I just discovered Bicol Express recently. the food was delicious well cooked with generous portion sizes. I like the idea of, the all day breakfast menu and the different combo suggestions for the same. Their party deals combos are also great and generous. The food is tastefully cooked and flavoured as well as reasonably priced. The décor is clean and simple but the food is YUMMY. Best Phillipino restaurant I have been to so far. Bicol Express became my go to place after work when I lacked the energy to cook, reheat leftovers or clean up. I am so very sad Bicol Express has moved from 91204. It was a delightful pit stop after work to relax and refuel. I will visit Bicol Express at its new location and wish them much success there. The staff were very pleasant and always stopped to explain the menu.

Usually when I’m in Southern California, I never go to Filipino joints mainly because my uncle always throws down in the kitchen whenever I’m around and we all get food coma off of his Pinoy breakfast home cooking. This place though, it comes close — real close. The silogs are delicious, at an unreal price — $ 5 each! WTF! That never happens in the Bay Area. You can also order side dishes of any type of meat you want. Both times that I ate here(yes, we ate here twice in one trip, that’s how good it is), I ordered longsilog with a side of Spam. Yes, I said Spam. Trust me, I never fucking touch that gelatinous horse-testicular hot mess of a canned meat in any other situation except when my mom fries it, but I had a feeling it was gonna be good here and it really was. Also, they have a different type of Filipino aguas frescas type drink every day or every other day. When I first visited, it was canteloupe. On our second visit, it was pineapple! We stuffed ourselves for well under $ 20 for both of us, both visits, and would definitely recommend. Hell, I’d even bring my parents here. Just don’t be rolling up here though with your party of 20 «close friends» or whatever because there are literally only a few places to sit and not very many staffers at any given point. Maybe if you love traveling with a billion people you guys should hit up Max’s or something. Keep this place low key and local for people like me who don’t do crowds or groups.

US Filipino carenderia/fastfood. I’m giving the place two stars because for the past times that I visited the servers are grumpy. Being friendly and smiling is part of a customer service oriented job. That’s what makes people come back! Their food is a hit or miss. There are times that they hit it right on the spot, there are times that is so-so, not so great food. I’m hoping they will have consistency in making their dishes so that it will turn out great all the time. Example: Their Bicol express was really good and the next time we order it, it’s just blaah. Because it’s a tiny place, hole in the wall spot, they don’t have a lot of customers yet, so expect to get your food a little faster. Everytime I go here the tv remote is near the food service area, that’s a concern. Servers are not wearing hairnets nor gloves all the time. So far I may not come back. Gave this carenderia a couple of chances to redeem itself. I’d rather go to Good-ah or Arko if I want consistency in my dishes. Tip: Their atchara is really good.

This was a life saver one weekend I came home for my sister’s birthday. I was super hungover and all I could think of was Tapsilog and Tocilog for breakfast. I drove my nauseated self here to place an order. I knew my brother and sister would appreciate it too when they woke up. It’s a small place, kind of not the most obvious store in the plaza. My brother and sister live in LA and didn’t even know it was there. They were impressed with me for finding it. While I was ordering I saw they had Laing which I love. So I grabbed me a side of that too! I don’t get my Filipino food fix too often so this was heaven.

Wth! The place may have good food and friendly service but all that goes out the window when you see a cockroach run under the cash register. I wish I paid before consuming the food. This really sucks since we were excited about this place. Can’t really recover from having seen that.

Great food. I’m not familiar with Filipino food at all or even how to order. The lady was so helpful and nice. I ordered the pork chop breakfast plate. It came with garlic rice and two eggs for $ 5.50. I’ve been back twice. She always gives me a cup of pink vinegar, I don’t use it. The last time I saw this place has a B inspection grade. Wonder why. I wish I didn’t know that. The food looks simple to make, I’ll try to make it at home.

The foods tasted good. we were there around 6 – 7 pm and there was only 4 trays of foods there. So not having variety selections kinda throw me off… Overall the service was good though. The cashier was friendly and respectful. The old lady who cook need to keep track on the portion of foods. The table in front of us ordered the same thing we ordered but got double the fish and I only got half of the fried fish… Not sure why…

YUM!!! If I can’t go to my best friends house for Filipino food, then I’ll do a Unilocal search for different Filipino restaurants. Since I’m near Eagle Rock and my Filipino friends told me that Eagle Rock has lot of Filipino restaurants, it will be easy to find a place. So I did a Unilocal search and found Bicol Express that is a little over a mile from my office. The place is pretty small with about 6 – 7 small tables, I thought that they would have a lot more assortment of dishes but it was OK since I didn’t want to order a 10 item combo meal. I got a 3 item combo with rice and a small side of soup and it came to about $ 10 which is not bad considering all the food I got. I got longanisa(sweet sausage), a dish with bitter melon, another dish with chicken and potatoes(see pictures). Whatever it was, it was delicious! My four stars because they keep the warmers luke-warm, Filipino food needs to be piping hot and served over hot, steamed rice!!! I’m looking forward to going back again.

