Donuts were great. They’re huge, so I think they could’ve used a bit more icing on them. The pricing for the donuts and pastries is on the back wall, nowhere near the donuts — which made it a bit confusing. We asked a lot of questions and then finally saw the price list after we sat down to eat them. Oops! I think there might’ve been a bigger selection earlier today also. I wanted a filled donut, but they didn’t have any once we got there. Overall, very good donuts. $ 8.76 for half dozen.

This place is a must go for anyone who lives in the area, or is just driving through. The doughnuts here do not deserve fall in the same category as something from dunkin doughnuts or krispy kreme. They surpass your standard doughnut by so much in so many ways. The only way to truly understand is to try it for yourself. I will never see doughnuts the same way again.

Stopped in to get breakfast with a buddy before we picked up a trailer full of plants. Could not believe the selection and the staff was friendly and quick. Not to mention the place was extremely clean. My friend kept telling me about the apple fritters that I had to try. Sadly they were sold out by 8 am. I could not make up my mind so ended up with the cinnamon roll and a twist. Can’t wait to go back.

My niece LOVES donuts. That is something she and I share in common. For her 12th birthday, she wanted a Sunrise donut cake. A CAKE made of SUNRISE donuts. I ordered 5 dozen donuts and 3 dozen donut holes. These donuts are always fresh, with unique flavor combinations. I was glad we ordered so much because I got to try flavors I would not have otherwise tried. Her dad and my fiancé rave about the maple bacon, while my friend raves about the almond joy. I really like the lemon filled. My new favorite would be the donut holes. Light and airy. But I must say, these donuts are freaking huge. I’m glad they are over 30 minutes away or I would be as big as a house.

Donuts were good but only had 8 kinds to choose from. Would have been 4 stars but the older lady working the counter was not very nice acting like she was doing me a favor. Overall a good donut joint!

Occasionally will get donuts from here, to take to work. Selection is pretty nice, though you’ll have to get here early to see all of them. Good selection of specialty donuts, basic donuts, sugar twists and apple fritters. Donuts are big, a bit dense. My mom likes their sugar twists and apple fritters since they’re not sweet sweet. Though, I think the apple fritters could have more(or bigger?) actual apple pieces in them. The specialty donuts are a bit too sweet, even for me. The maple bacon donut is one of my favorites. Haven’t tried any of their other offerings, only come for the donuts.

This place beats dunkin donuts and krispy kreme hands down. My brother is visiting from NY and he said its worth the 500 mile trip. As he enjoyed his maple bacon donut I hear«that is awesome» & «that is crazy good». I heard lots of mmmm as he consumed his jelly donut. They piped the filling in fresh when he ordered. My custard filled donut covered in chocolate was light but had a bit of crispy. Had tons of custard. The other donuts look great but I can’t eat too much sugar at once. We may have to split one. :)

The doughnuts here are really great. The prices are good too. The bacon doughty is to die for. Probably the best pastry place I have ever visited, and I have visited a few(I have the extra large pants to prove it).

With all the excellent reviews from previous Unilocalers, I might have caught them on an off day. Sunrise donuts seems to be more about quantity over quality. My donut was huge but a little too dense. The icing came off on the paper they wrapped it in. The icing that I licked off the wax paper was a better experience than the donut itself. If you want coffee it’s in a single lonely carafe at the back of the store. They could definitely do a little better on the coffee front by adding decaf and a few more options. Today is Mother’s Day and I arrived at 9 am only to find mostly empty trays in the display case. Perhaps the early bird does indeed get the worm er, donut.

Went here this morning and was able to confirm that yes, this place is 5 star worthy. My friend and I each had the maple pecan and they were plump, light and airy(just as I like them), and fresh. The icing was divine. The coffee was also good. For the(huge) donut and a 16 oz. coffee it came to around $ 3.50. They have a nice selection, with more than a dozen flavors. The staff were friendly and the space is small, but cozy. They even open at 4AM during the week to accommodate early shipyard workers. I recommend stopping by if ever passing through Gloucester on 17 and need a quick snack.
