I went there to get my eyes checked. The doctor did a fine job with evaluating my eyes and was knowledgeable and helpful about options. However, it seemed like he was most interested in selling me glasses. I have always gone to Costco and like their glasses. Dr. Dembo’s staff seemed unwilling to submit a claim to my insurance company, despite the fact that the BCBS web site says they are in my network. When I asked them if they had checked with my insurance (as they said they would), the response I got was, «They were closed when you came in.» The told me I should submit the claim. In general, the exam was good, but when it became apparent to them I was not going to purchase glasses, I felt treated like a 2nd class citizen. I will say though, they did so with a smile.
