We worked with Erin for our elopement. He was on time, courteous, professional, flexible, understood our needs and, most importantly, created beautiful memories for us for a lifetime. We would definitely use him again, if we lived in the area.

1. High quality, professional portfolio demonstrating their expertise as well as their flexibility in shooting all types of experiences and events.
I planned our wedding (elopement) from a distance and so all I had to work with, when selecting photographers, was what they had online.
The portfolio /​blog at G9N is not only FULL of incredible photos, but also reflects a variety of events, styles, and personalities. We loved that the photos reflected each event in really special ways and, for my husband and I, their documentary style of photography brought us to contact them early in our search process.

2. Communication
We relied on email for our communication. Emails were responded to within hours. They also emailed in advance of the big day to confirm details. They sent follow-​up emails were sent before we got home. Teaser photos and delivery of photographs (online and by mail) ended up coming in earlier than promised.
3. The perfect balance of personable and professional…
I want anyone I hire to be professional. It is important, however, when interacting with your photographer, for there to be the right amount of chemistry to get the photos you really want. Erin and Jason were flexible, thoughtful, funny, and kind… in addition to being on-​time, polite, and professional.
4. Effective coaching
Going into this, I thought I knew exactly what I wanted.
(I absolutely had a Pinterest board of photos that I wanted to take. Upon arrival, I gave the gentlemen a map of the area with places I thought would be cool to take photos.)
That being said, I trusted them to make decisions about what photos would be best where. They know more about light and perspectives than I could ever hope to. They selected locations that we would have completely missed if we weren’t open to their professional expertise.
In the moment, for the photos themselves, Erin and Jason expertly coached our poses, positions, and placements. If you’ve ever had photos done before (graduation, engagement, etc.) you know how it can feel odd to be told to, «put your hand here,» and, «look at her ear,» to get the right shot. Erin and Jason used their experience, my requests, and sprinkled in a little humor to guide our actions and coach photos that are unbelievable.
Notes:
For those hiring Erin and Jason for a wedding… our situation was unique in that we weren’t hurrying to a reception or trying to corral a large wedding party with family members. If you hire Erin and Jason, consider having the «posed» photos done before the wedding so you can spend time with them and not feel rushed.
Trust is important: I gave them ideas and requests but, ultimately, gave up control and trusted them.
I am so thankful. Their professional expertise guided the incorporation of our wants and needs into a collection of absolutely STUNNING photographs.
(I know that I’ve used the word STUNNING too much… but it is the best word to describe their work.)

These guys are amazing photographers. We booked them for our wedding at the auto museum on 10−10−10 and we couldn’t have been happier! The pictures are simply amazing, especially a shot that overlooked our reception. I highly recommend them! It’s been 3 years and my wife and I still look at the pictures frequently.
