A great stop for families. Really good hamburgers similar to the style you would serve at a family bbq. Thick burgers which had great flavor. The also offer hot dogs, corn dogs and wraps. It’s primarily an ice cream stand serving great food. The ice cream choicest are numerous with several healthy varieties from new berry and plenty of traditional offerings. The kids had snow cones, glaciers(basically a blizzard), and sundaes. They were all very happy. Reviews out of ten were 9.9, 9.7, and 10. If they had pancakes all the scores would have 10 out of 10. They’re biased towards pancakes. Definitely worth a stop when in Grafton.

Roadside place to stop while in Grafton. Hand dipped ice cream available. The flavors we liked the best were Moose Tracks and Butter Pecan. The strawberry was not so great. Ask for a sample before you commit to a flavor. If you get a waffle cone you can choose two flavors of ice cream. Waffle Cones are not homemade. Large portion of ice cream for the price. Friendly service. Stop by and give this independent business a try.

This review is for both the ice cream shop and the loft above it! The first time I went to Grafton it was to scope out a wedding venue. But I about died when I drove by The Whole Scoop because I have an obsession with ice cream shops, particularly the cutesy, family owned, non-chain type. After looking at the wedding venue(Pere Marquette Lodge, it was great BTW), I went for a run along the Mississippi River and carefully planned it to end at The Whole Scoop so that I could get some ice cream. My sundae was delicious, service was friendly, and the price was right. Then I noticed there was a sign about lodging upstairs from the loft and, thinking ahead for my wedding guests, I asked if I could see it. It was adorable!!! Flash forward to wedding time. I told my Mom about the Loft at the Whole Scoop and she booked it for two days before the wedding. It is basically a full 2BR apartment complete with living room, full kitchen, and laundry room. It is well cared for and adorably decorated. And the winter rates can’t be beat. We stayed at the lodge for wedding night, but subsequently got snowed in(yay winter weddings!). My husband and I attempted to drive home in the storm but made it from the lodge to town before deciding it would be ridiculous to try to keep driving. So, we had to find a last minute place to stay since we were stuck in Grafton. I immediately called Kim, owner of the Whole Scoop, and she was SOHELPFUL! And so friendly! She was happy to let us stay there for our last minute trip, and told us how to get in the loft and set us up with everything we needed. I can’t recommend this place enough– both the ice cream and the lodging. Family owned by wonderful people who truly take pride in the services they are providing. Excellent ice cream, excellent lodging, friendly people, great prices. Thank you!

While In Grafton and After eating lunch we decided to give this place a try. We tried the Only 8 ice cream and it was pretty good, it tasted a little funny at first but it grew on me. Kind of like honey and coconut at first, I guess this is from the natural fructose they sweeten the ice cream with. Other than that they have regular food like Hamburgers, Nachos, Pretzels, onion rings and many other treats that sounded great. The two girls that were working handled everything really well and had our ice cream out fast. I really felt that you got your monies worth with the size of cup they gave us. They had some park benches with umbrellas out front to sit at and napkins readily available. I think we will need to give this place another try and see what the rest of the menu is like.
