Glendale classic. Good Service. Good food. Good music. The band got going more once the just for dinner crowd was gone.

Awesome place. Food was delicious! I got the Horseradish Crusted Salmon and OMG, it was to die for! If you are in a mood of chilling with friends go there. Live jazz band was amazing. We were on a double date and having that music in the background was very nice. Too bad there is no dance floor. It would’ve been perfect. Service was great. Their tiramisu is a bomb! No valet. Only parking in the street, kind of sucks because on Brand and weekend is really hard to find a close spot. Lot of cops driving around so be careful!

One of the best restaurants in Glendale. Great food(try the ribs), excellent cocktails, solid live music, nice cozy atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff, and reasonable prices. All the essential elements to a great spot.

Great time at JAX Bar. Came on Saturday night and was seated right away. Not too crowded but just the right amount of noise. Sound level of the band was perfect level. Speciality drinks were very wood as well. Ordered the chicken fried steak and I destroyed it. We will definitely bring quests from out of town here

Had dinner there on Thursday, mostly a positive experience. Went to see a jazz band, got seated close to the stage. Was handed a menu and was asked about drinks right away. Lots of nice dinner choices, decided upon the pork loin and a coffee. Meal was good, but the pork was a little too dried out. Coffee was ok. The waiter was pleasant, but fairly inattentive. Had to hail somebody else down for a coffee refill. Heard a great band, and will make a return visit! Music –A, establishment –A, server –C.

Really enjoyed our visit. The sauces and salad dressings were homemade. The Caesar dressing was excellent, as was the Diablo sauce. We had the added benefit of «monster» music on Halloween.

Food is horrible, and it’s been that way for years. What is the managemnt thinking? The bar is good, and while drinks are expensive during happy hour. Their solid Republican based customers make up for their lack of business skills. One star for the high cost of happy hour drinks, and no stars for their food. A great bar if you do not eat, and the music sucks. Bad management overall. The owner must be on his death bed, because no one in his right mind would let jax become a mediocer restaraunt.

Food is good. I would like to go back and check out the ambiance on the weekend because we were there in the middle of the week. Service was good. Will definitely come back some time soon.

Great entertainment and great drinks… the manager, Enrique, is a total asshole. He followed my roommate and I into the bathroom and asked her if I was a man… he asked if we were«doing something». I am not a MAN, but a woman with short hair… my husband made him apologize to me since he had no intention of doing so on his own volition.

I visited wit my sister because it had a good score on Foursquare. But it was not that great to us. The service was OUTSTANDING! But the food was mediocre at best. The saving grace would be the friendly staff and the live music. Otherwise, I am perplexed that it’s so popular. Go for drinks and music, but don’t go hungry. Enjoy the live music. It was fun to listen to.

My husband and I recently discovered Jax. WELOVEIT!!! It’s low key, no cover, no minimum. The servers and the bartenders are wonderful and the food so far, has been good. The bands… let’s talk about the bands. They are ADORABLE! We’ve seen two shows so far — Lenny Stack and Windy City Blues Band — both great. Older jazzy folks. Boy… do they have passion and heart for this stuff. There should be more places like Jax, us «youngins»(if I can even call myself that anymore) need to step back from modern noise every once in a while and appreciate real tunes. One suggestion for Jax though, and I’m sure I’m not the first to say — Please expand your stage :) Thanks.

Had heard about this place for years. Decided to finally give it a try. Upon entering, seems like a very old world vibe, and most the old the geographic there were elderly or going on elderly, which was expected from a jazz based bar and lounge. Couldn’t really figure out where the hostess stand was but I ventured down and found it eventually. Staff all seems personable and friendly, and love that they have jazz performances every night. Food however was not something that I would come back for. Everything tasted bland, and just blah food overall. But then again, you come here for the jazz and maybe a drink. So it’s definitely a good environment for that

I ordered the special beer battered fish tacos with a cup of clam chowder. The clam chowder was very tasty and the fish tacos were decent. Our waiter was nice and the food came out at a reasonable time. The atmosphere was decent but nothing special. Overall a solid lunch.

Ohhhh Jax! My brother brought me here for the first time a few months ago because he swore by their food. We headed out there for lunch and I was shocked by the interior of the restaurant. If you don’t like dark spots, I wouldn’t recommend Jax. Definitely needs some renovation. The food on the other hand is DELICIOUS! If you like chicken sammiches, you’re in for a treat! It comes with beer battered fries. The service is okay– nothing over the top. Parking is difficult because it is next to Portos on a busy street. Try it out and let me know what you think!

Live Jazz music = Awesomeness! The crowd was older but what stops you if you love jazz music? And live?! They have different bands that performs almost every night. So you have no excuse to not come and check this place out. It’s definitely a «date night» type of ambience. BUT also a place where you can hang out with your girl friends. My boyfriend and I didn’t know we walked into the back entrance. So we sat ourselves. The waiter was nice enough to let us have the booth that we chose and took our order. We are DEFINITELY coming back!

The bottom line is the food is pretty good, but this restaurant needs a decent cleaning crew and some things repaired. Food: 4⁄5 Stars I ordered the shrimp scampi with angel hair pasta and it was good, but a little watered down. It would have helped if they had taken the hard tails off the shrimp so I didn’t have to fiddle with every single one. My husband ordered the steak and mashed potatoes and he liked it. I had my heart set on the bread pudding for dessert, but it just wasn’t as good as it used to be when they served it in a sundae glass years ago. Now it’s served on a plate ala mode. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the peach cobbler. I ordered a Moscow Mule and that was horrible. It was overly sweet with no ginger and not enough lime. It was served in a copper mug that had Stoli written on it, but it tasted like bottom shelf vodka to me. Kind of a rip off at $ 10. Service: 3⁄5 Stars Our server forgot my coffee and we had to flag down bus boys to get refills on soda and water. Parking: 3⁄5 Stars Metered parking in front or a metered lot in the back. Atmosphere: 1⁄5 Stars The light fixture above my head and mirror on the wall were both filthy. The seat in the booth we were sitting at had numerous tears. The owner needs to start putting some money into renovating and cleaning this restaurant. I don’t know why I am surprised because the other restaurants owned by this same family are pretty worn out too. Recommendation: If you want good food, free jazz music and don’t really care how clean a place is then you will probably like this restaurant. I used to like it in the 80’s and 90’s, but it’s a little too shabby for me in its current condition.

Glendale is lucky to have such a fine establishment as Jax. Quality live Jazz music 7 days a week with no cover? Brilliant. When you walk in you are transported back in time straight to the ratpack era. The vibe is old school, but in a completely refreshing way. The food and service was A+.