I’m Filipina who lived in the Philippines for a good majority of my life and I’m not entirely sure how this place has 4 stars on Unilocal. I was excited to try this place because my boyfriend is always interested to try Filipino dishes. I wanted him to try fried rice with fried eggs and jeprox — basically one of my favorite Filipino breakfasts. This restaurant was a bit dingy and the Filipino guys manning the place looked a bit grumpy and disillusioned with the disappointment that is their restaurant. One star out — they were out of jeprox. We ordered pancit bihon, fried rice and bangus instead. The fried rice felt like it was cooked from a week before, the bangus was«eh»(my boyfriend and I had tried better — both from other Filipino restaurants and various home cooked meals) and the pancit bihon was as flavorless as it could possibly get. I’m only giving one star because I have no choice and mostly because the price is okay-ish. But honestly, I still regret what meager amount of money I paid for the food I purchased. Not worth it.

Highly recommend! First time here thanks to the great Unilocal reviews! They were right. Friendly courteous service, delicious food! Never had Filipino food before. My daughter was hesitant to try something new. She loved her BBQ Pork and I had the house specialty pork that was prepared in a coconut, ginger sauce. But not sweet, just really good. Great prices too!

We ordered so much food but the total price for what we ate was unbelievably low. We ate 3 of the dishes we ordered in the restaurant(fish kinilaw, afritada, and the crispy sisig). Quality of the food is really impressive. Special mention goes to the sisig though, serving was big and full of crispy delicious meat! Service was warm and attentive, the lady who helped us was really friendly. All in all, we are 100% happy with the food, service and experience. We already recommended them to all our friends and of course, we will be back! Cannot wait for our next visit!

Was hungry so came on Unilocal to see what local restaurant to explore nearby. Came across Bicol express. Got two entrees to go, don’t know what they’re called but both super yummy!!! I just know they’re both pork… Loved both of them. Support small businesses while filling your tummy with delicious food. Awesome!

I believe I found my favorite Pilipino restaurant. The price is good, the food is good, and they serve breakfast ALLDAY! If you’re familiar with Pilipino food, then you know breakfast is the best meal of the day! Yum. Yum. Yum!

I came in here yesterday lunch time with my son. The place is pretty small. I park at street and it’s not hard to find one. The best part is it’s not far from my house. :) Right when we walked in there’s a menu posted and it shows the price too which is good! I got Longsilog for to go, I ate Tapsilog for here and Porksilog. The breakfast menu is only $ 5. Not bad! We waited for our food for like 15mins but it’s okay because when they served it everything looks fresh, not like it’s pre-made Where they just heat up the food. Also, When they served it, it was on the plate with banana leaf which is cool. The portion and quality of the food is decent size and the food is good too. Nevertheless, good customer service. The lady who took our order is very and very polite when we ask her some questions about the menu. By the way thank you for not rushing us when we are ordering. Don’t change! I will definitely come back and try your halo halo and the Bicol express. I think I’m going to be your regular customer. :)

Drove by craving filipino food and saw this place with my wife. Decided to try it out. Small cozy place, family ran very friendly and opened just a couple of months ago. My wife and I ordered the Bicol Express. I must admit,. I always order the Bicol Express from Max’s of Manilla and the Bicol here is much more flavorful and delicious more like homemade! My wife highly agrees, but don’t take our word for it, come by and try it for yourself. We must stopped by again soon to try the other foods on their menu as I’ve heard they have an amazing breakfast selection at a reasonable price! We shall try the Bangus(Milk-fish) upon our next visit.

This is a tiny, fast food, Filipino restaurant with a few tables for seating. Upon entering, you walk up to the counter, order, and pay. They do accept credit cards. They advertise all over the restaurant that they serve breakfast for $ 5 all day(choice of protein, choice of fried vs white rice, and 2 eggs), which includes free coffee. It was strange, though, as they have placed a new menu board on the wall and the breakfast is now priced at $ 5.50, but we were only charged $ 5. Perhaps that will be changing soon. The tocilog(marinated pork) and tapsilog(beef) were pretty good, but the pork was cold. The accompanying fried rice was dry. The eggs were done over medium. Overall, the food was tasty enough for $ 5 and the portion was quite large. The owners and staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The food is nothing to write home about, but it’s hard to beat the price and service. parking — free, tiny lot, free street parking tip — they have free wifi available

$ 5 for a lot of good food and some coffee! For $ 5 I got tocino and sausage, garlic rice, and eggs. It can’t get any better than that!!! They are very nice, they let me try a sample of their specialty. I like the atmosphere, it’s really laid back.
