So I just had to try out one of these drive up daiquiri places this weekend. I mean, how can you not love the convenience of driving up to a window, ordering an adult slushy, and driving away KNOWING that it is all legit. That was my concern for the longest time, in Texas, how? I know in Louisiana that is all good, all day, but here, I was not convinced that it was all legit. Now I know… they prepare them, then they seal them in a bag with your wrapped straws! Ta-da! I think it may skirt the legality of Texas laws, but hey, who am I to question any of that jazz??? It was really good! I had the sour apple and the husband had coconut, pineapple, and banana… I have to tell you that these were right on point. $ 12 for two medium 16oz daiquiris… not bad. I think I may just get a jug for the next time because I did want more after I got done with the first one… or I may opt for the large or XL size. I will say this, you may want to go before sundown… this just didn’t strike me as the best part of town… and it was a bit desolate when we went around 5:45 on a Saturday. So get your fix early umkay???

This place is pretty cool! I like the walk-up set up(the drive-thru ones I’ve been to sometimes are confusing) and I was very happy they were open regular hours on 4th of July and doing a brisk buisiess. We got the cherry lemondae combo and it was great but everyone else seemed to be ordering Swamp Water, maybe they knew something we didn’t? Some daiquiri places I’ve tried around here are so so sweet that it’s hard to get a buzz but with these that was not a problem. Got a gallon and drank it on Lake Grapevine watching fireworks, perfect. Didn’t see the option of extra shots like some places have but I didn’t need any! The area is a little bit sketch but there are some groovy old signs for buildings long since close along Jefferson that I liked seeing– the HiLo Danceland looked amazing, someone refurbish that place STAT!

This is my favorite spot in the DFW for daiquiris. The taste is different from the traditional ones back home, and Texas laws do not allow them to go crazy with the liquor: mix ratio, but there is just something about these things! I actually think I like the taste better than anything I’ve tried back home! The Tex-mex, which is a combination of long island, margarita, and beer is addictive(even if u hate beer, there is a huge chance you will love this drink). If you are in the Grand Prairie area, definitely give this drive up shack… well, a drive up!

Located just 10 or so minutes away from downtown Arlington, and even closer to downtown Grand Prairie, this place is the tops when you’re in the area and want a drive-thru wine-based daiquiri. I’ve had a few different flavors with amusing names, all of which have been good and made me giggle when I ordered them. I’m currently sipping on a «Dirty Kin Folk,» which is a simple yet delicious combination of peach and strawberry flavors. I want to try the«Pimp Juice;» I believe it has purple in it. A 28 oz. is like 8 and change, not a bad deal. I tip a buck because the service has always been exemplary. You can get a gallon of yr fave mix too for like 20-somethin’, if I recall the price correctly, but that’s harder to drink clandestinely on the way home. Geaux Mojeaux!
