Domenic Tailor & Tux

Do not do business here!!! He rented us a pair of shoes that fell apart 1 hour into my son’s Senior Prom. When I returned it and explained the situation, he threw the shoes on the floor, began to swear and told me to get out. I can not believe someone would treat customers this way! Prices are cheaper than the place down the street but you get what you pay for, in service and product.
I should have known when we entered the location. The décor is straight out of the 80’s and it looks like it has not been cleaned since then!

My son wanted a tux for his 5^th grade promotion, last minute. I did not think I could get one in 1 ½ day… but I did! Was driving by and saw Domincs tux rental and thought I’d try. I was pleasantly greeted by Samir (Sam), the owner. Told him what I was looking for and needed it by the next morning. He wasn’t sure because typically you get fitted and then it is sent to dry cleaners and then you pick up. But I was desperate! He measured my son. Had a few pieces in the back that were just cleaned… and he made it work. With a few alterations, I picked it up that night and it fit perfect! My son was happy and I was happy!
Place is a bit dusty with a bit of a smoky smell, but he knows what he’s doing and a really nice guy. I will return anytime for a rental or alterations!

When it comes to getting formal dresses altered, I always come here. The first time I went to go see him was to get a strapless, fully sequined, formal dress fixed so it wouldn’t fall off of me. The owner examined the dress very well and pinned it without pricking me with any pins. He admitted that the job would be difficult due to the large amount of sequins and the fact that the dress had corset wiring on the inside where it had to be taken in, but he was able to get the dress to fit me wonderfully! For $ 50! The price may seem pricey to some, but compared to a lot of other places it’s an amazing price. His patience and amazing work is also worth every penny. I got my dress returned to me, altered, at the perfect time. I’m currently waiting for another dress to be altered by him, this time it is a long formal beaded gown, this will cost me $ 75 due to the large amount of work that must be done to it. I always tell people to go here for alterations!

Domenic Taylor & Tux is a hidden gem for tailoring, wedding, and tux rentals in the Glendora-​SGV. The store is named after the owner and tailor himself, Domenic, who is an older gentleman that I’m guessing is originally from Eastern Europe.
First word of advice, don’t judge the excellent services Domenic provides by the front of the store. I say that because, more than likely, the dustiness and freaky manikin wearing a wedding dress will throw you off. That much said, Domenic is a master tailor and anything you rent from him is top quality, clean, and professional.
Second word of advice, since I’m guessing English is Domenic’s second language, you’ll notice he has an accent, just make sure to communicate what you want clearly and properly. Having been in the service and retail industries myself, a customer’s natural tendency is to expect people to know what they want without communicating it. It’s as if customers expect people to read their mind, which is an unrealistic expectation. So when you want something tailored, need a tux, or need a dress, prom, or wedding dress adjusted (for the women out there), then it’s vital for you to express what you want and communicate it clearly. Do that and I promise you Domenic will work his magic.
Lastly, on an important note, Domenic has a reputation for taking tougher jobs that most other tailors won’t dare touch.
Important Note: I find the person that left the first review of Domenic Tailor & Tux premature, especially since the person who left the preview hasn’t had anything done or experienced the services Domenic provides.

This place was not very appealing at all. As soon as I opened the front door, the tiny store wreaked of cigarette smoke. There is no way I’d want to wear something from such a stank place, especially for something as special as my wedding.
Furthermore, the customer service here was sub-​par. The man that helped me spoke fast and low, making it difficult to understand. He hardly helped with trying to show me the different styles they offered.
There is NO WAY I’d recommend to get anything from here — whether its a tux rental or tailoring job (unless you love the aroma of smoke on your special night).
