Wally’s Blackburn Bistro

Often working nearby, Wally’s is #1 on my list to stop and grab lunch, or even dinner (open until 7pm now!). I’ve also brought lunch from Wally’s to group meetings and everyone raved. There is a great selection at Wally’s and I’m working my way down the entire menu! Today I got a bacon cheeseburger and they nailed it. Wow. I also call ahead and the call-​ahead service is great; everything has been ready in 10 minutes. Staff is super friendly, I think it’s a family run operation. Prices are very reasonable to me. Generous portions, great value. It’s a little off the beaten path (in the Blackburn Industrial Park), but if you stop here for something to eat you won’t be disappointed.

Delish burgers at a great price! They have a wide array of food options that I’m dying to try. Will definitely come back to give their sandwiches and wraps a chance. Staff us super friendly and nice. They really seem to care about their customers :)
Would give 5 stars but I’ve a garlic allergy and they use garlic in most, if not all, their food options.

I’ve been to 2 events which Wally’s has catered and have enjoyed the food each time. The first time there were a selection of wraps and cookies and it was all good. Recently we were served chili [choice of Wally’s or vegan] and foccacia sandwiches. I had the vegan chili and a BLT foccacia and both were delicious. I really enjoyed the chili’s beaniness.

I’m pretty pumped I found this place. I tried a turkey club and the picture I added says it all. Nice crispy applewood-​smoked bacon and thick slices of freshly carved turkey. Wow. So good. Also it came with a huge pickle. Great lunch!

While working on a job in Gloucester I have had the pleasure of enjoying two meals (so far) at Wally’s. First, I tried the Reuben. It was amazing. Thick slices of home-​made corned beef and delightfully seasoned sour kraut topped with home-​made dressing wedged between butter toasted bread baked in the same kitchen. Sure, some places pack three times as much meat in a Reuben, but I personally felt that the thick slices were just right and didn’t miss a heaping mound of the shredded variety at all.
Today I tried the salmon cake salad– incredible savory and subtly sweet salmon with mango on top of a fresh baby spinach bed with red onions, goat cheese and a house made vinaigrette sealed the deal for me. At $ 9, this is a bargain. I’m pretty picky when it comes to quality, and I am impressed with what this place brings to the table. Also, good vibes all around!

This is probably only the second review I’ve ever written, but felt it needed to be put out there. The two men in front of me ordered salads. One wanted Italian dressing, they were out; the other wanted a cranberry walnut salad, they were out of cranberry’s; I ordered a Reuben, and shame on me for thinking it would have meat. Two very thinly sliced pieces buried between two large slices of bread. I thought at first I hit the jackpot, until I looked under the bread. And it wasn’t even good corned beef.

simply amazing, definitely a hidden gem. I wish I had known about this place a year ago when they opened! everything they use is local and fresh, as well as the meat, no deli meat! the menu is full of variety, definitely something for everybody’s taste! I will definitely be going back! Delicious coffee as well!

Great food at a great price made and served by great people! Always fresh and the highest of quality — this is a true gem and well-​worth seeking out! Highly recommend the «Day After» sandwich — turkey, stuffing, etc. And they are very supportive of the community, every time I go there is a portion of sales going to local causes. Grassroots family business they way it ought to be.

Some friends told me about how good the food was at this little off the wall bistro in Gloucester so we had to check it out for ourselves and they were right. Just the smell of the fresh baked bread and other homemade delights that they have cooking will have your mouth watering as soon as you walk in the door! Forget about pizza… you have to try one of their delicious Flatbread combinations! Their «Buffalo Chicken Flatbread» is just too darn good! It’s like a pizza only way better! The folks behind the counter were super friendly and pretty entertaining too. Every time we go there they have some new savory culinary delights cooking up.
Do yourself a favor if you’re in the Gloucester area and want an excellent «home cooked» meal made with just the right combo of fresh ingredients at a decent price and check out Wally’s! We loved discovering this place!
