Card & Party Giant

I stopped in here twice during Halloween week, looking for devil horns. I have to say two things in their favor: 1.) they had a moderately better selection than any of the costume shops in Chicago; and 2.) their prices were far superior. I got one pair which needed some experimental home alteration, but I didn’t mind the risk since the cost was NINETY-​NINE CENTS. When that didn’t work out, I picked up a second pair which was unfortunately inside a kit containing other items that I didn’t want; but it cost 23% less than the exact same item at one of those city Halloween shops right in my neighborhood. I saved three whole bucks by stopping here.
My major complaint is service. It wasn’t horrid, but I noticed it. On my first visit, there was only one checkout clerk, who wandered away for several minutes to assist a customer in finding an item, leaving a line of people waiting to check out. On my second visit, there were two checkers, but both were in robot mode – no smiles, no eye contact, no pleasantries. Maybe they were frazzled by a rush of last-​minute shoppers, but come on – it’s one of the most festive holidays of the year. Share a little joy.
Curiously, C&PG also sells half a dozen varieties of fresh fudge.

Hands down the BEST party supply store in the Midwest!
Was in Chicago for a TV shoot and needed last minute party supplies and balloons to dress the set. This place has EVERYTHING including easy parking in their own lot! As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a nice woman behind the counter that was extremely knowledgeable and VERY helpful! She immediately gave me her full attention and walked around the entire store with me to show me where everything was that I needed, it was like having my own personal shopper.
This store is GIANT, thus the name and fully stocked with whatever one needs for their party or special occasion. I even wound up purchasing a few last minute gifts here for clients. When it came time to order balloons, I was overwhelmed by how many choices they had! (The prices were cheaper than Party City or those other «Big Lot» type party stores that take you an hour to find parking, and another 2 hours to get your shopping done! You can keep the big chain party stores… only SUCKERS shop there!)
So I ordered 6 dozen balloons (Both Mylar and Latex) for the shoot but I had an issue, the shoot wasn’t until the next day and the Latex balloons may not last that long. The woman said to me, «No Problem, where and when do you need the balloons? We will deliver them». I couldn’t believe the outstanding customer service she offered me! I told her the shoot was in the city so I was sure it would be too far for them to deliver, but she told me they deliver into Chicago all the time. DONE! I paid for all my supplies, gave her the time and address where to deliver the balloons and the next day, someone from Card & Party Giant showed up ON TIME with the balloon order and even helped set them up for the shoot! Absolutely OUTSTANDING customer service!
The Bottom Line:
Card & Party Giant saved me both TIME and MONEY! This place ROCKS! The only problem with this store is that there are not more locations nation wide! Enjoy!

I went here today to get New Years party goods for our upcoming NYE party. The staff was very helpful and friendly and I was able to come home with an abundance of decorations, kits, and wearables all included in a kit! Thought I was going to spend a lot but didn’t have to! Also they have check-​in specials and Facebook specials if you visit their website! Great store and new location!
