Was a pleasant afternoon break with a co worker before heading back to Fort Worth. I had a plain black coffee as I usually do. Asked for the strongest and was nicely assisted by the cashier. She even told me I had a free refill ! I am Brazilian and I love strong coffee! I will sure go back! Cute little coffee shop!

They have every flavor of Monin syrup you can use to create your favorite beverage, or buy a bottle to flavor your coffee at home. Either way, support your local coffee house, people!

I’ve been in Coffee Grinder several times. Actually, I’ve passed it going into H-E-B more than the times I’ve been there. Reason? It’s «okay.» If you’re into the specialty drinks, then that’s a whole other story. What do I appreciate? GOODCOFFEE. I’m a coffee purist at heart. I enjoy good coffee the way that someone would sip on a fine Cognac, or enjoy a great cigar. I’ve had some of the best coffees in the world, and the worst(Folgers, et al). It’s not that I am necessarily a «snob» about coffee, but I think there are some fundamentals to each brew. Perhaps the most important, is that the coffee is HOT. Yes, this means you can see steam off the top. There is no doubt that the coffee they brew may be «hot» at the time of brewing, but after it sits in that plastic decanter on the shelf for a couple of hours… it’s just above«warm.» I’ve had this happen enough times to warrant not coming back in… unless shopping desperation strikes. Coffee Grinder DOES have a nice selection of coffee beans and tea at your average premium prices. A great place to purchase such beans if you want to impress your palate while you take a hiatus from your daily Maxwell House, or to have a taste of what«real» coffee can taste like. The people are fairly friendly, and the atmosphere is «coffeehouse-trendy» in every sense of the word. People with laptops can take a break from their drive down to «the other guys,» to do their… whatever it is one DOES at a coffee house on a laptop. I’m still trying to figure that one out. Good luck Coffee Grinder! I’m sure you can do better than this if you think about it.

The Coffee Grinder re-opened in April of 2012 at their new location inside the HEB( …). It’s the same friendly staff and the same tasty product, only now it’s inside Granbury’s newest and most popular grocery store. It’s not the same charming historic building on the sqaure, but it’s still a good cup of coffee. I was happy to see a steady flow of customers, but it just does not feel the same without a view of Hood County’s historic courthouse(hey, great idea for a wall mural). Personally I can’t see driving to the HEB just to get a cup of coffee, but obviously another coffee purveyor realizes the value of a locations inside grocery stores, so I hope it works for The Coffee Grinder. The location is very convenient during shopping trips though, especially since HEB’s shopping carts have those oh so handy cup holders. PS. I was told outdoor seating is coming soon, but that was a while ago…
