MGN Five Star Cinema

Nicest movie theater I have ever been to, hands down! It’s very clean, has reclining seats, you don’t feel claustrophobic at all! I even had enough space for my large Labrador retriever dog to sit with me on the seat next to me (didn’t bring him, but the fact that this thought crossed my mind shows you how much space there truly is!) service was excellent, and you don’t have to sit through a bajillion annoying commercials. Can’t wait to return!

Saw a movie here finally the 1^st day Star Wars: The Force Awakens was available. We really liked our experience at the MGN Five Star Cinema. Everything from the comfort of the leather bound recliners to the customer service of Chris X. was really above and beyond what I expected.
We had bought our tickets ahead of time online to beat the expected madness of the initial week’s showing. We were able to secure 2^nd row seats all the way to the right of the cinema. I was a little worried being that close would bother me as I’m not used to seeing movies that close to the screen. But the fully reclining leather seats took care of that and I didnt get the motion sickness type of feeling I was worried I would get sitting that close. So definitely that’s a luxury in more ways than one at this cinema.
There are no concessions at MGN. Everything is ordered and delivered at your seat at the push of a button. Like I said, the leather recliners you sit on are buttery and very comfortable. (I saw a couple as we were leaving bringing in throw blankets with them. Ha!) The button you push to order is at the swivel out tray attached to your seat. Unlimited popcorn is distributed about 15 mins before showtime and around an hour into the film. Chris X., the staff member who took our order and made sure we had a great time had a great attitude about him. We really appreciated that. There were only about 8 – 10 rows of seats in the theater we were in and the seats, coupled up, were spaced out from each other.
We ordered street style beef tacos (3 per order) and fries. Both were very tasty. Fries came with ketchup and ranch and were cooked perfectly crispy. The tacos were good. We have friends that only watch movies there now and refuse to go anywhere else so they filled us in on what was good on the menu.
We paid to park in the lot behind the cinema as the parking lot at The Exchange was full. I cant remember how much it was. It was less than $ 10… Great place to watch a movie when you want a little luxury to your experience. There is a full bar as part of the MGM just across the way from the cinema’s entrance. Sounded like there was a DJ playing music there as we were leaving. Pretty loud in there from what I observed. We’ll be back for sure and maybe check that side out.

My friends and I live in the Orange County area, and we really wanted to see Star Wars in comfy lazy boy chairs, but the theaters in Orange County that offer those chairs. were all booked for the day we wanted to go. So we decided to drive out here and make a day of it.
Overall, it’s a nice theatre, in a good area, but it has some flaws…
The chairs are comfy, I’ll give them that. But… the tickets were $ 21? Ouch?! We were given a free bag of popcorn– albeit, the bag was small, most of the bag just had bits and pieces of popcorn, and well, it was cold. So, meh.
My friends and I also wanted to order drinks, so we kept hitting the button for our seats and it took more than 20 minutes for someone to come out. HOW?! There were 5 people in the theatre– that’s including me and my two other friends.
The annoying part is the guy came out to get our order right when the movie started. so that writing in the beginning of all the Star Wars movies that sets up the plot… yeah. That’s when he decided to come in and talk to me. Why, man, why? I gotta know what’s happening…
Anyway, so that was the experience. Comfy chairs, but that’s about it. I don’t think I’d come back, I’d rather go to the AMC in Fullerton that offers the lazy boy chairs– their service is faster and more efficient if one wants to get food or a drink.

Used to come here at least twice a month until they recently raised their ticket prices. $ 50 for two people is A LOT especially when you want to order food. Be prepared to spend at least $ 100 on a movie night.

Screw this place. This place has the gall to call themselves five star cinema? In which universe? Maybe only in the movies they show.
Well, I guess their standards are very different in Russia, Armenia or whoever is laundering money because no one was here! I repeat: in the peak duration of Star Wars showings, no one was here. The whole place was really strange.
Came here for a noon showing of Star Wars and everything seemed disorganized. No attendants on duty to point my brother and I in the right direction; attendant shows up with our popcorn about twenty five minutes into the movie, and it came out like cold and flavorless.
Manager had the face that screamed: I don’t want to be here .
Oh, and seats were sticky and not clean. The only place that was clean was the bathroom. I think five star cinemas slogan should be rebranded as: no star cinema, five star bathroom.
Go to iPic, or better yet the two dollar theater. Heck, before I ever come back here id rather Torrent the movie and risk getting sued.

