Excellent costumer service! They go out of their way to ensure you are happy and have everything that you need!

Ive been to so many other hardware stores around the Chicago area but I haven’t found any place quite like this place! Upon entering the store you see a pet welcoming sign and station for pets to drink water and have a treat, and free coffee for customers. The one notable thing i like about this place is the several different interesting items you can find at this store like Poo-​pourri and shoe-​pourri, catchy magnets, Vampire and zombie family stickers, etc. Sales on items are scattered throughout the store so you gotta look carefully on each aisle. Customer service is excellent here and quick check out process!

Very broad selection of hardware and décor, coupled with solid customer service. Unlike some other stories where the employees ignore you, the employees will go out of their way to help you. My only wish is that they had more tools made in the United States, but this is a larger issue in the hardware industry. The folks at GTV are doing the best they can to provide a service to the community. It’s nice to have 2 hardware stores in town.

I absolutely love this store! The merchandise is broad and the employees are extremely helpful when you need it. They’re also very nice! Since it has opened, it has been one of my favorite places to browse and buy. I’ve gotten lots of necessary items here and lots of Christmas presents too! It’s way more than just a hardware store. I will always love coming here! Oh, and don’t let me forget their «Ladies Night» events. They’re THE best-​great deals and lots of food and drink! Can’t wait for the next event!

Yesterday was my first visit to this True Value hardware store. My first impression was that the store feels new, clean, light and open. After doing some looking around, I found some neat stuff that I’ve never seen at a True Value store.
To me, the following is the reason we need to make sure hardware stores like this stay open. I watched the employees interact with the customers and I overheard the advice they gave. You see, I’ve owned rental property since 1989 and I currently own six properties, so I’ve repaired everything short of pouring a foundation. The advice they gave was right on and the customers were sure appreciative! Then I think of the numerous times I’ve been given the wrong information at a big box store or my helper asks for specific parts (the ones I sent them to get), but the clerk isn’t knowledgeable and gives them the wrong parts. Sure, that clerk was trying to help, but it doesn’t do me any good when I don’t have what I need to complete the job!
One other observation, stores like this have a much wider selection of parts; many of which are not available at the big box stores. For instance, I needed a quarter turn water turn off valve with a compression fitting and two outlets of different sizes. The big box stores carry the generic stuff, so they don’t stock this part. True Value does and when I’m doing plumbing work, it’s nice to be able to get the correct part vs trying to add adapters to the wrong part.
When I’m buying 60 bundles of singles or a dozen sheets of dry wall, the big box stores are the way to go, however when I’m not buying large quantities of standard building materials, I think it’s best to support my local hardware store, because if it goes away, my life will be a lot harder.

the store is close, the product selection is fair, the quality is sub-​par. the fellows walking around are very helpful. but because of the «rude» and course behaviour of the clerk, ill drive the extra few miles to get a better quality product and happy service.

Welcome to the neighborhood! I have always loved hardware stores and this one is a gem. I brought in screens that needed repair and a few to be rebuilt. They were done in a week, looked great and the price couldn’t be beat! Very helpful and courteous staff. They acknowledge you if they are busy and get someone to help as fast as they can. I can’t wait to go back for my next project.

Not your typical hardware store! Fantastic selection of flowers, plants, home goods, per food & gifts. Excellent customer service as well — locally owned by Glenview resident.

Have been trying to support this newly opened store as business seems slow.
Purchased some items yesterday and went in today to get a refund or at the very
least a store credit. My 5 pound dog destroyed a «Kong» like toy in just under
4 minutes. Totally surprised, Glenview True Value, absolutely refused to stand
behind their merchandise. Don’t return too many items, but I have never
had any problems – as retail stores in this economy recognize they have
to offer customers value and support. I indicated that I would not be return–
ing. So who wins? True Value kept my $ 8.00 and lost the repeat business
of a customer who owns a home in the area. I should have never left Ace–
my long time «go to.»

Great selection in this store! You can tell the owners have worked really hard creating a thoughtful store with a variety of items from home improvement needs to awesome water bottles. I love to support local stores owned by families and this True Value does that! Stop by!
