I had a terrible experience at Dr. Devari’s office. I was referred to him by a co-​worker and called in to set an appointment. WHen I asked for the office manager to check to see how much my first visit (for X-​Rays) would cost, she said it would be free for that and my cleaning. Dr. Devari was a good dentist, so I was happy things were working out.
Flash forward to two months later when I’m getting a bill for a hundred and forty bucks. They either didn’t check my insurance or just wanted my business, hoping I wouldn’t fuss later. Either way, I refuse to be a client of a client that surreptitiously bills you for things they told you they wouldn’t at the onset. After reading other Unilocal reviews, I see that I’m not the first to be taken advantage of.
I highly discourage other patients from using Dr. Devari. I liked the man himself, but he has got to get another office manager or straighten out his billing practices.

I had initially searched on Unilocal to find a dentist that had good reviews. I recently went to my initial appointment at this dental office. Everything went fine, they even went over the procedure that the doctor had recommended based on the x-​rays.
When I was given the co-​pay amount at the end of the treatment session, I was a little skeptical about how steep they were. Therefore, I informed them that I would call for an appointment when I am ready.
Meanwhile, I wanted to make sure that the prices that were given to me were in compliance with my HMO dental plan. I called the front desk and they were able to fax over to me the the treatment plan and procedures which was really helpful when I had to contact METLIFE to confirm the co-​pay amount.
I called Metlife and sure enough a procedure that Dr. Davari’s office was charging me $ 160.00 was supposed to cost me only $ 35 – 40 dollars depending on the whether it was a 3 or 4 surface filling.
I called the Dental Office and advised them that I had in fact called my dental insurance and I had given them the exact codes and that there was a discrepancy in the co-pay’s. The front desk office put me on hold and returned and said, «I just Spoke to the doctor and Dr. Davari said that, that is our co-​pay.» In simple terms, he doesn’t really care what your dental insurance said, if you are not willing to pay for this you can go somewhere else. She also added, «The doctor said, if you would like he can fax/​email over your x-​rays.» In simple terms, meaning please go find a new facility if you are not willing to pay for the copays. First of all, since when does the doctor take care of billing issues. Second, I refuse to continue seeing a dental office that partakes in unethical billing despite having contracts with HMO Insurance plans.

One word: AMAZING! I have been a patient of Dr. Davari’s for about 17 years. First of all, his office is equipped with new and clean dental equipment. The receptionist, Suzy, is super nice and always greets me as I arrive and makes me feel comfortable. The hygienists always do a great job cleaning my teeth and I experience minimal bleeding. As far as Dr. Davari himself, he is very professional and one of the most knowledgeable in his field of study. I have pretty much had every type of dental procedure done by him ranging from minor cavities to veneers and root canals. Thank you Dr. Davari for making my teeth beautiful and giving me the confidence of always smiling.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Davari for several years — I used to visit his Van Nuys office. That place (the building, not his office) was a dump and I can see why he got out of there.
The Glendale office is very nice, has modern equipment (digital X-​rays instead of the old film x-​rays that zap you with about 100 times more radiation).
The office staff is excellent — I’ve never had a rude comment from Suzie and I’ve never witnessed her treat somebody poorly (though there have been plenty of people that deserved it). Maria is also very nice.
The hygienist, Belinda, is very nice, very thorough and very gentle.
Dr. Davari is outstanding. He is very thorough, explains the problem and what he will do to fix it. Unfortunately I neglected my teeth as a kid and have paid the price for it. I had a tooth extracted and he put a bridge in. While the temporary was being made he sent me to an endodontist for a root canal. When the endodontist saw what Dr. Davari had done she said loudly, «Wow, I’ve never seen such beautiful bridge work!» His prices are reasonable, he’s got a great chair-​side manner and his work is excellent.
The only complaint I’d have is the parking can be difficult — street parking only with various restrictions.

I have only nice things to say about Dr. Davari, the dental hygienists and the receptionist at this office. Extremely personable. Excellent care. Free street parking is never a problem to find. I highly recommend!

