This was the first time my boyfriend and I had stayed at a bed and breakfast. We were warmly greeted when we arrived and given our privacy during our stay, which is what we were hoping for. The whole place was clean and well decorated. It is located halfway between downtown Grand Junction and the wineries of Palisade(not far off I-70), which was very convenient for us out-of-towners.

I recently stayed at the Bookcliffs B&B. The rooms are clean and pretty. However, there were a few not so good points about the place. From the internet pics on their website, I thought the place was more secluded and in the country. But it is on a main, industrial type road. Also, we were drinking some wine and talking quietly in the evening but one of the owners told us at 10 pm we only had ½ an hour more to stay on the deck b/c the lights were on and it was disturbing people trying to sleep in the room attached to the deck. We paid to stay there and the deck is for everyone to use AND we were being quiet. Also, the other couple had to get up early the next day and get their breakfast(they serve breakfast there and it is good). So my boyfriend and I had to eat by 8 am too or we weren’t going to get our breakfast. I told her I wanted to sleep in(this was my vacation too!) so one of the owners said then I’ll get breakfast on my own. Also the website says NOKIDSALLOWED. But there 3 young grandsons were playing the front yard when we pulled up. Kind of uncomfortable walking past 3 young boys in your towel after a shower(they were watching tv in the living room). Also, it says private bath BUT they are not in the room except the master suite. I’m ok with that but we couldn’t use the bathroom right next door to us b/c that was for another couple. So I wouldn’t stay there again. Nice people and clean but otherwise next time I’ll pick a different place.