Went there today had a horrible experience I sent an email to customer service so hopefully they get back to me and make it right because this is the only theater we have gone to in the past 2 years .
Had to buy 7 tickets over the phone because the website wasn’t working, girls in front LOST THEM AND MADE US MISS THE FIRST 5 – 10 MIN OF STARWARS while we waited for them to find them … I tried to give them the card i used to pay but apparently they cant use that to look them up. I was lied to about the seats I wanted and told they were taken even tho i noticed no one was sitting in them at the end of the movie so instead of my family sitting together we were here and there scattered all over the theater. They also kept giving my 15 year old niece the mimosas I was ordering
. Usually they just mess up our food order or take forever bringing it out …
This time we missed the epic star wars intro and couldn’t sit together because the girl in front lied to me .
I spent all that money so we could have a 5 star experience … This was anything but

I come here when I’m really looking forward to seeing a movie. It’s comfortable and offers luxury to an otherwise ordinary movie watching experience.
The staff is friendly and the theater is nice. I recently ordered tickets in advance and had to cancel because of an unexpected incident and returning the tickets was very easy too.

Great movie theater, seats are very comfortable, everything is clean from the theater to the restrooms and everywhere in between. Restaurant staff is friendly and service is great. Staff and serving inside the theater is wonderful, stay out of movie watchers way and duck in order to allow everyone to see the movie and not disturb anyone.
The only reason I am writing a negative comment is because of the manager/​owner who ruined Star Wars by giving away the ending of the film to myself and the 3 others I had with me. Very unprofessional to start the night off with that and then finish the night with laughter asking «how did you like the ending?»
Will NOT be a return customer…

We loved it here. This movie theatre is high quality, luxury seating and excellent service. I was surprised by how good the food is. It was far and above anything you would expect. We had the chance to meet the chef who prepared everything to perfection and the manager Dennis who made us feel like family.
We will certainly be back

I walked into the bar area and was greeted by Adrine the bartender who was so nice and helpful! I love bloody Mary’s so after I had hers, I was in absolute awe. I’m very picky about how it should taste but she gets ¹⁰⁄₁₀. She had suggested trying the Michelada, needless to say, I had about 4. SO DELICIOUS! She is a drink wizard, I swear. The food was amazing, I was honestly surprised at how much flavor the wings had. I will definitely be back, not only for a movie because the food and drinks exceeded beyond ANY AND ALL of my expectations.
The movie theater was amazing! It’s like sitting on a reclining sofa with one other person and you can adjust the seats. They are also kind enough to give popcorn and you can order anything you’d like while enjoying your movie. I think it’s well worth the price.
I will definitely be back for another fun night of drinks, food and a movie! :)

Five stars all the way… really nice complex, comfortable recliners, good service and yummy food… for $ 25 it’s worth the price and you get unlimited free popcorn with your ticket. SCORE!

The reason to come here is better availability than iPic and comfortable seats. In addition you get free popcorn with every movie
No complaints specifically but did not have the same level of efficient service when compared to iPic. But at a cheaper price and more screenings, you can’t beat this place in Glendale!

I would normally recommend this place. But since last nights experience I wanted to write this review.
Any other night wife and I always had a great time. Movie was always great and the service was ok.
I never had the good experience with service. Not sure because of the newly hire. But they don’t have customer service experience.
Drinks from the bar take awhile. Food is ok. We always get the rib eye tacos. About 6 months ago the food was more presentable and had more flavor. Since the new menu and new drink options I thought it be for the better. The bar menu did get better but the same item on the food menu was just like any other taco.
Last night experience, 11/​20/​2015 was the worst MGN cinema experience ever.
Wife and I ordered our drinks. 805 for myself, hot tea for the wife with lemon and honey on the side. It took about 4 servers, 10 – 20 mins for our honey. Each person we asked said they will be right back with it. And it never came until the 4^th person we asked.
Then when it came down to paying, Anessa (our server) accidentally changed a wrong amount. So she took it to the manager and told the manager that the customer said it was ok to refund and recharged the amount. Not once did she ever came to us and ask if that was ok. Then when Anessa came back to me, explaining what happened and said the manager had did the action of the refund and recharge the corrected amount. So then I was upset, the fact that they didn’t ask for my authorization on the second charge.
Once the movie was over, we quickly went to the manager and spoke to Alan. He said that the server Anessa said the customer was ok with the second transaction. Right then I said I was never asked and that she is lying. So only thing they could do is give us vouchers for our next movie. And discount on the food and bar menu.
So if you ever get the server Anessa, use cash and request a new server. She need to be fired since we were not the only customer that day for complaining about her service and lying habits.

