Ninja is an express version of Sumo’s. Its pretty decent for the price and the area. If you like the fried rice/chicken/beef from Sumo’s you will like this place. I like asking for their white sauce and drenching everything in it. There’s not a lot of options in Goldsboro, to be honest. And out of all the Chinese/Japanese restaurants, Sumo and Ninja does it best.

Stay away. A bunch of high school kid reheating processed chicken and rice. Not their fault that is what this place is. Miso soup tastes like old stale water, the ginger salad was lettuce and some ginger dressing on the side. Chicken teriyaki was grilled up chicken with brown rice, with packaged type sauce. It’s not Japanese food, it’s just the same instant food you find in Walmart– or at a buffet. Interior furniture was beat up, McDonald’s at least fixes their furniture when broken.

I always call ahead whether I eat there or take it to go, if you don’t you might be waiting a while. One other thing, if you love the chicken soup they make at Sumos, they don’t serve it here. Other than that, I think the food here is just plain delicious. Get the white sauce and pour generously on anything and it tastes even better.

Waited 20 minutes for 3 items, miso soup, steak teriyaki, and fried rice. Then I heard them call number 86 I looked at my own ticket and it was number 84. I went up and said excuse me I am number 84, a girl with stretchers and a pixie cut said Sorry its not ready yet. Mind you I was there before 86, at least 10 minuets before. And then they called up number 88 two minutes later. Also I was take out, take out should have been ready in 10 minuets. After another two minutes they finally called my number. I would give them no stars, never returning to this place. Ever!

Alright, so I’ve gone back a few more times, and I feel they have improved. I noticed a slight change in staff, and the cashier is much friendlier. They can be quite busy but my food never takes more than 10 minutes to come out. I now have tried the steak bowl cooked medium with steamed rice, and kimchi. Both are pretty delicious and my steak is almost always cooked just the way I prefer. I do recommend it if you want something quick and tasty.

Good food! Not too expensive and you get a good sized portion. It can get a little crowded during lunch time, and there is minimal seating. I recommend the steak bowl! It has better quality and quantity of food compared to the new location they just opened on Wayne Memorial. The Wayne Memorial location is a little bit more expensive, but has more seating.

The food is good enough most of the time. The service sucks all the time. Rude, inattentive cashiers.

The service here is not good, you might as well go to McDonalds. You get your own silver wear, drinks, everything and they call out a number to signal you are supposed to get your food, which I didn’t know and the girl and the register failed to mention. The food. It would be reasonably priced if it were worth anything. The steak was pure fat, I managed to tear the fat off about 5 pieces and eat it but most pieces were held together and twisted up with it. The rice had clumps and the veggies were still hard, not nearly steamed enough. It was hard not to ask for my money back. Do not waste time or money here.

Absolutely horrible. I got the chicken terriyaki and the meat was so overcooked it was like styrofoam. Rice was fair, vegetables were overcooked. I could not even eat it! I guess I should have expected as much for $ 7, but seriously?

Customer service here is not exactly the best in town. Like what other reviewers say, the cashiers should be made to understand that happy customers = good business = they keep their job. They probably need a good manager here to train their staff. Moreover, floor is oily/slippery not just near the bathroom area(which is adjacent to their kitchen) but also in the dining area. The food is alright, I usually order the bibimbab which is fairly decent. However, I realized that the taste is fairly inconsistent. No quality control here, I guess.

It might be because of this place’s cousin restaurant, Sumos, but I like this place. It has a similar taste(most likely because they use the same ingredients and cooking materials at both places) to Sumo’s hibachi menu while being a little cheaper. So it is like a fast food hibachi joint if you don’t have the time or patience to sit down and watch it get cooked in front of you(ain’t nobody got time fo dat). Quality of food I received was also pretty consistent. One of the few places I went to eat at when I lived in Goldsboro and has some nice«fast food» type hibachi meals to select from such as rice, chicken, salmon, etc bowls with either white or fried rice. You can also call in and place your order ahead of time so when you get there your food is ready and waiting to be devoured. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a relatively healthy place to eat at rather than getting a burger or something greasy without spending as much as a restaurant.

My family stopped in for a quick bite on a Friday night while in town for a swim meet. We thought we could get some white rice and veggies and chicken. The person at the resister seemed annoyed to have customers, but the place was packed so I thought we’d give it a try. After trying to ask just 1 or 2 questions and getting little more than an exasperated cashier we ordered. There are so few pictures so it was unclear as to what we were ordering. I got a bowl of greasy rice topped with a processed cut up chicken patty covered in a mayonnaise based sauce. Ugg. My husband ordered shrimp and was given chicken.(They did re-cook his). My daughter ordered the hibachi which was the best of a sorry bunch. Everything was very greasy. Overall: Horrible food. Terrible service. Fair atmosphere(but it looks like the put paper signs over a Mexican joint pulled in a few bamboo plants and called it Ninja) I will never go back.

The food is ok, and is pretty much anytime I’ve been. This particular visit today was enough to almost make me not want to go back and eat in… or at all. FLIES!!! There were flies everywhere. I counted no less than 10 on the fake bamboo plants behinds our table. There were countless more flying around the dining area… and in the kitchen as well I’m sure. Get them under control please.

I rarely re-review but here it goes. We went to Ninja for a quick and casual work morale booster lunch. I ordered the Veggie Entrée with fried rice($ 5.50). I was pleasantly surprised at the lightly fried tempura tofu on top of the generous helping of veggies. As for the star increase, they no longer put that signature Sumo white sauce in the fried rice.
