We normally shop @ Albertsons for our monthly groceries. Recently we got a surprise. Typically they offer their senior discount once a month on Wednesday. During checkout we were notified that ALBERTSONSHAD ARBITRARILYCHANGEDTHEDAY, ONWHICHTHEYOFFER THESENIORDISCOUNT to Thursday THANKSALOT !!!

Pretty nice grocery store though it looks a bit dated. I like their seafood section and have bought excellent fresh clams there! Nice people working behind the counter and the fish looks fresher than in many places. Prices are good on frozen items. Veggie selection is not my favorite. Bakery also not my favorite — but in GJ we have great local bakeries and great places for veggies, so I do not look to the grocery stores for these items anyway. Nice deli with interesting cooked items to take out. A plus for me when I am busy.

The only reason I go to this Albertsons is because it’s ridiculously close to my house, most of the time they have cheeper avacados than City Market(for why, I don’t really care to know…) and their fresh french bread is awesome. They just took out their self check, which is good and bad. First of all, their system SUCKED and would yell at you every 3 seconds for going to fast, not also being a computer, and actually wanting to leave the store. What a life suck, but hey, at least you could handle your own business and be on your way. Now they have replaced them with two 15 items or less kiosks that most of the time only one person is operating… but it still moves things along. Also they are the only store in town that has Queen Anne’s White Cherries… Odd request I know, but sometimes you need things. As to pricing, besides the avocados, they seem to be much more expensive across the board compared to what you get from City Market. OVERALL: Just need a few things, sure, otherwise, take your business elsewhere.