You know, I think I’m a little spoiled with Cinepolis down in San Diego. Although, the food was wwaaaayyyy better here so I have to give it to them for that.
Came here on a Friday night and my friend had ordered the tickets online before we got there which was nice and easy. We decided to go to the bar first (which is in the building before you walk into the theater… kinda confusing) and order our drinks first. We were able to get our drinks and walk across to the theater which was pretty cool.
As for the seats, they were nice and comfortable. Service was meh. They weren’t horrible but when we ordered our food they didn’t bring out the beer until way later which doesn’t really make sense. But, besides that, it was great!

This place seems like a well hidden theatre. But this place is wonderful! There is a lounge and a bar in the front to hang out and chill before the movies start.
Similar to iPic theaters with big reclining seats and food and drinks available during the movie.
The price I think was around $ 15 so it wasn’t bad for the amenities.
I got to eat fries and drink while watching Mission Impossible so I was happy.
Service was great and it was clean.
Go during the mornings or afternoons before the dinner and late night rush!
Worth it ! Changes your style of movie experience.

That’s too bad. When I purchased tickets online for this theater Saturday, my husband proclaimed it his favorite theater in LA.
However, based upon the service, he now says, forget it.
Husband and I arrived on time for our movie Saturday, Straight Outta Compton. We weren’t that hungry since we just had a bite at Frame128. All we wanted was a couple of drinks, popcorn & candy.
I pressed the button for service. A couple minutes later, he pressed the button for service. After 5 minutes, I pressed the button, again. Another 5, he presses. You get the point. After 15 minutes, clerk appears to take our order. I order the items; however, when I attempted to order Peanut M&M’s, they were out. Fine.
After a while, our popcorn, wine & water arrived. I gave her $ 100 bill. She didn’t return with the change. Husband decides to order Buncha Crunch. I pressed the service button. About 10 minutes goes by before someone appears. They were out of Buncha Crunch, too. SERIOUSLY? That’s 2 candies. I mention that I wasn’t given change and he said they thought we were keeping our tab open. I ordered a Moscow Mule and told him to close out the tab.
Moscow Mule & change were brought.
MGN is going to have to up the ante to compete with Arclight. The seats are great, BUT compared to our prior visits, this was the worst service we had. Plus, we weren’t even ordering meals, but typical movie snacks, which they were out of.
I’m not sure if this was just an off night, but we were disappointed.

I was only back in LA for a couple of days but spending time with the fam often involves going on a family outing to a movie. Of course their favorite place to go is Five Star because they have these huge lounge chairs that you can recline in and order food. The screen is perfectly situated and it’s actually not that much more expensive than say any other theater around here. I was surprised to see that there was practically no body there that day and I don’t know how much longer they will be able to keep it up. I am glad though that we were able to take advantage of the fact that we were the only 4 people in the theater.
I have one big criticism however which docked them a star. They respond way to slowly to the call button for food. They took about 20 min before anyone showed up and they showed up to the wrong chair. Ideally they should try to take orders before the movie starts as well and not wait until half way through the intro to come badger us about drinks and food. Seriously, if you’re going to call yourself 5 stars, act like it. Plus most of the people working there were in their 20s and chatting with each other ignoring customers who are standing at the counter. Nothing wrong with people in their 20s and nothing wrong with chatting with friends but listen, if there are customers, address their questions and then get back to your friendships. You’re getting paid after all… or are you?
Parking across the street and this area of Glendale isn’t particularly packed.

Wow I wished I had seats like these at home! I love how plush they are and they recline too. There is so much space. They also have call button in case you’re hungry for food or drinks. Place is very clean. I really enjoyed watching movies here. You can also host private event here. They have multiple rooms for entertaining.
MGN Five Star Cinema is truly a 5 star theater.

MGN Five Star Cinema give you a reason why you should get out of your house and watch a movie at an actually theater. Super plush seats that recline to the position that’s perfect for you! Feeling a bit peckish? Use the call button on your seat tray to call over a server who’ll take your order and allow you to select an actual menu item from the kitchen. Want to host a party, they have multiple lounges to choose from!
Do yourself a favor, turn off the Netflix and watch a movie at a Five Star Cinema, MGN Five Star Cinema that is. #seewhatIdidthere

This place isn’t as terrible as others have made it sound. Yes it’s expensive but you get what you pay for.
$ 19 got me a ticket to see a great movie in a super comfy chair that reclines with the push of a button and swivel table top for all of ones munchies and bebidas
$ 29 got me an order of filet mignon mini tacos and turkey wrap with fries (to share with my mom) brought to me by friendly staff during the movie
If you want this kind of service and comfort, you pay the price
Def a nice place to go to on a date or special occasion :)
Food review: 5 mini tacos were tasty especially with the fried taco shell but super mini. Why not just make it two large ones?
The turkey wrap was large and in charge with a side of fries that were so-​so.