I haven’t been writing many reviews on Unilocal lately, but I always enjoy doing so when I visit a 5-​star establishment that isn’t always portrayed as such.
Have been visiting Dr. Davari for the past 6 or 7 years or so, and I never mind going back (except for driving extra miles to get there.) Every person in this office has always been friendly and professional. The office is clean & spotless. I have had a very «high maintenance» mouth over the years and it’s really gotten better since I started coming here.
Only drawback is parking could get difficult if neighborhood is bustling around lunch. X-​rays can get abrasive — but try asking nicely to be gentle, that usually works.

this dentist is a crook… beware… all of the office staff are liers, they chared me rediculous amounts of money and took advantage of the fact that i dont have insurance. i visited the office 4 times for an hour each time. so far, they have charged me $ 5800. which was the original amount agree to pull my teeth and install dentures. after pulling my teeth, the dentist told me to take antibiotics for a few weeks and return. i returned a few days ago and now they want another $ 9300. that is only for my upper teeth. i could only imagine what they want to do my entire mouth. this dentist is rediculous. he is a crook, a lier, and a theive. i would not recommend anyone to visit this office, regardless if they have insurance or not. this dentist should have his license pulled.
i am going to report this office to every type of better business bureau and insurance commission.
i am going to do my best to have this peice of sh*t dentist lose his office. he is clearly in the wrong business. good thing he isnt a brain surgeon.

The best dental office I have been to. the staff is very professional and friendly and so is the dentist. The office is super clean and modern. The only problem is there is not a lot if parking spots.

Hi Dr. Davari. Thank you for your response. The only ‘bullish’ and rude behavior that occurred during my visit to your office was done by your office manager. There was no yelling involved. It doesn’t reflect as though your office is truly receptive to patient feedback, as you seem to come up with an excuse for every criticism you receive (the reviewer below me is a case in point).
Regardless of any subjective opinions on what constitutes bullish and rude behavior and/​or yelling, the bottom line is:
— your office manager refused to follow the protocol you agreed to by becoming a provider for my insurance, which is 1. schedule an office visit for my toddler or 2. request a referral for her to see a pediatric dentist.
— the first time she spoke to the insurance rep she lied to her, stating that I refused to bring my child in for an appointment. Do you feel this is appropriate behavior for any of your staff, let alone the office manager? Then she refused to speak to the second insurance agent who called to clarify why she wasn’t following protocol. Again, this behavior is wildly inappropriate on her part.
It’s very sad that an innocent two year old is the one most affected in this case, as a direct result of your office manager’s actions. The toddler did nothing to warrant a delay in receiving dental care in an expeditious manner.
While you may have a large pt base, all it takes is a handful of people to voice their negative experiences for this to rapidly change. Your response also speaks volumes, and thus far, it seems like you inherently do not care for the overall experience your pts have at your practice. In lieu of owning people’s bad experience and attempting to correct it, you make excuses.

Went to this office with an arogant Dentist that charged me wrong and my insurance had to get involved and refuses to talk to me, will not return calls and are very slow at getting things to you. Just because one of your employees is on vacation doesnt mean you stop helping your patients. Also their policy is that they dont change your treatment to help you with your wallet so dont expect that to happen. Also the girl that took my X-​rays didnt use the proper tools and had a plastic wrap around the thing they stick in your mouth which caused pain and gagging.

I actually really like the dentist himself, so I feel kind of bad about giving it three stars, I would like to say I’m giving it 3 ½.
The dentist is great — he is very nice, professional, and trustworthy. I add the last because I had gone to someone else beforehand who blatantly lied about the work I’d need. Dr. Davari showed me on my x-​rays what needed to be done, and this saved me unnecessary, painful work and hundreds of dollars.
The office is clean and modern.
The only problem is the dental hygienist that assisted him was terrible on two separate occasions. She did my x-​rays the first time, and it was incredibly painful. She’d just roughly shove the x-​ray thing in my mouth and force me to bite in incredibly painful positions. It was one of my worst experiences ever in a dental office, and I have two fake teeth, if that gives you any indicator.
The second time, when I was getting my filling put in by the doctor, she was actually suctioning my cheek and tongue instead of the moisture in my mouth. This was extremely painful. My cheek was bruised by the time I was done and it stills hurt a few days later.
All in all, I recommend the dentist highly, but possibly some feedback on his assistant could school her in the arts of handling patients a little more carefully and less painfully.

The best dentist I’ve ever been to!!! He has a gentle touch, and by the same token is very professional and extremely attentive to his patient’s comfort. He has an elegantly designed, high tech and super clean office, that puts you at ease the moment you walk in. I also enjoyed the positive energy he exhibits and the good vibe between him and his employees. I highly recommend Dr. Davari if you are very picky and anal about everything, like I am. lol

Outstanding! A very clean modern style office! The whole staff is very friendly. Dr. Davari is amazing! He is very informative and explains everything very well as he works on you. Amazing! I’m so happy I’ve chosen this place for all my future dental needs!
