I have been going to this dentist for a couple of years now. Even though I like the dentist, I can’t say the same for the front desk staff. My first incident was when the office moved from being off of I –20 to around the corner on Bardin. I was in the chair then I get a visit from one of the ladies at the front office saying I need to fill out paper work. OK!!! Where is the paper work I just filled out just months ago? Was it lost in the move? Why would you tell me when my mouth is numb? I don’t have enough energy to fill out anything!!! Why didn’t you say something before I got into the chair!(I just don’t like my information to be lost. Identity thief is real!!!) Second incident happened today. I was scheduled for a bridge. The last time I was there(7÷31÷2015), the insurance information was not on my estimate so I am thinking everything will be ok. Got there, look like my paper work was mixed up with a previous patient. One of the documents that I was suppose to sign was already signed. My name on the paperwork someone else’s signature… Now, I’m sent back to the chair, take a picture on that tooth, here comes what I will have to pay. I’m like there is really not that much difference from the original estimate. I’m just trying to figure out what’s happening, the insurance will not cover due to an existing precondition. My tooth fell out when I had insurance(which is something I have said before, I feel like a broken record, where are my patient notes?) My thing is whether or not the insurance covers it or not, this something that should have been looked into and discussed before the day of my appointment and before I was even put in that chair. I will take some of blame that I should have called repeatedly but I guess I am just spoiled by other doctors have called me to let me know the correct pricing before appointment.(Especially if the estimate didn’t included everything(insurance coverage and pricing) before I left my last appointment) I didn’t get anything done today cause I was a little bit irritated. I had a $ 200+ office credit(due to an overcharge, wrong code) and money on my HSA to do it but since I was highly irritated and I didn’t want my HSA level to go super low, I left a little unsatisfied. I am just going to sit for awhile(cool off) until I decide whether move forward in obtaining services here or not.

A year ago I decided to give dentists a try again after a series of bad experiences. I looked up dentists in my area and stumbled upon Dr. Troung. After placing a phone call and having my insurance verified, I was booked for a cleaning. Since then I’ve gone back twice more for a cleaning. I have other work I need to get done in the coming months and will trust Dr. Troung to get it done. Latricia and the other staff are all awesome and very friendly. While going to the dentist is still one of my least favorite things, the staff at Great Southwest Family Dental makes it a bit more bearable.
