box of jello pudding mix into the cake batter? Yeah, it’s like that. Super puddingy soft and yummy. At least that’s how every one of the 6 cupcakes I purchased so far over two different days have been. Very specific, but very nice! I also tried a sugar cookie and the cookie itself smelled lovely and was very thick and soft, but I guess I’m just not a fan of hard royal icing like that. It was decorated very beautifully and precisely though, I felt! Picture attached! Negative thing: when I asked what fat the frosting was made with, the counter clerk didn’t know. She said she thinks it’s all butter, but she couldn’t confirm and didn’t offer to go check, just shrugged. They should know the product, owner! The positive thing that makes up for it: sopapilla cheesecake cupcakes!!! Omg, I’ve had that one twice now and have yet to take a picture of it. The other cupcakes have been absolutely delicious, but this is the one I’m thinking of still. I don’t even like cheesecake-y things or cream cheese based icings!!! This one is buttercream-y enough to be delicious, like how I make em myself! YUMMY!!! I’m so glad I found a great bakery nearby! Finally!!! :)

Excellent cupcakes. They did cupcakes(vanilla bean and chocolate) for my daughter 5th bday party. I’ve tried the banana pudding, red velvet, and the maple bacon and all are excellent. But I love love love the maple bacon cupcake.

Not sure why there’s a new Unilocal page for this business considering there’s already an existing page. Maybe to get rid of not so flattering reviews? Well I’ve visited«Big D» on three separate occasions. Since moving to the neighborhood they have sent out coupons in the Valpak or other random magazine-esque publications for a free cupcake. Since my mom told me about the business, I figured I would go try it out. The first time I visited, they were open but not really. Kind of weird. They were doing«samples» but then I was charged. I had a coupon so I did not have to pay but saying the word«sample» and not immediately following it with the word«sale» can be problematic. The lady I saw in the lobby, presumably the owner, was not very friendly. She was chatting it up with a couple but barely said two words to me. What a great way to build a rapport with potential customers. On my subsequent visits, I came in for a cupcake to try different flavors. I have tried carrot cake, red velvet, and strawberry. Carrot cake is probably my favorite. While lots of frosting is on the cupcakes, the cake part itself is fairly small. And I may be going crazy but I feel like the size of the cupcakes has decreased but the price has stayed the same. This cupcake spot is local and a small business, so I wish it well but I think they still have a couple of kinks to work out.
